  1. Yeah it would seem anything UK rap-related has been labelled as grime here. 20 bangers though!!
  2. Stefflon Don will be on the A-List for ages once she gets moved up! Good adds last week for ASAP Ferg, Mabel, Wretch 32 and Young T & Bugsey.

Great night for Bristol last night! Hoping both are rewarded with glamour (preferably televised) ties in the next round. Going to Cheltenham tonight, we should win but given our form and characteristics this is a banana skin.
  4. The beat and chorus in this are so addictive!
  5. Both still get rinsed on nights out! As well as No Games by Serani, which was amazingly never a chart hit!
  6. Turn Me On and Hold Yuh are two of the most loved songs of my generation.
  7. I'd argue its more radio friendly than Loyal ever was - even though that has become Chris Brown's signature song. Thought it sounded a hit upon first listen!
  8. Creeping In The Dark was a tune back in the day, wonder how this one sounds?!
  9. How would you describe it?

Aiming for a festival anthem here I think... sounds decent! Needs to be heard on full speakers I think to fully appreciate.

O3TDhPVx1Do A popular song since it dropped in March, with heavy 1Xtra and Capital XTRA plays, the video for Mabel's 'Finders Keepers' is finally here. Seems to be getting a re-release (a remix has been re-added to the 1Xtra playlist this week) which I'm totally on board with! Featuring Kojo Funds, this is a mid-tempo R&B jam, which I think samples the famous Divalli Riddim from 2003 (Never Leave You, Get Busy, No Letting Go). Big tune, hopefully gets some love and success.
  12. Go on Chris Brown! The enduring popularity of 'Turn Me On' is great to see.
  13. Chris Brown now at #23, anybody else heard it and thinks it could be a hit? Sounds like an obvious Capital FM staple if you ask me.
  14. Yes I agree with that! Like a Tory Lanez or a Bryson Tiller to add another minute or so to the song.
  15. The obvious question is do we want to attract anymore Dua Lipa stans? ;) All joking aside, these changes make sense really for the site. I do think however we should be encouraging diversity in posters and their interests
  16. 27. Chris Brown
  17. zbt7KpM538I Chris Brown's most radio-friendly release since 2015 at least, this samples the classic Kevin Lyttle song 'Turn Me On' and despite not quite being up to those standards it would surprise me if radio didn't pick this up. Catchy, upbeat and danceable - everything we've come to expect from Breezy. Recommended!
  18. This is actually a banger though and much more likely to chart as opposed to 'Party' and 'Privacy'. It samples the Kevin Lyttle classic 'Turn Me On' and is arguably more radio-friendly than Loyal or Ayo. Only question mark is the song is barely over two minutes long.
  19. Never thought I'd see Yungen and Yxng Bane in the iTunes Top 20!

  21. I'm genuinely only having a joke.
  22. Today marks 15 years of BBC Radio 1Xtra! There have been numerous articles already championing the impact the station has had making black British music mainstream. There are a number of events planned to mark this celebration, but today each DJ will play an hour of music from each year 1Xtra has been on the air... already we've had classics from Nelly, Sean Paul, Ms Dynamite, Eminem, Shy FX, Wayne Wonder, DMX, Christina Milian, 50 Cent and more!

That ass is almost comically big though, lets not lie here.
  24. Think it's a toss up between the two DJ Khaled songs... Wild Thoughts might just shade it.
  25. Shhhhh 'its been ages since a female pop #1'.
