  1. Would blow up this forum anyway! Thinking outside the box a little, I've heard Jax Jones and Mabel are working together... on paper that sounds like a hit in waiting.
  2. Surprised that 'Barking' is off already, although it is being heavily supported by commercial radio so maybe 1Xtra felt they didn't need to support it anymore. Nice adds for Migos, Burna Boy, H.E.R., Khalid, Ms Banks, Octavian & Tom Misch too - 'Party Here' has been a favourite of mine for the last month or two.
  3. Shock leader so far!
  4. I got 2-Step Garage vibes from this too, refreshing to hear such an established artist making fresh music like this!
  5. It's a very trippy video isn't it? Think this will be more of a university club and house party song than a chart hit personally, but it's pretty great.
  6. Worth it for the potential reactions on here to be honest.
  7. I went for 'Finesse', although it's a banger the other three have the advantage of holding up very well for me personally.

The Lazy Song Half surprised this lasted so long, but 'Just The Way You Are' finally falls and by a significant margin. Another Bruno Mars video with a billion YouTube views, this song was an absolute monster back in 2010 becoming one of those songs you would hear just about everywhere. Listening after all this time, it is clearly a strong pop song but I would suggest it hasn't aged too well. However, with Valentine's Day just around the corner, expect this to be dusted off by Heart FM for the day. Votes close midday on Sunday, so get voting! I think we are left with the four best Bruno Mars songs personally so becoming very hard to pick now.

A remix of 'Location' featuring Jorja Smith and Wretch 32 has been released - a sign this will be pushed in the UK!
  10. I love it, can see quite a lot of people hating it. No idea how it'll do commercially.
  11. The snippet I've heard sounds very similar to 'Run Up'!
  12. I agree that Can't Hold Us is the best Macklemore song - a perfect example of pop rap!
  13. Got until midnight to get your votes in!

  15. Here's my selection of urban music that deserves exposure this week... T Mulla - Dollar Pound Cake ryEFyW_YIh8 Recently added to UK Hot Hits on Spotify, this looks likely to become the next UK rap song to be pushed... this has been floating around for a few months now but was recently signed. Decent listen, I think it sounds very similar to 'Unsigned' which was a tune and bodes well for this. Lil Xan - Betrayed EbfK7dei7ec Another song added to UK Hot Hits and another song that has been floating around for a few months. This has really grown on me, I like the melody and vibe of the song and wouldn't surprise me to see this do well. Someone said this would prove very divisive on Buzzjack, but I honestly think there are worse offenders than this! Mahalia ft. Little Simz - Proud Of Me nnkRDMKEY4E Second song of Mahalia's to appear here, she reminds me of Lily Allen vocally for some reason. She's linked up with Little Simz on this one, which has a laid-back feel and another sign of a potential breakthrough artist. Capleton ft. Chronixx - Help The Weak VlD2GYtD29Q We finish with a little bit of reggae this week, a real sing-a-long track that epitomises the best of the genre. Chronixx has been on top of his game for years (remember Who Knows?) and provides a solid verse and melody to this one that makes me yearn for the warmer months to come.
  16. Some great taste here!!
  17. Zlv1rdcpS9M 6. Marry You (9 Votes) 7. Grenade 8. That's What I Like 9. Versace on the Floor 10. It Will Rain 11. When I Was Your Man 12. Young Girls 13. Gorilla 14. The Lazy Song It was close, but 'Marry You' departs a respectable 6th. Seeing as I personally only remember the melody of the chorus, I would suggest that the song has done this well. Giving it a quick listen, it sounds very inoffensive which may explain why its held on so long. Heating up now, the next round closes Wednesday night.
  18. 151. Bazzi - Mine I'll be amazed if this doesn't end up as a huge hit... sounds like the perfect crossover pop song for 2018.
  19. Pitbull... smh
  20. I think 'Unforgettable' would have peaked slightly lower, but the rest I agree. They were four of the biggest songs of last year after all.
  21. This sounds very exciting! I thought he was veering away from the sound of his last era, so this is a pleasant surprise. I reckon it'll be 'Afrobbean' sounding considering its success in the UK at the moment and previous PARTYNEXTDOOR songs like 'Run Up' and 'Not Nice'. And to those who want 'names'... he worked with so many last era: Frank Ocean, Migos, Katy Perry, Pharrell, Nicki Minaj to name but a few.

Yeah this sounds like a hit in waiting, bit of a tune.
  23. Too many to mention, but I always liked Wretch 32 more than anyone else I knew... he had such a cool sounding voice and generally solid, thought-provoking and infectious lyrics.
  24. While the sample in 'Decline' was sledgehammer subtle, the sample here seems much more subtle and works very well. Really liking this!
  25. Extending the deadline until tonight as there is currently a tie! Get your votes in...
