  1. Liking all those adds this week, especially Miguel and Steel Banglez. What was the point in playlisting Davido for one week though? The Fredo song on the A-List is one of the biggest street anthems around at the moment, good to see that reflected here.

It's a very 'England' group isn't it? One team with lots of Premier League players in and two unknown quantities (like 2006, 2010 and 2016). Belgium are essentially the 2018 version of Sweden, USA or Wales and Tunisia/Panama are this year's version of Paraguay/Trinidad, Algeria/Slovenia and Russia/Slovakia. I stand by my prediction of two draws, a narrow win and second place. Probably ties with Group A as the least interesting group. Very interesting groups elsewhere! Argentina are in a toughie as is Group B (Morocco are very underrated and Iran are well organised defensively). Brazil won't have it easy either and most of the groups are well balanced. That opening game (Russia v Saudi Arabia) does not look good on paper does it? Lucky that Portugal v Spain is Day 2.
  3. Not3s creeping up I see, at #78 now. I imagine it'll be one of the songs to get big promotion in January.

Most of the songs I voted for are out already then! Seems hip-hop will be taking the biggest hit this year.

Very excited for the draw later on today! Will anybody be following?
  6. Great to see J Hus and Steel Banglez added to Hot Hits! Of course they love J Hus, he's one of the biggest artists around right now, especially with the younger Spotify crowd.
  7. Only from Manchester, as I'm a student there. My dad came up from Bristol. Although even 100 yards would be too far to travel for that performance!
  8. Off to Everton away tonight, such a huge game. Heart says we showed improvement on Friday and Everton are just as shit as us at the moment. Head says wins at Goodison are once a decade events. 2-0 Everton is my pessimistic prediction.
  9. I think this will be best around the time his album drops!

I like all 3 so don't really mind who wins! I think it'll be Mabel, but should be Jorja Smith.
  11. Can see these being minor urban hits after the promotion for 'My Lover' dies down... 5IcDYh4HSlo 9oYhniDSeu8
  12. That seems like a very good fit!
  13. Be nice if he didn't simply put another female pop star on this just to chase a hit. Go for a more unknown female vocalist, they are often the best dance hits.

As I said at the time, if 'Heatstroke' was a Pharrell ft. Young Thug and Ariana Grande song it would have been much better received. I really liked it at the time, but its no Slide. Katy Perry and Little Mix deserved to be much higher up.
  15. Surprised to see only two rappers on there... considering the year they've had I would have thought there'd be more than just Not3s and Yxng Bane here. Pleasantly surprised to see IAMDDB here though, 'Shade' is a tune.

If it wasn't for the sample, I'd be all over this... there's no getting round it.
  17. This is the kind of dance I really like!
  18. 78. Steel Banglez - Bad (feat. Yungen, MoStack, Mr Eazi & Not3s) Can see this doing well early next year, that production will sit well on radio. 104. Not3s - My Lover good to see this on the way back up.

AmeDPq-JmAw Another week, another catchy potential crossover song from the UK rap scene. Steel Banglez has been a prolific producer for the last eighteen months and he has assembled a pretty impressive posse for this hit. MoStack delivers an infectious hook and there are solid verses from the upcoming Not3s, Mr Eazi and 'Bestie' rapper Yungen. Can see this getting significant airplay as we close in on 2018, can see this becoming a club staple too.
  20. When Craig David made his comeback, his music sounded so fresh... now he sounds like everybody else. It's a shame. The quality of the music is good, but so generic.
  21. Good to see adds for Davido, Ghetts, Protoje and RAYE this week!
  22. This charted Top 40 a lot quicker than I expected!
  23. The early trends suggest all the best songs will finish bottom or nowhere qualifying :(
  24. It's odd because Watford were clearly the better team but we still could have scored three goals. Terrible run of games coming up, lot of people would be pleased to see us go down too. Mutinous mood amongst the fans today, hopefully turns up the heat on the owners. Dread to think who'll be signed in January.
  25. Good to see such a level-headed perspective on life.
