  1. Kylie = Body Language, really like the bonus track, slo motion, you make me feel etc. Love the concept of the album & the album tracks more than the singles Kiss me once, pretty good album, love the modern production (her voice aside) Dannii = always find myself listening to Unleashed & Club Disco -do you believe me now - sunrise -gone -im sorry -good times Love ALL the unleashed tracks as they are more rnb pop dance Favourties -undeniable -invitation -it wont work out (single mix) -love me like this -bad weather -soendyour love -viva la mor Btw, each finger has an attitude (although dannii didnt want to include it as its apparently not finished) sounds similar to viva la mor, same style dont u agree..
  2. Hey guys, I have the 4 tracks in 128KB when they initially leaked in 2011 I herd they were re-leaked in HQ? if any of you can help a now fan out, please direct me to a link or if you can send the songs, would be greatly appreciated Unleashed is my favourite album / era for Dannii, particularly with the more Pop /Rnb experimental sound / phase I genuinely think she wanted fans to hear these tracks as Nathan mentioned she really wanted them on the release based on the initial tracklisting released for Unleashed WIth the inclusion of Viva la mour and these tracks, thats approx 16 new tracks from that period (basically an album of work) Thank you in Advance!
  3. I got into Dannii during the xfactor 2007 & thought she looked hot (especially with her long hair) lol A friend loved both minogues, I don't mind Kylie but really dislike her whiney voice, so I asked him what danni's latest releases were He mentioned 2 new albums, unleashed & club disco I only remember her i begin to wonder and put the needle on it videos So i bought both & gave her music a go Automatically loved the Unleashed album over club disco, particularly as i always wondered what happened to her after i begin to wonder. As i wasnt a fan i didnt know about her recording a follow up and it being cancelled and then released during x factor. This ended up being Unleashed Club disco has grown on me, good overall cohesive album Also like neon nights, so i bought most of her albums and summer of love on itunes to support her during the time all her music was re released Was lucky enough to have taken a chance on club disco when i saw it at JB not to know only a small number of copies were produced and now that its a rare and special item I think Danniis releases are just as good if not better than kylies same year releases Girl, neon nights and unleashed / clubdisco I dont get sick of her music, easy to listen to over n over I just think the 2nd remix CD on neon nights is pointless and mainly instrumental. Remixes sound old. The remixes on unleashed r way better.
  4. Billboard Magazine End Critics 2007, Dannii made number 10 with both releases 10. Dannii Minogue, "Club Disco" (All Around the World)Kudos also to her "Unleashed" album (Rhino/Warner Music UK Ltd.). Both are archival collections representing some of Minogue's best work.
  5. As we know, there is a shortage of interviews, interest or promotion when it comes to Dannii's recent albums, or as Nathan Smith puts it, Fan releases. I only got into Dannii while she was on X factor & a friend mentioned both these albums as her most recent. I have posted as much information as I can from Nathan regarding how these 2 albums came about in another post, I think under a Dannii appreciation thread, as I find these releases quite intriguing. Had Dannii not gone onto X factor, these releases (including the deluxe editions) wouldn't have seen the light of day and the last album would have been the greatest hits which isn't much. If you count the 1995 sessions, she has at least 7 full albums (including unleashed material) if anyone has any clippings or interviews or information, be it quotes from Dannii regarding both Unleashed & Club disco, would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to try & figure out how to upload some pics lol Below is an interview where she talks about both Unleashed & CLub Disco www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCGVcm5Uo9Y This interview, she mentions the Australian Release of Club Disco www.inthemix.com.au/features/36258/Dannii_Minogue_Club_culture She mentions the album is a gem. I personally like her Warner / London output, particularly if you think of perfection on it's own or YWFAM, they sound a little cheap (AATW) however, as a whole, its a pretty cool dance album, with the inclusion of the afterlight remixes, the remix CD and the Chillout tracks such as "Do you believe me now" etc. She mentions she wanted to create a cool package, she did alright with her limitations with the label. Anyway, if anyone has anything further, would be greatly appreciated. Still trying to figure out how to upload pics from an actual file, rather than a weblink. I have a few more interviews regarding both albums if anyone is interested as there was limited press. Dannii is asked directly about making the albums and how she raided the warner vault etc. Thanks!
  6. I think kylie focuses primarily on singing and has ongoing training, therefore she can hit notes but the actual sound of her voice really isn't nice at all. Sounds like a helium balloon, particularly if you listen to her wiggles feature without background sounds to drown her out. I'm sure they would have treated her vocal anyway but really bad Dannii has a fuller voice Someone like JLO has a whiney voice also though not that bad however, shes a jack of all trades and doesn't just rely on singing.
  7. WOuldn't you think she would open for her sister, as Kylie's management and label and spend millions on her tours, why wouldn't they allow Dannii to open which will help her out. Its not rocket science. That way, she would have access to lighting, a decent stage (rather than a tv set) and visuals
  8. Her voice sounds horrendous!!! goes to show you she is a product where her management and producers are smart to hide her nasal whiney voice Dannii has a much richer, fuller and deeper sound to Kylie
  9. If u notice, she must have used an Arab make up and hair artist as she looked good and similar to some of the lebanese artists. they are usually good with fashion and hair and make up You can tell from her hair and make up.
  10. I wasn't ever into Kylie or Dannii, All I remember of Dannii is "Put the need on it" and "I begin to wonder" during high school, where I preferred her music and voice and thought she was hotter than kylie. After her fame peaked in 2007 with X factor, I found out her entire music catalog would be re-released with the addition of her 2 aborted 5th albums, "Unleashed" & "Club Disco" I was more interested in these as they are her more modern output. I only own albums as the Limited Edition ones I purchased already have remixes on them. ALBUMS: Girl (Deluxe) Neon Nights (Deluxe) Unleashed Club DIsco (Physical) This is it Very Best of Singles Summer of Love (Itunes)
  11. Just realized I bought kiss me once based on sexercise & sleeping with the enemy Fine & les sex and feels so good are not bad though her voice really isn't attractive. When you listen to Dannii especially on Unleashed or any album her voice is so much more fuller and stronger which makes the nasalness tolerable as for kylie its pretty bad Jlo also has a nasally voice though it is not as bad
  12. One other thing, as you can see I have done a lot of investigating with her interesting releases lol I've included the info above from Nathan, though I asked him at one stage, even though Unleashed is my favorite of hers due to its more modern and laid back pop / rnb sound, I mentioned to Nathan, the follow up tracks to Neon Nights for the proposed next album (now Unleashed) flow nicely, though there are no tracks that standout to be singles should this have been released, & Nathan mentioned that work on an album consists of 50-60 tracks which tracks are selected from. As for the 2nd London Records album he mentions they may not have particularly made it onto the album though Dannii selected them for Unleashed. Based on what I have read, it sounded like the album was halfway done & not completed so it is smart of Dannii / Nathan to release most of the tracks she worked on with fresh remixes of her best singles from Warner (Girl / NN) as if they were not on there, there are no standout singles on Unleashed had it been released back then or on their own. As you can tell I was never a fan & then took a chance on Club Disco & Unleashed based on a friend's recommendation & i wanted these 2 as she was on x factor and her most recent output and they had all her singles basically on both releases... I automatically preferred the production and sound of her Warner work on Unleashed. Although club disco is not bad as a whole... I then bought the 2 re-releases of NN & Girl. Girl is ok.. though I still don't get why ppl rave on about it, maybe because i was too young and it has a nice retro sound nowadays, i don't mind everybody changes, ALL i wanna do, everything i wanted, am i dreaming etc. it does take you elsewhere this album though as i've mentioned, I prefer the radio / single mixes of the singles off girl & Neon Nights on UNleashed. Sounds more fresh and updated. Would love to hear from all Dannii fans on her last few releases and their opinions Does this clarify? ok, no more essays from me.
  13. Read this entire overview of Dannii's music career: ....... ..............http://theqhblend.wordpress.com/2013/02/26/mighty-fine-dannii-minogues-neon-nights-turns-10/ A great read & look back on Neon Nights (her most successful era) I like how the writer explains her work after Neon Nights... How she started a follow up (which is now Unleashed) and that the sound was a little poopier / R&B which can be herd on Unleashed. Based on what I've read, Neon Nights, although an intriguing and different album at the time, it was a small success. For such a big record label and the success of the singles the entire album has sold no more than a couple of hundred thousands all up. Luckily we got to have the Re-release which included everything from the vault / that era for fans. & it also discusses some of the decisions with AATW and how Club Disco finally appeared strangely after the Greatest Hits package. Dannii was on the money trying to follow up with another album immediately after Neon Nights rather than releasing another single (which the single version is now on Unleashed, "it won't work out single mix) though I don't think it would have done well hence why the label put her in a difficult position. AATW obviously stalled her career with a single each year rather than a follow up album After reading about her interesting music career, at least all that she has released, all that is in the vaults is all out should she want to start fresh in the future All the fans saying I wish there was more mileage with Neon Nights or other albums to follow, well we kind of got them... Her popularity might be decreasing but we ended up with 2 aborted 5th albums Unleashed & Club Disco which are a great sum up together of her overall recent work She mentioned in an interview that she raided the Warner vaults with Unleashed and now we have the best remixes that update the sounds on Neon Nights / Girl singles and the follow up work on the next album. 14 tracks in total if you include Viva La mour and the 4 Korpi songs that leaked Any thoughts / opinions on the above and the article?
  14. umm.. It would have definitely sold more than that as it went Gold in the UK which is 100,000 & Gold in Australia which I think is 35,000 copies... Though you can assume it certainly did not reach the 500,000 mark. Critically & success wise it was her best commercial album & I think most agree her best output / era releasing music. Although liked much more by fans than Kylie's releases at the time etc, people assumed she would go on to making many more albums, though from the labels perspective selling under a few hundred thousand is not profitable. As for a proper follow up, I am so glad Unleashed was released as it is pretty much an album of what she was working on after Neon Nights and slightly different / modern. If you include the leaked tracks fear of flying, weak etc you have at least 14 tracks. She then followed with Club Disco eventually which is a polished studio album. If her & Nathan did not push for these releases and the Re-releases of Neon Nights / Girl etc she would not have much of a back catalogue. I guess as fans we have at least 4 studio-ish albums that are not too dated like her old stuff (Club Disco, Unleashed, Neon, Girl).. she is apparently working on stuff now in 2014, guess we will see what happens. Might be her last bit of output. Though for someone who does not sell enough and constantly moves labels, we have pretty much all that she has done. Good way to close her music career.
  15. At the end of the interview, she sings "All I wanna Do" Live, sorry guys but a much nicer voice than Kylie. Not so whiney and also strong. Still similar but she def has the voice ...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zu_duYbX4KA & here a diff take on "All I Wanna Do" ...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlkfobFL95k her voice is also strong, as u can tell she is out of practice as she rarely performs as much as Kylie. Her voice cracks once or twice. She should open for Kylie and release a new album. As for the Girl album, people rave on about it, I bought the deluxe remastered edition, the remixes are all dated. The only songs I like are "All I Wanna Do" & "Everything I Wanted" and mind you, the remixes on Unleashed make them sound modern. Going to sell this Rare album it's actually on ebay right now.
  16. ALSO THIS IS WHAT DANNII SAID BEFORE SHE RELEASED CLUB DISCO "21/06/05 Dannii speaks about her new material: "My new album will be really dance-y and lush. I can't wait for it to be released. It will bring other elements to my sound, but keeping in the groove that I found with Neon Nights. I try to walk the thin line between pop and dance and have spent a whole year writing, and have tried to come up with something fresh. I have worked with some of the same producers as Neon Nights, and some new ones. This album will not be the retro 80's electro sound of Neon Nights, as I feel I have done this already. My main aim is heavy-fat-bass-lines, I love that thumping feeling. Hopefully I have topped Neon Nights, which was made with lots of love." It is obvious, the work she did with London Records Post Neon Nights (unleashed) still sounded like Dannii but was a little more modern & experimental ... The Neon nights documentary on the Video COllection DVD cutt out one section which is still on youtube where she discusses what would have been the 2nd London Records album (neon nights follow up) though due to the record label issues etc she signed with AAW. AAW sounds like a cheaper label & it is very clear the quality of music dropped with Touch me Like that, etc... Perfection / Sunrise / Round the world / gone / i'm sorry & some tracks on club disco are cool but I still prefer the quality and sound of Unleashed / Neon Nights (Warner)
  17. Hey everyone, so I thought I would write about how I became a fan, or ended up having some of Dannii's music on my shelf. Also, I have some cool information which clarifies Dannii's UNLEASHED & CLUB DISCO releases for fans from Nathan Smith. A mate of mine who is into the Minogue sisters kept telling me how Dannii released some new albums in 2007 (Unleashed / Club Disco) I was in JB one time & noticed they had Club Disco in the new section. Dannii looked hot on the cover & without having any knowledge about her music, I looked at the back & the whole concept of the album looked like a "clubbing" album. At the time, I thought maybe similar to Ministry of Sound lol as apparently she was Dance. Anyway I picked up the album and also wanted some songs from her peak period. Looking back, I remembered I begin to Wonder & Put the Needle on it videos where I first saw her when I was younger & thought she was hotter and had better music than her sister. Something different, though never took a chance on the album when I saw it at the time in stores. So my mate mentioned UNLEASHED has all her singles from the last few albums and some new tracks / remixes. Listening to both albums, I automatically liked the sound on Unleashed, the remixes of the hits from neon nights sounded more modern in 2007 & I liked the cruisy feel of the unreleased tracks (her work post neon nights on the Warner Label) Club disco, although the artwork and theme looked way better than the overly camp unleashed cover (what was she thinking) though the music sounded very B grade and plastic. Didn't mind the album but really liked Unleashed. BTW, if you are a casual fan & like her recent stuff, if you purchase Club Disco & Unleashed u basically have most of her discography as they both include majority of her work with both Warner & AAW labels really. No need for the hits & beyond. Anyway, after reading up about her and doing some investigating (haha as her releases and decisions are quite interesting), I bought Neon Nights & Girl Re-releases as she was on X factor. I like Neon Nights re-release as that was her peak I guess. Still like the unfinished album on Unleashed. As for fans on other blogs continually whinging about unleashed and club disco etc, her management was smart to release all that she had as she isn't really with a label and u got what was in the vault polished up. Basically a few more albums I include Unleashed & club disco as album releases, more periods of time as the following is what Nathan Smith clarified about her music: "Hi, 'Unleashed' was not supposed to follow up 'Neon Nights'. The album was simply a collection of some of the best mixes of Dannii's Warner Music singles and some unreleased songs that we had permission to release. 'Heavy Disco' was also simply a collection of the AATW singles and a collection of unreleased songs from that period that we had permission to release. This was never the proposed album that Dannii was working on before the AATW project turned into a Greatest Hits collection. Best wishes, N. Unleashed, Club Disco and The 1995 Sessions were fan-only releases. Neon Nights remains Dannii's last studio album. N. Yes - the unreleased tracks on 'Unleashed' were recorded after Neon Nights, except for 'Blame It On The Music'. However they may not necessarily have made it onto what would have been the 2nd London Records album. Normally 50 or 60 songs are recorded for a new album. The tracks included on Unleashed were songs that Dannii loved but that we also had permission from the writers and producers to release. Sadly we were unable to obtain permission from some producers. Korpi & Blackcell being a prime example. Dannii would have loved to have included 'Healing On The Dancefloor', 'Karma Is A Bitch', 'Weak' and 'Fear Of Flying' - but we were, in a nutshell, not given permission. You'll notice the mixes of 'All I Wanna Do', 'Everything I Wanted', 'Don't Wanna Lose This Feeling', 'Who Do You Love Now?', 'Hide & Seek', 'Come And Get It' and 'It Won't Work Out' were previously unreleased or rare alternative mixes. Probably best not to over-think 'Unleashed' too much. It was released as a thank you to her loyal fanbase for their support as she was not going to be recording a new album during The X Factor. To pick up on a comment in one of your previous emails, the album was not released as a 'cash-in'. Given Dannii's increased profile after joining The X Factor, Warner Music wanted to re-promote Dannii's back catalogue. We did stop 'The Platinum Collection' being released as Warner 'forgot' Dannii owned the unreleased material and they also were including tracks that were unfinished. We feel we put together a better collection of music with 'Unleashed' and it's nice to hear you enjoy the album. Best wishes, N. Hope this clarifies more on her music, she may try release one final thing though in her early 40s, I think she has missed some opportunities, as fans at least we have at least 4 modern sounding albums that we can listen to, i don't get bored of her songs as they are slightly different to her sister and makes good background music. B grade pop at it's best. I own - Girl (Remastered) - Neon Nights (Remastered) - Unleashed - Club Disco (Physical) - THis is it Very Best of (I bought this as it has her older singles like baby love & Don't wanna lose this paid RNB sounding tracks) do not like the older albums to purchase them. Would be awesome to hear what other people own and also how they view Club Disco & Unleashed and which they prefer
  18. JARK- LOL kylie sounds like a helium balloon... As for bigger range I disagree, as I mentioned kylie definitely practices and actually sings alot more than Dannii Who is more of a studio singer who rarely gets to perform live due to being less successful. Otherwise, I think Dannii sounds fuller and stronger... Give us a review of her more recent output, would be interested to hear what you have to say :-) Other than Sensitized which is a cool laid back track and All I see & a few others, I actually found Unleashed (released same year) to have a cool vibe to it, i.e bad weather, no romeo etc. B grade but more listenable
  19. Def think she should have included more RNBish / Dubstep modern sounding tracks like skirt on the new album Actually bought the new album based on SKIRT. Kiss me Once has her signature dancey / modern sound, top notch production & some Rnb infused tracks I guess.. I like when Kylie tries her hand at mainstream & if she did a Body Language Part 2, though with today's modern sound, I think she would have made more of an impact rather than just pleasing existing fans. Overall, Skirt & some of the remixes ONE OF HER BEST TRACKS FOR ME. Especially the bridge. HOT!
  20. 1) Body Language 2) Aphrodite 3) Kiss Me Once 4) Fever 5) X 6) Light Years (worst album)
  21. Most of these have been purchased for me. Dannii: Girl (Deluxe Reissue) Neon Nights (Deluxe Reissue) Unleashed Club Disco (Physical) This is it very best of Kylie: Kiss Me Once (Deluxe) The Albums Boxset (Only wanted Aphrodite though got it as a gift) Abbey Road Sessions with WOW bonus track Body Language Japan Version (Slow / You make me feel) Slow Single / Soul on Fire Red Blooded Woman Limited Oz Edition with Cruise control feat Sean Paul
  22. Always found Dannii to be the hotter sister, and funnily enough, her voice (although similar and thin) is not as nasally and sounds stronger than Kylie. I think Kylie tours more and records more so she is in practice though Kylie's voice is very thin and limited. Annoying at times without good production. Dannii although similar sounding, sounds fuller and not as annoying. Anyway, fans rave on about Neon Nights, yeh its a great moody / retro sounding album that isn't too camp. I personally like the chilled out sound of the Unleashed album. I know this album was unfinished and u can tell she polished it up last minute from the vault, though I like this album the most. Dannii is more B grade with a slightly different style to kylie. I like her songs in the background.... BTW the remixed versions of the songs from Neon Nights on Unleashed make them sound more modern if you tire from the retro sound. In order 1) unleashed 2) Neon Nights 3) I guess not many options if you are a casual fan, I don't like the old stuff, though Club Disco The cover is hot, then you open it up and see her with all these drag queens, no offence, though I am not gay. I have a gay friend who insists on buying me Dannii & Kylie albums, so i buy him stuff I like haha Anyway Club Disco sounds B grade and very plasticy shiny.... Some songs are ok, like I'm sorry, Gone, Sunrise etc.... Though she openly said she did not want to go back and do another neon nights retro sound... Guess this will be the last album from her though that's my opinion on her music. She def is the better singer though Kylie must be business minded and has done well with producers and her label etc. Doe not mean she is the better singer. Aphrodite / Kiss me Once / Body language all good albums that mask her thin nasally voice as much as possible and good pop / Rnb at times.
  23. Hey guy, my name is Adam, this is my first post btw.. I am not a big fan or a follower of Kylie, actually a gay mate of mine at work bought me her albums (boxset) for a trade thingy at work, I bought him Trey songz btw haha. I never thought too much of Kylie, herd a few songs on the radio and thought she was hot, that's about it. The only album I have in my old CD collection is body language as I took a chance on that album at the time based on the Urban vibe on Red blooded woman etc. Now that I have herd all the albums, I would rank them in the following order. 1) BODY LANGUAGE: I like more urban styles of music, this is the closes Kylie will ever get to it. The production sounds polished & sleek. The album has a dark moody laid back kind of feel. I like albums like that you can play in the background and the whole album flows well. The bonus track Slo Motion is awesome. (you make me feel is aight) Also, theres one annoying track I think it was "I feel for you". A good album does not have to be filled with singles to be a good chillout album. Producers did well to find RNBish songs to suit her thin voice, it actually works in some parts on this album. Also, I feel Kylie was her hottest here, the whole album pics / image etc. (No offence, I am not into the whole overly camp and feathers thing that her fans like at times) Loving days is sexy. This album got some really good reviews internationally. 2) APHRODITE: Having herd Fever, I think this is a more modern version that flows much better. Production is awesome...Her voice sounds thin / girlish haha but I guess this is her more natural poppy / dance style, that she does best. First 2 singles are really good. This is another album u can hear from beginning to end in the background, not necessarily commercial or radio singles, but more a home kind of listen. Only track I despise is the country sounding one "better than today" Actually hate it, the sound of the music is one you hear it Target or Big W and is quite annoying. I think its cool she did an album for her fans, as unless someone bought this for you, or you were a fan, not sure who would buy her music. Illusion is cool & closer. ALl the Lovers / Get outta my way BEST SINGLES I saw the Aphrodite concert online, & again... she had the feathers out and all these outfits lol did not like it. Though her body language concert and kiss me once at the end when she is in normal clothes, the woman is sexy. Overall, cool uptempo modern dancey classic kylie album. It's obvious this style of album is her most natural ahead of body language.Everything is Beautiful is a cool laid back track. 3) Kiss Me Once: Production is tight, sounds expensive & modern. And here, she is not only appealing to gay fans or the whole camp thing, its mixed. I find it baffling that alot of her gay fans (no offence) despise "Sexercize" lol I don't mind it. good track. Overall a very modern record where if you didn't know it was her I think alot of mainstream people would hear or take a liking to this album. Shame it is not selling well. I actually bought this to support her and because of sexercize haha. "Sleeping with the enemy" is also good. I think this album disguises her voice as you have to be objective is very nasally & thin. But the production covers it well. Honestly, the above are the only 3 I wouldn't mind if they came on in the background.... However just for this post, 4) Fever: Back when this came out, only saw her sexy videos and herd on the radio, would never have bought this album until I received it in the boxset. The singles including the track fever is good, though all the rest is dated and a little soft. Don't want to offend anyone though whats with the album cover lol. I think it's terrible especially for her best selling album. Body language / aphrodite much better. anyway singles are all awesome and sound similar. Her peak I guess 5) X. I liked "All I see" as it is RnBish.. offcourse majority of her fans disliked this track. I think it was good and was compared to janet jackson. Another mate of mine who is also straight didn't know it was her. I think non-fans wouldn't mind some kylie tracks she has good songs, though she needs the sex appeal and videos / production as her voice is whiney.... X was modern, speakerphone / nudity were cool. There is something about this album I like and hate. For e.g beginning of "in my arms" and "stars" "2 hearts" the music / sounds with her voice sounds so tinny and hurts my ears lol.... though cool she tried the electro thing. Wow was ok but sounds like a 12 year old recorded it. 6) Light Years only for the purpose of this exercise. On a night like this only song i don't mind, spinning around (those shorts!) and please stay are ok. Though again guys, no offence though to her gay fan base, I despise the whole feathers and overly camp thing going on. No wander she finds it hard to hit the mainstream oseas as her gay fans want her to keep parading around in feathers and make overly girly music (no offence as I have gay friends and I am an open minded guy, for God's sake I am writing an essay haha) though when she does more dancey, urban, electro or say SKIRT what an awesome track and the production, though the fans get all upset and want to drag her back to Light Years etc... Do not like this album though each to their own. Don't get the whole boat thing lol. Thought it would be cool to provide my perspective and opinions on her albums... top 3, Body Language / Aphrodite / Kiss me Once (Fever singles) Saw her performance of sexercize at the itunes festival online, HOT! & in the end in that skirt, damn. WOuld be awesome to hear back from you guys on what you think. Cheers
