AI wasn't my idea! Colm is the mastermind behind that The Spin-Off forum has pretty much always been a corner of the forum for participants to take control of, the mods have enough going on month to month with vetos etc and we've also got a mod hosted main contest currently as well. It was different when one mod focussed on the spin off forum. The sub forum can be a little hidden at times as well so unless something is getting massive response it's easy for it to slip through the cracks. I think if you're really passionate about hosting something then a PM pitch to the mods is the way to go, especially if you already know there's interest from this thread. Ideas are one thing but willing hosts are another. I have some free time coming up before I start my new job mid May so I'll happily host something then if there's demand, just fling ideas at me otherwise I will just do another pride edition since it's that time of year :kink:

Yea her Facebook is public and she's been posting multiple times a day, I think she's even spoken to the papers about it. It seems to be getting a little messy there, Richard Gadd didn't want people looking for her or Darrien but that didn't stop them. If she'd just stayed quiet there wouldn't have been any confirmation that it was actually her, just speculation. It's a worry for both her and Richard tbh. I think he risks legal action being taken against him, especially with the person people are speculating is Darrien.

That's true, the type of show it is definitely affects this like crime drama types can have as many seasons as it likes really but that's because you could just start watching anywhere and not be overly confused since each episode is generally a new storyline anyway with the exception of the characters individual stories but they're rarely the focus point anyway. Silent Witness, Criminal Minds etc come to mind for that I think shorter seasons are a result of modern viewing habits as well, people love a limited series or something they can binge in a day/weekend. I enjoy series like that but I also love something I can be invested in, I'm kinda missing that rn - YellowJackets Season 3 is the only real one I'm actively waiting on coming out but that's probably not going to happen for another year yet, the strikes really set back filming etc. That's definitely one that will have an expiration fairly soon because it starts with the present timeline then jumps backwards so once those two timelines meet there's probably nowhere for it to go but hopefully we'll get a few more seasons from it until then :lol:

At the ripe old age of 27 I have developed commitments issues when it comes to series. I just can't start something if it's more than 5 or 6 series long because in my mind I've already written it off as going on longer than it should be bc this is generally the case. My best friend keeps telling me to watch Grey's Anatomy and I just can't bring myself to do it :kink: I've been burned in the past when I've been into a series and it keeps going on and on and on and.... Like Pretty Little Liars or How I Met Your Mother, both should have ended after a few seasons. Riverdale takes the absolute piss, I stopped watching it after season 2 I think :lol: The 100 also went on too long but I did stop watching it after season 3, from what I've seen though it lost its way a bit. So what series do you feel that way about? On the other hand, which series were cut too short. I feel like there is a longer list for those, especially when it comes to Netflix shows that have been cancelled after their first season. Sense8 immediately comes to mind for that. One Day At A Time, Winnona Earp, The Wilds, Faking It as well. There's probably more I could add if I thought about it. Orphan Black is my all time favourite series and as much as I'd love for it to have gone on longer I can fully respect why it ended when it did and it felt natural, I don't feel like it was cut before it's time. I do hope they do something with it in the future as I do miss it but I can always rewatch it for the 10th time I suppose :lol:

I was meaning to make a thread on this! I watched it all in one day last week, it's a fantastic piece of work. It's so complex that I'm still thinking about different elements on a daily basis. I particularly love how it shows a different side to how someone might deal with trauma and the repercussions it can have on all aspects of your life. Definitely hard hitting stuff that left a lasting impression. The way the characters are portrayed is so interesting, idk how to word this really but the only character I was actively rooting for was Teri, she deserved better than Donny BUT I also could tell he did love her and was hoping he'd sort his shit out for her sake. Donny and Martha both had their faults and I think the fact that Richard recognised that is super important. It wasn't a case of villain vs victim, he wasn't painting himself as a protagonist, he was refreshingly self aware throughout. Nobody deserves to be put through that sort of torment but the fact he tried to understand why Martha was the way she was does speak volumes. It can't be easy having to relive it all again as well, firstly between filming it then again with the reception and people trying to track down the "real" people. I do wonder why Richard chose to give Martha a different ending. He said she didn't get jail time irl yet she is arrested and found guilty in the series. I know he says he didn't press charges irl because he knew she was a victim as well but why not have the series end on that note too? Maybe it was purely for the story telling element.

I don't think it's the worst I just hate that this is her exit storyline and doesn't really make sense for her character at this point in time. Maybe if she wasn't pregnant then yea but after everything with Peach I just don't see why Whitney would kinda neglect the care of her pregnancy/unborn child to take on a responsibility she really doesn't need to be doing especially when shes breaking the law and risking her family over it. I get that she sees herself in Britney and thinks she can be her Bianca etc but it's turning Whitney into someone she never really has been. If one character deserved to ride off into the sunset with a happy ending it's Whitney, they've had enough notice of her leaving to do something worthwhile with her so this is all a bit shit and seems like such a random plot they've just put in to lead up to her exit. There's so many other things they could have done.You know it's bad when Lauren Branning is her voice of reason thought it :lol:

I had high hopes for Anatomy of a Fall as I'm sure it won awards and seems to be highly rated among critics, it was labeled as a physiological thriller so I was expecting it to be a who-done-it type or at least have you really questioning if the wife killed her husband or not but it was just dull and didn't really make you think :lol: I really hope Abigail can become a series, they definitely left it with room to continue, it would be fab for Melissa's sake if that was the case considering what happened with Scream - horrors are hard to get right in my opinion, they're either too predictable, too similar to other things, too much focus on gore/violence that it loses the plot or they're boring and drag on too long but this was a perfect horror film tbh a definite must watch for anyone, even if this genre isn't usually your thing
