Eminem - Revival
Liking the song with Ed Sheeran! Slightly dated perhaps, but sounds good. Would expect it to do well, especially first week.

I think the best dance tracks with female vocalists have more unknown or upcoming vocalists. Rudimental and Disclosure especially were great at this.

What’s your favourite UK TOP 40 of 2017?
What great taste! Probably my favourite too.

Spotify Chart Thread [Q4 2017] | Eminem #1, Ed #2 combined
Which songs look likely to break into the Top 50 in January or become big? I think Steel Banglez is one of them, holding up nicely in the 60s.

J Hus - Common Sense
I'm surprised they never pushed 'Fisherman', that seemed the most popular album track when it was first released.

I think the Ramz and Steel Banglez releases (which look like being big) forced the label's hand a bit here, pushing a remix out to keep the buzz surrounding 'My Lover' up.

Great to see Not3s/Mabel get support! (even if the original is better).

BBC Radio 1Xtra Playlist
Ramz will be on the playlist until like March once it's added so I'm sure it'll get loads of support from 1Xtra. That Big Sean track is a tune, not feeling much else of the adds this week.

I don't think it is as strong as the original anyway.

Not3s - My Lover/Mabel Remix
A remix featuring Mabel has been released and playlisted by R1 today, think she compliments the song well!

The Apprentice
Joanna is my favourite, hope she wins!

Even for me, 'Barking' has come out of nowhere. It has been floating about on GRM Daily and late night 1Xtra for months, but suddenly released last week and blown up commercially. Reminds me of the trajectory of 'IN2' actually. At least acts like Stormzy, J Hus, Yungen etc. were reasonably established in the scene, whereas this has come from nowhere!

G-Eazy & Halsey - Him & I
Candidate for most forgettable big hit of the year?

Steel Banglez - Bad
This is a pleasant surprise to read!

84. Ramz - Barking Keep an eye on this one.

Ramz - Barking
This sounds like a mix of vocals from Dave and Not3s over a J Hus beat. Suffice to say, this should be a big hit early next year! The 2018 version of 'Addison Lee' with the appropriate chart success? The instant success of this just shows the influence Afrobeat-rap from the UK has had this year. Songs like 'Addison Lee' and 'Did You See' have been trailblazers for this sound to truly crossover.

Brit Award: Critics Choice
Good news, she is probably the one who needs the boost the most (although she is doing fine anyway) but at the same time, she is the safest choice. Imagine the statement of backing Stefflon Don. If she has considerable backing - think J Hus, Stormzy or Stefflon Don, she'll have a smash single next year. And with the right exposure, she'd sell albums. I mean, there is a massive gap for a female British R&B artist right now (applies to Mabel too).

BBC Radio 1Xtra Playlist
Yeah it dropped this week... it's much more pop leaning than 'Wildheart'.

I imagine it's just overexposure really, he does have success on a scale almost no artist around can match.
-
Miguel - War & Leisure
'Told You So' is one of my favourite songs right now! Will have to check out the rest of the album.

It's inarguably true that the general trend on Buzzjack is for female pop artists though? Just look at the ongoing Record of the Year results, that illustrates it perfectly. I don't know why people are always called out for pointing this out. It doesn't mean that 'Buzzjack hates male artists' either, just the forum naturally leans towards female artists. He does need to go away for a few years now though Ed Sheeran.

Crazy Cousinz - No Way
lab6OuaspuA Video for this one dropped yesterday, the track has been around for a few months so could be ready to get a push. Slightly more upbeat than the UK rap hits we've been having recently, incorporates Afrobeat, UK funky and rap to create a probable floor-filler. Yxng Bane kills this too.
-
Steel Banglez - Bad
The mad success of Did You See has enabled songs like this to have every chance of emulating what J Hus has done! (for the record, this is catchy and radio friendly enough to go Top 40 easily).

2018 World Cup Draw
Uruguay weak? Group H is extremely well balanced in my opinion, could see any of those teams finishing in any order.

Can't see any clubs playing Rita Ora solo material (unremixed).
