  1. Shakira - TERRIBLE song.
  2. Loved her first album, was completely unmobved by her second.... and this...hmmm... it does sound like she's not moved on at all.... and I really dislike the artwork.... but saying that, all 3 of her albums have had atrocious artwork.
  3. your best in ages..... And Cremey - ta - but yours is a massively deserved top 3'er..... mine was never gonna do anything when people were giving it 3's and 1's
  4. Shakira - both of her songs on this list are vomit-inducing.... but Underneath Your Clothes snatches my vote - once again, she sounds like she's gargling phlegm when she sings. Or choking on a flip flop.
  5. I was really looking forward to this..... until I read the foul Brian Dowling was hosting.... he's a man even I want to queerbash...... ghastly.
  6. How the feck are totally RANCID songs by Holly Valance and Shakira getting zero votes.... ? Is it just because they're so uttrerly awful nobody really gives a shit?

  11. ?!?!?? 'Heaven' is an absolute toe-curling cheese-fest - dreadful Euro 'dance' muzak for folk whose knowledge of the genre spans to a Ministry of Sound compilation album once a year. TERRIBLE.
  12. The contrast and colours are up quite a bit on the 2nd one..... but you're right, not a massive difference.
  13. Thanks for the votes, those that did, I'm well happy, thank you. This week it's Glasvegas - but first or second one....? http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/blissfulignorance_2008/glasvegas.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/blissfulignorance_2008/glasvegas1.jpg
  14. Daniel Bedingfield! There's never ever ANY excuse for artists as bad as him. Or his sister. Yeuch.
  15. The album cover is a definite blip for a lady whose artwork is (usually) always second to none.
  16. Atomic Kitten - TTIH..... the aural equivalent of bile.
  17. I know what you mean about the singles - I genuinely can't think of a greater batch of pop singles in quite a few years - and not one of them has been a serious hit...... I see they're re-releasing Wonderful Life..... although I can't see it doing much again. 'Happiness' is a solid, brilliant and astonishing debut. I definitely thought it would have at least been nominated, and wouldn't have been surprised if it had won...... that it's been ignored is just.... WTF?! :o Oh and Wild Beasts - it's a beautiful album - how their previous album was nominated and not this one is very odd.... this is by FAR their greatest work, but looking at the nomiations, they really don't reflect what a great year it was for Brit music apart from PJ and Metronomy.... :( Every year the Mercury lessens in credibility and importance...... the nominations have barely been mentioned in today's press. Looking at this lacklustre list, it's not hard to see why.
  18. Metronomy or PJ Harvey - easily. I'm shocked and seriously disappointed at no HURTS or Wild Beasts - two of the finest albums of the past year no question :(

actually, there's promos featuring snippets of the album doing the rounds at the moment - as a fan you'd surely have one or have heard of these....? All I can say is - all the tracks featured (inc. Waves)... the originals are, of course, 100% better.
  21. I was shocked at Kate Bush, too... also, no sign of Alison Moyet or Sade?
  22. Agreed - and a completely misguided first single from one of her finest albums (first single should've been Sunset, Nocturne or How To Be Invisible) :(
  23. Atomic Kitten - Tide Is High - if Debbie Harry were dead, she'd be turning in her grave at this ghastly cover..... (even though the Blondie song was a cover itself.... orig. by John Holt... doubt any one of Chronic Kitten knew that, mind, bless 'em)
  24. Soft Cell - Tainted Love Blondie - The Tide Is High ABBA - I Have a Dream ABBA - Dancing Queen The Human League - Louise REM - Shiny Happy People B-52s - Love Shack Yazoo - Nobody's Diary Depeche Mode - The Meaning Of Love Depeche Mode - Love In Itself Kate Bush - Rubberband Girl Kate Bush - King of the Mountain Alison Moyet - Invisible Alison Moyet - That Ole Devil Called Love Jesus Loves You - Bow Down Mister David Bowie - Blue Jean Morrissey - You're The One For Me Fatty Morrissey - Ouija Board Ouija Board
