  2. I do think Paradise Circus would make a stunning single - it's one of my musical highlights of this year - brilliant, brilliant track

  4. yikes... minus Sweet Dreams and Bad Romance, this competition has now turned into what songs would I absolutely never, ever, ever want to hear again as long as I live.... what a rancid selection of singles we have left.....
  5. Cher, I hope.... whilst she did a great version of 'Stay' last week - the song is a classic in itself, and pretty hard to get wrong... after all, she only sang the relatively easy bits. 'Stay' is also very difficult to get as perfect as the phenomenal original and, in all honesty, last week was passable - but nowhere near as great as it could have been. I think if she'd been required to sing the full song then it would definitely have shown up her obvious limitations as a vocalist, because Marcella Detroit Cher most certainly is not..... ^_^ Aidan gave one of the worst XFactor performances of all time last week... so if that performance didn't get shot of him, I'm not sure what will.
  6. Dreadful, dated, cheesy? yes - Kelly Rowland out, please....
  7. http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/blissfulignorance_2008/maaa.jpg The new Massive Attack single, 'Atlas Air' comes out on November 22..... here's the jaw-droppingly stunning video directed by Edouard Salier. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02CRCzYPJX8 Also, The Vinyl Factory are pressing just 1000 copies of the 12" - on heavyweight vinyl, yellow lumo glitter sleeve.... the last they did for MA was for Splitting The Atom - which initially cost £25 - and now sells for around £200 on eBay. A definite investment and a beautiful item, available here - http://www.vfeditions.com/product/view/23
  8. they also lead the way in sleeve design - always have - I love how you've used the single designs featured on the album on your cover, Sean - brilliant.
  9. Thanks for the votes last week to those that did... this week? It's the Pet Shop Boys' 'Ultimate'.... I thought, as they're a band who have always led the way with videos, then why not use their impeccable back catalogue of videos to form the 'best of' cover... see how many of the videos you can identify on the cover ;) http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/blissfulignorance_2008/petshopboysultimate.jpg

  12. but can he EVER be forgiven for the worst music video ever made? Plus some hideously cheesy carbunkles in his back catalogue? I think not...
  13. Perfect - Crystal Castles album is really pretty phenomenal - surely one of 2010's best so far.....
  14. some great songs in there, some pretty ok ones, too. Worth mentioning is Adam Ant's 'Apollo Nine - not for being a fabulous single, but for having one of the best outros ever. Favourite singles by Paul Young, a classic from Sisters of Mercy, the brilliant Strawberry Switchblade single (pure pop joy, that one), Depeche Mode bringing sado masochism to the charts, and some pop classics from Alison Moyet, Alphaville, Pointer Sisters and George Michael. All in all, bar the top 2, a very nice chart.
  15. It's hard to even compete with my favourite album cover of the year so far (check out the orgasmic Kate Moss photo on this album cover), so.... I'll try anyway - once again keeping the Roxy Music / Bryan Ferry tradition of beautiful, iconic ladies on their artwork.... here's my entry this week - Mr Ferry's 'Olympia'.... http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/blissfulignorance_2008/bryanferryolympia1.jpg
  16. fully agreed - Chris's cover was fantastic this week - inspired - LOVED it. Nick...I think I liked the red Rihanna better...

  18. True - but it was the only song he could've done, in all fairness.... I think Moyet's version of 'Head' is just incredible, though... and she looks a bit Kirsty-ish in these clips, too...
  19. The Slits were great - 'Cut'...LOVE that album... a sad loss... John Lydon's step-daughter too, no less.... :(
  20. Christina for me... but.. what colour..? http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/blissfulignorance_2008/christinapurple.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/blissfulignorance_2008/christinapinkblur.jpg
  21. I went to see them at Trinity in Bristol the other week - Trinty's a converted church in the Old Market area.... and..well.. they were nothing short of incredible...... his voice is spectacular live. Their cover of Kylie's 'Confide In Me' (surely her finest moment) was pretty awesome, too. I'll also be seeing them in Cardiff in December as they're supporting Scissor Sisters.

Considering Katy Perry performed what is possibly the worst live performance this show has ever seen (barely a single word in tune), this is a daft question, really.....
  23. Christ, I'm glad Katy Perry wasn't facing a public vote, because after her downright painfully awful and off-pitch performance on Sunday, she'd have been joining Storm Lee and the 2 irritating camp ones..... that has to be XFactor's worst ever live performance....ouch.
  24. Dandy and Sean should've joint won thus week.... both covers were perfect- Dandy's stunning image - perfect for Antony and the Johnsons... and Sean's for the volume of work he put into his cracking Robbie cover (perfect perspective, too - tough to do that). But thanks to anyone who voted for mine
