Capital usually do play some songs for way too long and pass on other songs in the process. And they usually playlist a not as good song by an artist after snubbing a much better song (see Foxes being snubbed with Body Talk but playlisted with Amazing). They play this track constantly? God that must be horrible. It isn't even that good!

I prefered Chandelier, Big Girls Cry and Alive tbh. Although I do love Elastic Heart!

David Bowie remains at number one! Ashes To Ashes spends a third week at the number one spot, becoming the first song since Forever Young to spend two consecutive weeks at number one. Forever Young drops 13 places to drop out of the top 40 at #49 this week. At the top tier of the chart at least, Bowie's dominance is starting to dilute as the #2 position is held by a living artist for the first time in four weeks. That living artist is 18-year old Zara Larsson, whose hit Lush Life climbs 2 places to the aforementioned position. Climbing ten places to #3 is Coldplay with Hymn For The Weekend. It currently looks like a good contender to become the next number one by a living artist. Absolute Beginners falls two places to #4, one month ahead of its 30th anniversary. Unfortunately its association with the terrible film of the same film means it is vastly underrated. Little Mix also fall two places to #5 with Secret Love Song. The video being UK only fiasco could have incurred a harsh fall but it was available on Vimeo so this was averted. Heroes climbs back up two places to return to the peak of #6 it three weeks ago, while Lazarus falls two places to #7. The Girl Is Mine falls a place to #8. Under Pressure rebounds a place to #9, meaning it has occupied all the four lower positions of the top 10. It is actually my second favourite Bowie song (after Ashes To Ashes) but as it is both his and Queen's song, it has a lesser impact. Not to worry, it'll reappear when Brian May dies. Anyway, Sweet Lovin', which was the last non-posthumous number one, falls 4 places to #10. It is possible that by the time we get a new non-posthumous this will be out of the top 10. Other notable songs Sadly, the plethora of great people dying hasn't limited itself to January, as Maurice White, vocalist of Earth, Wind & Fire, has died aged 74. As I only learned of his death today, only four Earth, Wind & Fire songs appear in the top 100. The first, Boogie Wonderland, is at #14. It peaked at #4 in the UK chart in 1979, and was used in the 2005 movie Madagascar. The second, Let's Groove, is at #22. This is a re-entry, since it previously appeared at #71 for a week in July 2015. The third, September, is at #34. This is their highest placed track on iTunes right now, currently at #32. The fourth, Fantasy, is at #66. Unlike the three others, which peaked at #4, #3 and #3, Fantasy didn't make the UK top 10, stalling at #14. Earth, Wind & Fire never had a UK number one. Following the release of This Is Acting, Sia's Alive soars back into the top 40 at #25. Unstoppable is the week's biggest climber, jumping 35 places to #57, while Move Your Body and Cheap Thrills enter at #62 and #73 respectively. The only other new entry is Sigma's Stay, at #61. Kygo's song of the same name climbs 11 places to #65. A few Bowie tracks achieve new peaks this week. Starman climbs 4 places to #11, Fashon climbs 7 places to #15, I Can't Give Everything Away moves up 5 places to #21, Underground jumps 17 places to #38 and Dollar Days ascends 6 places to #40.
