  1. He looks like he's eaten a SpaceHopper in this video...... I was checking Hounds of Love yesterday - Coltrane's thanked in the credits for the album, so he's a long-time friend obviously.....
  2. Oh great..... Hunters and hunted? Hmm..... sounds like a theme Kate Bush has explored many times over many years...... "Tonight Matthew I'm going to be........."
  3. I'll echo this - the song is a vile, cheesy pile of sludge that Sharon and Darrens play on their Misery of Sound compilations from the open windows of Ford Corsas...... and don't even get me started on the rancid video.....
  4. err...that was my point...... I'd expect irony to be lost on Americans...but... As for Director's Cut, I've had a review copy... and.... umm..... I don't like it one bit. The new versions of This Woman's Work, And So Is Love, the revamped Sensual World, Flower of the Mountain... the whole album sounds lazy - some of the tracks, the backing track is exactly the same...and the others, the ones where she's let rip a bit - they just don't work.
  5. I really love the band... but.... I just can't take his vocals over a whole album. One reviewer likened Wild Beasts to latter day Talk Talk and Mark Hollis - it's a very good comparison......
  6. same - appalling, limp cover version....
  7. SPOT ON!!!
  8. Girls Aloud - a totally atrocious cover of a truly brilliant song.
  9. .... it's a bit...hhmm... obvious. Especially considering there's HEAPS of fantastic, inspiring releases out this week...... two adjectives I could never, ever attach to the shockingly bad Kesha..... :( Covers don't HAVE to have photos of the artists on them - the most beautiful ones rarely do......
  10. ...for all the wrong reasons.... it's the musical equivalent of dog$h!t..... and lyrically...it's like a simpleton six year old wrote it. Vile.
  11. no it wasn't lmao - it barely made the top 20 best sellers of the year, don't be daft. Her main audience is Latin America... but always remember... they're the lot who bought Gloria Estefan and Ricky Martin records... so they're hardly a good indicator of taste....
  12. My Humps? ;)     It got voted out because it's simply the worst top 20 single of the past 20 years - no contest. Musically and lyrically - completely retarded.
  13. well that's a list of the absolute worst singles on any of these lists, surely? Hips Dont Lie?!?!?! Whaaaaat?!?! You serious?
  14. My sentiments exactly... the Glee crowd arrived and voted for their camp poppets... out go Gorillaz....
  15. Sugababes - a truly humdrum, nonentity of a single.
  16. It does look a little like her..... the more I see this video, the less I like it.... cheap and nasty.... and she looks so fat and manly these days..... :o :o :( :(

An icon - XRay Spex were one of the first bands I really really loved... this is very sad news..... and so young too... awww...
  18. For such an influential video artist as Kate Bush, this new one is pretty appalling.... and I can only assume she's ballooned in weight again as she doesn't even appear in it anywhere (a first for her). Deeper Understanding? Deeper disappointment morelike... :(
  19. ABSOLUTELY Sugababes - the difference here is - Gorillaz and Madonna are both classic singles. Sugababes.... isn't.
  20. Push The Button - a very very average pop single.
  21. Quite... can't see Shaun Ryder in a skirt, myself....
  22. I'm staggered that $h!te like Kelly Clarkson is still in - is it because she's so bland and such a nonentity that people are just forgetting her? It certainly isn't because it deserves to be among the other 8 tracks here. Awful awful awful record.
  23. agreed - I can't believe vomit like Kelly Clarkson is still in a 'best of the year' competition - American MOR at its MOST offensive.

I managed to buy a vinyl album from the American Record Store Day (didn't even realise they had them over there).... the 10" pink vinyl 4-track 'Hounds of Love' by Kate Bush..... tracks and artwork hand-selected by the lady herself.... and it's GORGEOUS.

Bowie retired due to ill health - he's had 2 heart attacks and last year was reported to have had a stroke. As much as I'd love to see him again.... I think the chances are pretty slim.... :( And as fine as Bananarama are, I can't see Bowie liking their style much ;)
