  1. I'd say 'Don't Look Back In Anger' is the greatest example of 'Oasis by Numbers'...... one of those records where you like the band but LOATHE their best known song......
  2. worse than Craig David or...shudder.. The Corrs? Come on....
  3. .... yet another example of BJ voting out not the songs but the artists - Oasis feature, shock horror, MALES?!?!?! And.... oh God no.. GUITARS?!?!?!? So it was always gonna end in tears for them, really, whatever song of theirs was on the list. I went for Leanne Rymes... an absolute abortion of a song.
  4. I'd imagine he's far too busy having in-depth meetings about the cultural importance of Coach Trip to even bother listening to Let England Shake... -_-
  5. Seriously great
  6. Agreed.... Middle-aged mum's muzak. Foul.
  7. I had tickets to see her in Cardiff tonight.... gutted she's postponed due to illness...
  8. Agreed.... Beautiful artwork, though...
  9. have to be honest, these were 4 major disappointments for me over the past 12 months.....
  10. agreed... yes she's had a terribly hard life.... she was in (officially) Britain's worst EVER girlband, she married the ugly chubby one from the world's worst EVER boyband...... she married a junkie taxi driver who bled her dry, she has a penchant for expensive class-A drugs.... and simply cannot survive minus the oxygen of publicity - let's face it, she'd flog her own kids for a 2-page spread and a cover-story in Heat magazine (in fact - I think she has, hasn't she?). She's vile. And Jedward.... JEDWARD?!?! Far from endearing themselves to the general public... I think they've made themselves even more of a laughing stock.....nothing they do or say is enlightening, intelligent, funny, noteworthy or interesting. Unless you have a mental age of six.
  11. What a tragic line up....... you've got Lucien who can't decide whether he'd make more money out of a heat magazine honeymoon cover and double page spread with Amy Childs or Kerry Katona. Then you've got the shallow, vapid, ghastly Childs herself - a woman so stupid she should come with a health warning..... a woman who can only speak in catchphrases (she's desperate to coin a catchphrase in therem, have you noticed?), and who makes Lily Savage seem under-dressed and made-up. Then you've got the 'Most Common Woman In The World'.... Kerry Katona.... a woman whose past has been so terrible, tragic and tumultuous (well, she did marry the fat gormless one from Westlife, what did she expect?), that anything BB throws at her, including a cockateel-haired barrel-bellied paparazzi pig, she can cope with no problem. Let's be honest, guys, this is hardly of the calibre of, say, Jackie Stallone eating nothing but peas, Pete Burns decimating Jodie Marsh and saying what we'd all LOVE to to this rancid sow, Rula Lenska playing pussy games with MPs or Vanessa Feltz having a messy meltdown with a piece of chalk and a kitchen able.... this Channel 5 line-up is just that - a Channel 5 line-up - z-list celebs pandering to the very lowest common denominator of 'celeb' lover. And does anyone else want to kill Brian Dowling? What were they thinking?!?!?!? Emma Willis would've been FAR FAR better as the main host...... Dowling is just rubbish, a man so wrapped up in his own importance, he doesn't even know it's not 10 years ago any more and NOBODY CARES.
  12. The problem with any award like this is that, historically, if they make an error, it comes back to bite them. There's the obvious Debelle incident a few years back.... but don't forget...... Amy Winehouse's Back To Black was shunned in favour of, ahem, The Klaxons, some years ago..... so if, say, Anna Calvi had won, 5 years from now, when people will still be buying and listening to PJ Harvey's masterpiece, people will be sneering at the winner of the 2011 award. The errors they made this year were the 'try to please everyone' nominations... to have any Best of 2010 list minus HURTS, Wild Beasts or Massive Attack, well.... daft, really.
  13. wow... VERY nice :D
  14. I've mentioned elsewhere that I'm not usually a fan of Harvey's... but Let England Shake is phenomenal..... the instrumentation is quite Kate Bush, the experimentation with ancient insruments etc..... very interesting..... and Florence... well, Florence has taken all the best bits from all the best females (Siouxsie most notably).. so if you appreciate her, I can't really see how you wouldn't 'get' Harvey.
  15. There were some cracking albums on the list - but I don't think a single one of them ploughed the emotional depths of Let England Shake - lyrically and musically, it's miles ahead of the pack. One of those albums where, each time you play it, you hear something new, some instrument, some little nuance, that ignites your love of the song all over again. I must admit, I've never been a fan of Polly, but Let England Shake is a career defining album. And one that, really, everybody should own.
  16. absolutely utterly not..... English Riviera is an absolute masterpiece, start to finish, as was their last album....and The Bay remains one of the greatest slices of pop music we've seen in 2011.

A really, really terrible, boring, simple show...... and let's be honest, all this pile of tosh is is yet another vehicle to trot out Cowell's very own special blend of bland muzak.... the abysmal Il Divo tonight, with JLS and One Direction to follow this week... dull dull dull.
  18. Westlife and Miss Scary.... two of my absolute LEAST favourite acts singing a positively rancid cover version :puke2:
  19. because this is Buzzjack... musical la-la land, that's why.
  20. 1. (best.... by a mile, let's be honest....) AMY WINEHOUSE - BACK TO BLACK 2 MADONNA - HUNG UP 3 KILLERS - SOMEBODY TOLD ME 4 GORILLAZ - FEEL GOOD INC. 5 OUTKAST - HAY YA! 6 GWEN STEFANI - WHAT YOU WAITING FOR? 7 KELIS - TRICK ME 8 TAKE THAT - RULE THE WORLD 9 BEYONCE - CRAZY IN LOVE 10 SUGABABES - FREAK LIKE ME 1 KILLERS - MR BRIGHTSIDE 12 KYLIE - CAN'T GET YOU.... 13 MARINA AND THE DIAMONDS - HOLLYWOOD 14 NELLY FURTADO - MANEATER 15 FRANZ FERDINAND - TAKE ME OUT 16 COLDPLAY - VIVA LA VIDA 17 LADY GAGA - BAD ROMANCE 18 ARCTIC MONKEYS - DANCEFLOOR 19 CHEMICAL BROTHERS - GALVANISE 20 TATU - ALL THE THINGS....
  21. 2001 must have been a sorry, sorry year to have these 3 names as the year's 'best'...... far from being a line-up of the year's finest, it looks more like what you'd find in any charity shop bargain CD single bin..... positively dreadful. Kylie is patently the best single here - it's kind of embarrassing and laughable that it's even being made to rub shoulders with excrement like Chronic Kittenm and SClub7....

  23. ;) :P I'm not serious you know. Well...
  24. oh dear....
  25. I like the song a lot - it's an abysmal cover though (that font...eeeeek). The thing that strikes me about the new single is she's obviously dug out her Siouxsie and Kate Bush albums again...... it's rare for an artist to wear their influences so boldly - power to her..... I still think Lungs was disappointing though (apart from the singles.... hmm.... there was a load of filler in all honesty).
