Do you think Viv will die? They say her exit will be 'moving'.... usually involves a death?

Phil Jupitus and gang - There's a Guy Works Down The Chip Shop Swears He's Elvis Kim Wilde - They Don't Know Alison Moyet - Head (this is...... superb...and possibly my favourite Kirsty song :o  ) Billy Bragg - A New England Amy MacDonald - Fairytale of New York

  6. his tracks, yes... but Yoko's tracks.... superb.... Give Me Something, Everyman Has a Woman and Kiss Kiss Kiss.... love them tracks....
  7. SKOB - The Art of Falling Apart is a masterpiece - their best album IMO. Their comebacl album a few years back was rather brilliant, too. Today I've been listening to Yazoo's 'Reconnected Live' - a perfect live album - and a great example that, like Soft Cell, when a group reconvenes after a long hiatus not only are they as good - they can actually be better - phenomenal.

The Smiths, of course... one of the finest songs ever written - musically and lyrically - perfect.

Do we know if this is actually the end for... the person in the crash?
  10. worthy winner! Does anyone kow if djcharly plans a return? Hope so.... This week I've done Cyndi Lauper.... if you see what I mean... http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/blissfulignorance_2008/cyndilauper.jpg

Tonight's episode, bar some hammy acting from Holly and Jackson, was nothing short of magnificent.... Emmerdale deserves every single one of the soap awards this coming year (including Danny Miller as Best Actor - the award he was robbed of at the Soap Awards earlier this year)- it's head and shoulders above the rest, even when it's going through a lean patch, the writing and acting still beats Eastenders hands down.
  12. That's the one, SKOB.... love it. I always thought the Soft Cell b-sides and extra tracks were almost always better than the actual singles... what a shame this seminal band are really only remembered for Tainted Love.... my fave of theirs was 'Martin', the 12" that came with The Art of Falling Apart, and subsequently released on the CD re-issue - INCREDIBLE track. Today I've been listening to newer music.... Aeroplane, who did the fab remix of 'Williams' Blood' by Grace Jones, have released their debut - magnificent it is.... 'We Can't Fly' it's called... think Giorgio Moroder meets Moon Safari-era Air... very retro, very electro disco... just brilliant. Also, 'Sleepwalkers' by David Sylvian.... a compilation of his collaborations over the years - truly excellent... and one of the most gorgeous album covers I've ever seen.

Yes, Paddy fighting for his life could be the catalyst for the start of a relationship with Rhona, I was thinking that, too - but.... Jackson...I'm just not convinced that he's got staying power, or that Aaron would get so serious wiith the first fella he's had a bit with. I just wish Adam would dump his awful girlfriend, realise he's been gay all along and have a big old romp with Aaron. They sure would make a handsome couple
  14. Strange you should mention Non Stop Erotic Cabaret - I re-bought this CD this week - a Japanese import - with a superb extra CD of rare tracks, b-sides etc. There's an instrumental track, which was the b-side of their pretty humdrum single 'What!'..... it's called 'So'.... and it's absolutely fantastic. Canadian electro DJ Tiga uses it in his sets, and it also featured on his excellent 'DJ Kicks' compilation a few years back. Morrissey - Everyday Is Like Sunday Malcolm McLaren feat. Catherine Deneuve - Paris (Youth Mix) Yazoo - Winter Kills

  16. 2 dance classics in there - Golden Girls' sublime 'Kinetic' and Stardust - and a relly great Depeche single - otherwise, the worst chart I've ever seen on the retro page - truly abysmal.

agreed! He is a truly terrible actor, though - almost as bad as Holly..... who has to be soap's worst actress. So....the van crash is coming this week - who do you think will be left fighting for life (or even dying)? I have a feeling it'll be Jackson..... either him or Paddy, who I think will shortly, if he survives, be getting it on with Rhona. Do we have any idea? It won't be Aaron, as I'm sure in the snippets ad I've seen for it, he's seen running from the cash..... and anyway - Emmerdale won't lose its golden boy. For me, Emmerdale is our number one soap right now. Superb storylines and on the whole, a stellar cast.

http://alisonmoyet.com/?p=1548 Interesting - Trevor Horn played a gig this week - his last as The Buggles..... and guests there included Alison Moyet, who performed the Horn-produced Grace Jones classic 'Slave To The Rhythm'.... as well as OMD, Propaganda's Claudia Brucken, Lol Creme...and Gary Barlow. This concert was a fund-raiser for the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (http://www.rhn.org.uk/) and raised about £85k that night through ticket sales, raffles and auctions. Here's 'Slave To The Rhythm'....
  19. Suede - Coming Up Black - Wonderful Life Yazoo - Upstairs at Eric's
  20. Now that Peter Savile's back into sleeve designs (check out the gorgeous new OMD album artwork), I hope he'll be designing the cover for this - his work on 'Coming Up' was beautiful - my favourite ever album cover.
  21. That's brilliant, sean.... I like how you've used Morrissey's penchant for having handsome young actors on his artwork, too - it works brilliantly.... your best yet
  22. Wow...thanks for that... chuffed! Great new week for releases... either Yazoo, Kylie, Morrissey, David Sylvian or Tricky for me this week I think.....
  23. Black really is an all-time classic... just one of those records that will be around for always and always remembered fondly... in fact, all the Black singles from his first 2 albums were classics. Hurts is superb, too..... but there's much better songs on the album (Illuminated  ). I like Gwen... but I can live without her 'Wonderfuil Life'... easily the weakest of the three.
