  1. Silver Lining and Illuminated are the standouts for me... and these were the ones I heard first a few months back..... just brilliant. The Kylie track's a bit hmmmm though... one of the weaker songs I think.
  2. It's not retro... but... I can't stop playing the Hurts album - for anyone into glorious, dramatic, 80s electropop - you can't go wrong - easily my album of 2010 so far - in fact, one of the best debut albums I've ever heard - magnificent
  3. Hurts obviously listened to a lot of Black before making this album..... and Black's song, wasn't that actually called Wonderful Life, too? :o
  4. that cover's even worse... crikey... terrible.... :o
  5. that's a jaw-clenchingly awful album cover.....
  6. http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2010/sep/0...itage-interview A fantastic interview with Sir Morrissey from today's Guardian - where he reignites a racism row after calling the Chinese a "subspecies" over their horrific treatment of animals..... so... is he right, wrong or just being Morrissey?

Marsh's previous credits have included Depeche Mode and The Chemical Brothers and also The League's last album Secrets in 2001. The working titles of the album's songs which may be subject to change are: 01. Never Let Me Go 02. Night People 03. Sky 04. Got To Do 05. Egomaniac 06. Single Minded 07. Electric Shock 08. Get Together 09. Privilige 10. Breaking The Chains 11. Stars Start To Shine It is believed that Night People is to be the first single. No release date has yet been confirmed by label Wall Of Sound Records for the so far untitled album but it will be out in time on to coincide with their forthcoming winter tour (December).
  9. Giorgio Moroder feat Limahl - Inside to Outside - a lost gem, really... Limahl and Moroder... it works well, believe it or not.... Arcadia - Goodbye Is Forever Brilliant - Love is War - LOVE this track....

  11. I kind of see where you're coming from - it's true that they're the bast*rd children of Johnny Hates Jazz, Danny Wilson, Waterfront (remember them?), Red Box etc.... but I don't know, they just sound.. right... in this current stagnant musical climate. And the imagery is just perfect - the whole Roxy Music / Visage type of sleeves.... the videos, clothes..... so, yep, I'm a convert. And the single deserves FAR higher than it looks like it's going to get.

whaaa? REALLY? I despise him.... horrid little man. :puke2:
  14. yikes... MUCH lower than I thought. It's a superb single, and I just love the whole Helmut Newton-style imagery they have. Gorgeous.

100% agreed. I still can't forgive him for munching his own snot, though, really.... :puke2:
  16. So is Wonderful Life going to be a number one single, then? Top 5? The buzz around it is pretty huge right now.....?
  17. weird this should be on here now... I've just bought 'In The Court of the Crimson King' again after having it for years on vinyl. The Japanese mini LP CD replica issue is going for superb prices on eBay right now... and it's a stunning package, definitely worth owning (for a fiver no less)..... and an even better album..... nothing like some arthouse prog to get your head bobbing. Love it
  18. your best... ever. BEEEEEEAUTIFUL

now that's pushing it :o Westlife are just the pits.... they make me bring up bile by even typing their name.
  20. hehe...it's way better than I'd have done ;) If anyone's troubled by the off-centre and off-kilter positioning of the Hurts name... I had to put it there... to cover that bird's nipples.... and pic didn't look right smaller or shifted across.

Makosi and Brian are still as completely vile as ever, then - I loathe Brian with a passion - he personnifies everything I loathe bout gay men..... and this is coming from a gay man. He barged my friend in Heaven in London once.... I nearly throttled him..... horrible creature. :puke2: Preston still looks as adorable as ever, though, and tonight's episode was pretty heartbreaking... Chantelle.... aww.... bless her. :(

I so, so agree... especially about the vile I Have a Dream.... and the dreadful Two For The Price Of One. And also the complete genius of The Day Before You Came which, if you mention to 90% of the 'new' ABBA fans, you'll be met with a puzzled look. Thankfully. It's one of the best songs ever written.... their masterpiece.
  23. cor!!!!! Your best yet - stunning stuff, Sean.... This week I decided to go for Hurts - love their plain, simple, monochrome designs - and their plagiarising of Helmut Newton's awesome photography style... so... here's Hurts..... versus Helmut, some glamorous lesbian chic :P http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/blissfulignorance_2008/hurtswl.jpg
  24. Thanks for the votes - sorry I missed voting - been away for the weekend.

Even Davina admitted on BBBM last night that shethought the 'vote to evict' was a mistake.... it's left us with THE most boring set of housemates ever in a BB final... Josie will win with a record amount of votes. Also, if Channel 5 do buy Big Bro (and I hope they do - there's oodles more life lleft in the format yet) then I hope they dump Davina... her interviews have always been awful - but her appalling interview with John James last night was surely the final nail in her coffin - she completely failed to take him to task on anything.... instead of putting him on the spot and grilling him about his seriously abusive behaviour toward women, she kind of laughed it off which was just unacceptable. I curl my toes watching her interviewing - she's really, really bad at it, never moreso than last night. The final 4 should have been Sam, Josie, Corin and don't care whether it was Andrew or JJ.... both insignificant. What a boo-boo by Big Bro....
