  1. 'Better Now' is still doing very well on Spotify, it sounds like a poppier 'rockstar'. I'd be very surprised if that wasn't a single.
  2. R8YwnQMQuJI The new video for 'Blue Lights', which is being re-promoted and has been playlisted by Radio 1. Still probably her best song for me!

This feature makes sense, Steel Banglez is on a roll right now.
  4. This is as good as I expected.
  5. Completely forgot 'How We Roll' even existed! Sounds painfully dated now, no idea how it got as high as #2. 'My Life' is a shout too, I remember loving that for about two months before rarely playing it ever again.
  6. A new month, a new set of recommendations! Again, this thread is primarily for songs that wouldn't support their own thread but are worthy of bringing to your attention: Ella Mai - Boo'd Up 6YNZlXfW6Ho This is blowing up on American urban radio and the video for this smooth R&B track premiered last week. Ella Mai has been on my radar for a number of years, but this looks like being her breakout song and sounds perfectly suited for summer! For fans of female pop-R&B. Khalid ft. Ty Dolla Sign & 6LACK - OMW hjf-h6NMj7U People may have already heard this, seeing as its been hovering just outside the Spotify Top 50 since release, but this is the most instant Khalid song to date for me! Simmering production and an infectious chorus, I wouldn't be surprised to see this catch on over the coming months. Loski - Forrest Gump MuHmOA_eaCc Loski is a British rapper currently making big waves on the underground scene. 'Cool Kid' was on heavy rotation by 1Xtra for two months and the follow-up sounds even bigger. On Hot Hits UK, this doesn't sound as afro-influenced as his peers but equally catchy. Keep an eye on Loski, he seems a perfect candidate for a crossover hit. Swarmz - Lyca y_a9_cSX0Tg 'Barking', 'Jumanji', 'German'.... this song by Swarmz sounds like a solid bet to emulate the success of the aforementioned songs! Not heard anything from him prior to this song, but the video has already received high viewing figures and has even broken the Top 100 on Spotify. Liking the vibe to this, sounds like something Kojo Funds would release. Mahalia - No Reply RVpnGM1S_50 Already a favourite on this thread, Mahalia has come through again with her latest release. Chilled, mellow R&B sounds good at any time of the year and this latest song doesn't disappoint. Saweetie - ICY GRL Wji4b2jjYOk If this was a minute longer, it'd be one of my favourite songs of the year. 'ICY GRL' has been out for a while, but only came to my attention after hearing it on the radio and there is something about this girl's flow that grabs your attention. It's not a slight to label this 'Cardi B-lite' and the production is on point too.
  7. Unlike Ramz, B Young & EO I have heard Belly Squad songs over the last year (Banana and Sun Goes Down are my favourites). I don't think they've quite got the pop-crossover sound of the aforementioned artists though. Especially with the Headie One feature, an artist who represents the much maligned UK-drill scene.
  8. Watchtower is a great shout - came on shuffle the other day and I struggled to think why it did so well. Must have been the Ed Sheeran feature. iLL Manors was such a surprising Top 10 too, great song which received lots of publicity at the time. Others I'd say: Fuse ODG ft. Angel - T.I.N.A. Wiley ft. Chip & Ms D - Reload John Newman - Cheating Showtek - Booyah (surprise Top 10, I mean listen to it now.) Tinie Tempah - Children of the Sun Shift K3Y - Touch (qualifies as forgotten and surprising I think, great little song though. Came out of nowhere) Flo Rida ft. Robin Thicke - I Don't Like It, I Love It DJ Fresh ft. Ella Eyre - Gravity
  9. I love 'Blackout', but I must admit I haven't heard it for a long time and forgot it went Top 10. I'd actually describe '6 Words' as forgotten too, which is a shame because it's one of my favourite chart hits of that era.
  10. I think 'One Kiss' is actually fairly unique in the current chart - has a garage/deep house type beat that will also appeal to a lot of people. For me, it deserves the success it is having.
  11. A more thought provoking question is what Top 10s are/will be forgotten since OA/OS and streaming became widespread? Think 'River' is definitely one.
  12. 'Freak of the Week' wasn't a surprise Top10 for me! It was bang on-trend and received heavy airplay. Still a regular during R&B sections of DJ sets. 'Level Up' is a great shout, haven't heard that in years. Sway had so much better (Still Speedin' for one).
  13. Don't hear Look Right Through anymore actually. To be honest, it's the lower charting songs like 'Au Seve' or 'Benediction' that get more recurrent plays in my experience.
  14. I don't think 'House Every Weekend' or 'I Wanna Feel' are forgotten really, they're both mainstays on dance compilation albums and in mainstream clubs. I just don't think it's a genre that will naturally get recurring plays on stations like Heart, but they both seem solid bets for the KISSTORYs of the future. Neither were defining hits of the deep house trend, but it's equally hard to argue that they're as forgotten as some of the songs here.
  15. I don't think heard this since about September 2015.
  16. Objectively, I'd also suggest these: B.o.B. ft. Bruno Mars - Nothin' On You David Guetta - Gettin' Over You Flo Rida - Club Can't Even Handle Me Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath Jason Derulo - Don't Wanna Go Home Dappy - No Regrets Cover Drive - Twilight Chris Brown - Turn Up The Music Maroon 5 - Payphone will.i.am - This Is Love Ne-Yo - Let Me Love You (a lot of trend-hopping dance-pop in this section) The Saturdays - What About Us Aloe Blacc - The Man will.i.am - Its My Birthday (jokes this even got to #1, but terrible song) Rixton - Me and My Broken Heart Cheryl - I Don't Care Tinie Tempah - Not Letting Go (like this song but completely forgot it went #1) ZAYN - Pillowtalk (considering the hype I barely remember how this goes) Generally speaking, streaming has eliminated these non #1s that were so common earlier this decade. This list also goes to show that chart position isn't as important as a song's real impact. Also, getting to #1 seems more of an achievement now so perhaps the chart-toppers from recent years have a better chance of being remembered than some of the entries here.
  17. 'Blurred Lines' not getting enough recognition here.
  18. No worries man! Liking the adds for J. Cole.

  20. Great to see Shakka doing so well here, as has been mentioned he's only really had 1Xtra support! The song has been floating around for months and is a very summery record. He's a prolific artist too, so this will hopefully be his biggest hit since 'Say Nada'.
  21. Hope to see Post Malone do well!
  22. Album out today! Sounds interesting on first listen, production varied and very melodic as to be expected. 'Better Now' is on the NMF playlist and is very catchy, and the Swae Lee song sounds potentially big. Post your thoughts here, dependent on interest an album rate can be arranged!
  23. That sounds more like it!
  24. O-fydBL9g_k After scoring a hit with 'iSPY' this time last year (to the dismay of large swathes of Buzzjack), US pop-rapper KYLE. is on the verge of achieving another hit with this effort. Linking-up with Kehlani, 'Playinwitme' is a catchy pop-rap record that should sound very good in the summer months to come. Personally, this is more instant than 'iSPY' ever was but I'm not sure it will have any longevity. However, this does sound like it belongs on the Capital playlist at the very least.
  25. Excited for this!
