  1. MIST Top 40!
  2. Let's not be silly now...
  3. Dear god no.
  4. After listening to this more, this has one hell of a catchy chorus! Could actually see this becoming a hit if it receives support.

The Lazy Song The first single from the '24K Magic' album to fall, 'Versace on the Floor' has always struck me as a marmite kind of song. An obvious throwback to early 90s radio ballads, this curiously failed to become a significant chart hit - even a questionably requested David Guetta remix failed to do it much justice (I do think 'Funk Wav' era Calvin Harris would have done a better job personally). A decision to release this single in the middle of Summer always seemed odd as well. However, a decent enough song all in all, I did quite like this. Next round closes Saturday, getting ever harder to choose now.
  6. Premiered on 1Xtra this evening... its okay!
  7. I'm intrigued to hear this - I've liked them since 'Dance On My Own' dropped but Frankie was my favourite member so waiting to hear the new music. They (or their management team) must have their finger on the pulse as Lotto Boyzz and Mr. Eazi are two of the biggest upcoming artists around right now - makes me think this song will have an 'afro' feel to it.

  9. Urban acts do need the exposure... how else would 'Ramz' have blown up on Spotify?
  10. W-w3WfgpcGg 10. It Will Rain (13 Votes) 11. When I Was Your Man 12. Young Girls 13. Gorilla 14. The Lazy Song 'It Will Rain' is eliminated in 10th place, after teetering on the edge for previous rounds. Another song I'd never heard before, this sounds like a typically earnest ballad which sounds a little dated now. At least I know now all the songs left so will able to offer more interesting commentary. Round closes Thursday afternoon, as I have exams before then. Get voting!
  11. Very surprised to see Drake so high, but God's Plan is a tune! Really reminds me of 'Take Care' era Drake.

God's Plan sounds like Take Care era Drake!
  13. I saw it earlier mate... Bruno Mars, Ramz and WSTRN moved up and Avelino, D'Banj and One Acen removed.
  14. It sounds like a huge hit in the making to me, especially around March time when it's lighter and the weather has started to improve.
  15. ekzHIouo8Q4 11. When I Was Your Man (14 Votes) 12. Young Girls 13. Gorilla 14. The Lazy Song With the highest proportion of votes so far, 'When I Was Your Man' is the next to fall. Now this is one I do remember being unavoidable... every time you turned on the music channels or the radio the line 'I'll bring you flowers' assaulted your ears and the image of him playing the piano stays with me despite me not actually liking the song at the time. After five years, it's not a bad listen but a definite example of a song ruined by overplay. Next round runs until Sunday night.
  16. 'Aura' is brilliant! J Warner sounds like Chance the Rapper in parts.
  17. This will be a big hit surely... Top 20 definitely, Top 10 probable. Peaking in a few months time, it's very strong. Prefer the verses to the chorus at the moment.
  18. Like this on first listen, even if does have a slightly 'preachy' vibe. Can see this being a big hit.

  20. There's a new Mabel single too, featuring Not3s.
  21. The strong Andy Carroll to Chelsea rumours are the funniest thing I've heard in a while. Would be such a random move, we'd be stupid to turn down a 20m+ bid for him.
  22. Octavian - Party Here dz7eyvAMOpA This is my biggest recommendation of the week, a song that is getting so much throughout the underground scene right now! This stands out from other typical UK rap tracks, primarily because of the instrumental - contains elements of trap, hip hop, a horn section and a breakbeat chorus. Octavian is just starting to make a name from himself, and this could potentially allow him to blow up as an artist. Famous Dex ft. ASAP Rocky - Pick It Up HYjch-PC-AI Just outside the Top 10 on American Spotify, this has been picking up hype for a few months now. Slightly off-kilter beat but a definite party starter. Sounds almost like there are Indian influences in the music, which makes it more interesting than your standard rap track. Keep an eye out for this!
  23. CyM5AjiZris 12. Young Girls - 8 Votes 13. Gorilla 14. The Lazy Song Another round, another Bruno Mars song I have no recollection of... listening to it now it's actually okay. Well, he has had more infuriating songs but I don't think its something I would listen to out of choice. Great turnout so far, got until tomorrow night to vote!
  24. Close as it stands, get your votes in before midnight!
  25. I heard a West Country remix of this on the radio this week. Brilliant.
