  1. On first full listen, this is very strong and has a real chance of doing well! Maybe the same level of success as Mabel and Stefflon Don recently (although I imagine if it peaks that high it'll peak in January).
  2. This samples the classic 'Always on Time'... I'm not sure how I feel about that.
  3. Keep voting everybody, still close as it stands!
  4. Its been added to the Capital playlist already according to the website, that sounds like a good indication it could be hit. Great to see Mr Eazi getting more exposure (he's on the new Yungen single too), probably going for that Afro-swing sound.
  5. No accounting for taste with some people, most of the bangers are on Disc 2!
  6. This happens surprisingly regularly doesn't it? A few that spring to mind are 'Turn Back Time', 'I Loved You', 'Alive', 'The Girl Is Mine', 'Heartbroken'...

I don't think they actually play them all. It's one of the biggest albums of the year for UK rap though from one of its defining artists so it's fair enough.
  8. The MOBOs are now this month, and the award for Best International Act is probably one of the hardest to call! DJ Khaled undoubtedly had two of the biggest of the biggest tracks of the summer and his (or his son's presence) this year has been huge. However, artists such as Drake, Jay Z & Kendrick Lamar released high quality albums which cannot be ignored. If there were any acts in Hip Hop that are likely to become 'very 2017' I would nominate Migos and Travis Scott. 'Bad & Boujee' was a huge #1 in America at the start of the year and their presence on social media has become ubiquitous - this is without mentioning Quavo's position as the 2017 rent-a-rapper. Travis Scott also has become a popular feature this year and is headlining 1Xtra Live in November. African artist WizKid is also a deserving nominee, although I consider it very unlikely he will win. Cardi B is also a surprise nominee, seemingly of the back of one song and her popularity on social media. However that song, 'Bodak Yellow', was the first female hip hop #1 in America since Lauryn Hill (penny for the thoughts of Nicki Minaj) and has become part of the zeitgeist of 2017. The question is if she can build on this or become a 1 hit wonder? Elsewhere, Solange and SZA released critically acclaimed albums and deserve their nominations. I'm not too familiar with either album but 'Cranes In the Sky' and 'Love Galore' are very good! But who should win? My Top 3 would probably be: 1. Migos 2. Kendrick Lamar 3. Cardi B
  9. Z-48u_uWMHY 6. Alright (7 Votes) 7. Poetic Justice 8. DNA 9. i 10. LOYALTY. 11. LOVE. 12. The Blacker The Berry It was close, but Alright is next to fall... and personally I think it was about the right time to go. Blew up in 2015, thanks to it's association with the 'Black Lives Matter' movement with crowds chanting the chorus and it became the unofficial soundtrack to the movement in America. It's easy to see why too with an amazing video and infectious chorus. Next round closes at midnight on Thursday, competition is heating up now so get voting!

    Your ignorance only embarrasses yourself.
  11. 159. Not3s - My Lover This will be the next UK rap crossover I think, sounds very similar to 'Did You See' and the chorus will sit well on commercial radio.

  13. I too hope it sticks around for a while, but I think 'Big For Your Boots' is the big smash from the album, no matter how well this does!
  14. Please please please let Everton be in a relegation battle this season. Always funny when a big club is down the bottom, some of my earliest memories are of when West Ham and Leeds were relegated in the 2000s and how funny it was for everybody.
  15. Voted Backseat Freestyle, it's the one I go back too least on the list now. I remember my mate at sixth form rinsed this when it was out though.
  16. Stormzy album rate anybody?
  17. 11 "Hot Right Now" (with DJ Fresh) 08 "R.I.P." (ft. Tinie Tempah) (this sounds very dated now though) 05 "How We Do (Party)" 06 "Shine Ya Light" -1 "Radioactive" 07 "Lay Down Your Weapons" (with K Koke) 06 "Black Widow" (with Iggy Azalea) 07 "I Will Never Let You Down" (not my thing, but I appreciate this is a very strong pop song) 00 "Doing It" (with Charli XCX) 06 "New York Raining" (with Charles Hamilton) 01 "Poison" (terrible) 07 "Body on Me" (ft. Chris Brown) (Fetty Wap remix is better) 08 "Coming Home" (with Sigma) 07 "Your Song" 04 "Lonely Together" (with Avicii) 05 "Anywhere"
  18. This always struck me as the perfect song for this time of year, so props to Stormzy for pushing this as a single now!
  19. Charlie Puth is really channelling 2003 Justin Timberlake isn't he.
  20. Impressed to see Lotto Boyzz on here!

Another vote for 'Bad Things' by Machine Gun Kelly please... the type of song that belongs in the Pop, not the R&B forum!

  23. yyr2gEouEMM 7. Poetic Justice (11 Votes) 8. DNA 9. i 10. LOYALTY. 11. LOVE. 12. The Blacker The Berry With the most votes for any song so far, 'Poetic Justice' is the next to fall. I personally really like this song, great song to play when winding down at the end of the day! Just another sign of the strength of his back catalogue as this would be a stand-out for most artists. Next deadline is Monday, get voting!

f_dL481AcNM First single from Migos' anticipated next album 'Culture 2', featuring Cardi B & Nicki Minaj for an all-star single! The video on YouTube is a loop of the chorus (like 'rockstar') but the whole song is typical Migos with a hook that buries into your head. I enjoyed Cardi's verse more than Nicki's too.
  25. There's so many whole albums/mixtapes on the A List right now... Avelino's the latest and I think it's great to see! Elsewhere, liking the adds for Angel, E.Mak, Future & Young Thug, Not3s and Shakka.
