  1. Beautiful cover image. But I can't understand why she's releasing Blue Jeans. I thought it was a double A side with Video Games anyway? Plus, it's one of my least favourites on the album.
  2. Wow wow wow. Stunning! Thanks for the votes, to those that did. Great to see more votes last week too, always good to see people taking part, designing and voting.
  3. .... the stuff I've heard so far sounds like rancid Jessie J album tracks..... Primadonna is just beyond terrible - it's just...another pop song that sounds like every other pop song around at the moment. What the hell's gone wrong for MATD?

  6. Looking forward to this.... it's the first collaboration between Erasure/Yazoo member Vince Clarke and his ex Depeche Mode bandmate Martin Gore in over 30 years..... and the singles from it so far have been pretty damn excellent......
  7. Jonny - 2nd one I think ;) Crotch ( :o ;) ) ... 2nd one too.
  8. I think both him and his ghastly sister are completely and utterly loathesome.... and this whole pledging malarkey is just a bit desperate, let's be honest. Yes, he must have made a fair few bob from his couple of hits (I fail and refuse to remember a single one of them...really I do, so please no reminders)..... hmm... saying that, though, I'd imagine he blew it all on pies, bless his chubby little cheeks.

Definitely his mother - I think she overheard the rape admission and just got handy with that whiskey bottle. Why oh why have they brought Sean back? I was kind of hoping some gigantic crocodile would wolf him up in I'm a Celebrity or they'd just keep him locked up in solitary confinement in Oz for crimes against gayness... but no, he's back and camper and more ghastly than ever. He's only still in the soap because his best mate writes the thing these days. Ugh, I'm a gay man, and he makes even me homophobic. And I wish someone would lend Eileen that whiskey bottle - apart from a rare moment of lucidity when she screamed blue murder at Sean, I think the dementia storyline really has run its course. So it's either a miraculous recovery for her or imminent death because guys, this story just aint working.
  10. not touchy... I think you're one of the best entrants we have in this game (as I said last week - your winning cover was, IMO, the best winner we've had in months - and that's a hefty statement considering the quality we have in this game), but we all have off weeks.... and we all create covers that just don't click at times.... me more than most ;)
  11. The only 1 you got was off me. You say it as if you're gobsmacked abyone could dare to not give you high marks? I don't think anyone is above getting low marks. That's just the way it goes in this game. The burning issue here has to be..... No top three for Jonny? Whaaat?!
  12. Agreed..... I actually prefer it to Kick Inside, and it's definitely a better album than Red Shoes or Director's Cut. Talking of which...... here's my KB album rate..... Kick Inside - 6 Lionheart - 8 Never For Ever - 8 The Dreaming - 10 Hounds of Love - 10 The Sensual World - 8 Red Shoes - 5 Aerial - 8 Director's Cut - 3 50 Words For Snow - 8

  14. I like Hot Chip a lot (TERRIBLE live though), but I have to say, I don't think they've ever released anything as utterly fabulous as the (spin off project) 2 Bears album.... which is one of the finest dance albums of the past decade.

  16. errr...ok.  (unfortunately, the people who have commented on this, including myself... we've yet to make our debut album..... I can feel one brewing, though... ahem)
  17. very true..... his early solo material is jaw-droppingly excellent... and let's not forget him and Kate's Games Without Frontiers..... which still gives me goosebumps even after all this time. It's so refreshing to see a younger music fan like Daniel who's prepared to actually dig around for old music..... I thought in this disposable download only-now-is-important age, this kind of behavious had all but vanished. Thank God it hasn't. When I was growing up, my main musical joy was burrowing round and finding the origins of the current music I loved..... it opens your ears to a whole new arena. Never For Ever is one that most Bush fans barely mention...... strange considering it includes some of her finest work. I'm not keen on Babooshka, maybe I've heard it one too many times, but Breathing is phenomenal. The one I always love on NFE is Infant Kiss - if this song had been written today, Kate would've been hung, drawn and quartered by the tabloids...... it's such a brave and interesting take on the usually untouchable child abuse topic. The album I think is unfairly slagged off is Lionheart.... yes, it was rushed and some of the tracks could've been worked on a bit more..... but there's some fabulous moments on there, too.
  18. Ghastly artwork..... maybe it'd look better with 3D glasses?
  19. agreed - a few tweaks here and there and, yes, it sounds like a big hit single to me, that one.... maybe nearer the summer, though? 'Carmen' is a staggeringly awful choice for the next single.... and Blue Jeans? Um.... wasn't that the b-side/aa side to Video Games anyway? Which, in all honesty, is where it belongs. TIWMUG and National Anthem are the two blindingly obvious choices for the next single, I think... they're the 2 tracks everyone seems to highlight after hearing the album, anyway.....
  20. I think your winning cover is my favourite winning cover for months - it's stunning.... well deserved.
  21. were my votes discounted, then? I do love Jake's work normally, but I wasn't keen on his entry last week. Loving his one this week, though.
  22. Both great, Mikey (as was your cover last week....someone's on a roll!)..... I think I prefer 'B', though. And you'rwe right, the image is very Sylvian.....

  24. The last three covers submitted here are all deserving winners. All three simply stunning. Here's mine... http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/blissfulignorance_2008/schoolofsevenbells.jpg
  25. No, it isn't. As I stated, I work for a company delivering training for Work Programme... and I can assure you, the people we see through our doors who have never ever worked almsot ALWAYS come from families where their parents, grandparents have never worked either.
