Naaah...the songs you're mentioning are the later poppier end of the band..... their first few albums are the best - the single/EP Bruises especially great. I saw them supporting Bowie on his Sound and Vision tour in 1990..... also, saw them and Fields of the Nephilim in Cardiff in the 80s... yes, they got poppier as they went on, but the earlier stuff was far from poppy. And it's bizarre that they didn't have huge hits with the later material..... seriously great pop songs. They hail from Porthcawl in South Wales..... my mate Boyd was very friendly with them..... and went to Michael Aston's wedding before the band were popular...... I've seen the wedding photos.... all prog rock hair and crimplene flared suits...... nothing like their 'gothy' image that came later on.....

  4. Sorry late entering this week..... http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/blissfulignorance_2008/toriff.jpg
  5. ....we're inhabiting a VERY bizarre site when there's so many people here who think Destinys Child's Independent Women is genuinely a weaker single than SClub 7's Reach..

Agree about the Manics. Fat middle aged grumpy old men. Doing Clash pastiches. In eyeliner. It was never gonna end happily. And certain not prettily. And Reveal... Just played it again - it's still great I think. Was never a fan of Monster though must be honest.

A sad bit of news.... for fans of solid, honest to goodness musicianship and songwriting. The exact reason they're just not that popular any more (and why this thread has such shamefully few replies). I agree that Reveal was their last truly excellent piece of work, but their 80s output was never beaten in my eyes. Its a shame Joe Public only remember bands like REM for the 'big hits' because their biggest hits, minus Losing My Religion, always seemed to be their weakest songs (I can't forgive Shiny Happy People). Just as I could never forgive their consistently ugly artwork. Hard to pick just one favourite I think....
  8. How can anyone here in their right minds think Dappy would make a "good number one"? It's a completely awful song by our most thoroughly FOUL pop 'star'. Vile vile vile.

They're still voting to oust Madonna - her nearest rival is Bloodhound Gang and Leanne Rymes....

http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=133927 is 'Music' REALLY the worst song on this list? :o  The numbnuts on this thread seem to think so - it's in the lead to get the chop at 5pm today...so... do what you do best... and save Madonna!

  13. I really like the images you've used, but I'd have a look at some other fonts and maybe move it from the bottom left - but it's your cover.... and I like it a lot :)
  14. It is reminiscent, agreed. Ceremonials is set to be one helluva stonking album... And the cover art is just beautiful!
  15. First, YUYI - :) - not sure about the font, though.....
  16. Leanne Rimes...of course.
  17. I think Goddess Bush has kind of deserted the 'single' these days..... I think it'll be just the album, with an array of limited editions etc. What worries me most is that she recorded this album at the same time as the Godawful Directors Cut..... so I'm imagining tuneless, aimless piano noodlings..... but I really really hope not, as, let's be honest, Kate Bush is second to none, but she has to work hard to erase the memory of Directors Cut which left many fans, myself included, a bit bruised and sceptical. Also, the cover art is absolutely rancid..... a friend of mine said it looked like one of the Christmas cards painted by people with no arms..... :(

er.... I think you'll find they do. Although the, ahem, "hot chicks" (are you being serious here???) are usually hot drag queens....
  19. Considering the absolute shit left on that list.... To say Music is the worst song on there is just ridiculous- far from Madonna's finest moment... but the WORST song on there???. And as for kylie.... She's a nice enough girl. But minus a single original thought in her pretty little head.... To have someone vote for a madonna track on a list that godawful - whilst having a Kylie Minogue sig... laughable.
  20.   ... whaaaaaat? Worse thean The Corrs, Bloodhound Gang, SClub 7... etc etc etc? Really? Methinks this is against the artist not the song..... even if your favoured artist 'borrowed' her whole act from Lady Ciccione.....
  21. bar the vile Kelly Clarkson, the HIDEOUS Rihanna single and Lily Allen, that's a pretty good top 15 by Buzzjack standards..... although Back to Black is head and shoulders above anything else in there.....
  22. me either - it's junk

  25. Had to be the divine Grace for me thuis week.... whatever one you think is best... go for it because I'm not sure... http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/blissfulignorance_2008/gracejoneshurricanedub1.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/blissfulignorance_2008/gracejonesfinaldub.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/blissfulignorance_2008/gracejonespinkneondub.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/blissfulignorance_2008/gracejonesneondub.jpg
