This spent a total of 9 weeks at number one, the first being in late February and the last being in early July, and even today it is absolutely fantastic. The soft beginning, going until the end of the first chorus, is beautiful, while the rock-heavy rest of the song also slays. For me, the fact it reached only #37 is unforgivable.

This is absolutely fantastic, and the fact it only reached #96 in the UK chart will never fail to infuriate me. An absolute masterpiece.

Ella Henderson - Glitterball DQF5aHVOW5s Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {1-1-2-2-3-3-3-2-1-1-2-4-5-8-8-10-9-14-13-10-12-15-15-18-20-20-21-13-13-14-9-8-15-18-24...} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 30 At #4 we have Sigma and Ella Henderson with Glitterball, which is one of the best tracks of 2015 and possibly even of the decade so far. Sigma's production is glorious, Ella's vocals are magnificent, for me this is a classic (for me).

#5: Years & Years - Shine hXTAn4ELEwM Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {1-2-2-6-7-5-5-4-1-2-3-2-2-1-3-3-3-4-4-6-10-12-12-14-17-19-20-24-24-26-26-22-19-14-14-25-25-28...} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 33 Years & Years now with the absolutely epic Shine. This was held off number one on July 10th 2015 by House Every Weekend, possibly because people confused the DJ who made the track (David Zowie) for the musical icon (and Years & Years' hero, according to their tribute to him) who died precisely six months after this injustice. What a coincidence. Anyway, this is absolutely stunning, and without a doubt one of the best tracks of 2015.

#6: Jess Glynne - Don't Be So Hard On Yourself THeLVhU53ow Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {9-2-5-1-4-3-4-2-1-2-2-3-4-9-11-13-16-20-24-28-31-27-32-34-27-21-8-7-13-17-23...} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 26 In sixth place we have Jess Glynne with Don't Be So Hard On Yourself, which thankfully spent a week at number one in the official chart. I really wasn't going to put up with this spending the week at iTunes #1 but missing out in the end, after the two songs coming up did exactly that. This has actually had a longer top 40 than Hold My Hand, and is still in the top 40 after 24 weeks. For me, this is even better. An absolutely fabulous song.

This samples Stevie Wonder's 1969 number four hit "My Cherie Amour", which means Stevie Wonder has been the vocalist on a song in my EOY top 200 for three years in a row (he appeared in 2013 and 2014 with For Once In My Life). Anyway, this just makes me want to dance, and its success (which earned it a Best British Single nomination) is very pleasing to see. Hopefully he still has tunes like this in him.

#8: Ella Eyre - Together eK5mH9oF7T4 Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {15-10-16-18-18-18-19-7-1-4-5-6-9-8-11-14-12-16-17-16-16-11-5-7-8-12-17-20-24-27-30-32-42-45-48-43-50-51-52-32-33-46-53-62...} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 39 At #8 we have Ella Eyre with Together, whcih was her third number one in my personal chart. This has grown to be my favourite of hers, it's just so uplifting and fantastic. If she makes a second album, I hope there's a song as amazing as this.

#9: Little Mix - Black Magic MkElfR_NPBI Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {2-2-3-4-6-6-1-4-3-5-8-7-9-11-16-22-28-30-30-37-35-37-39-21-26-30-35-33-33-31-22-18-29-32-38...} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 30 At #9 we have one of the biggest hits of the year, Little Mix's Black Magic. Again, this is absolutely fabulous, and this is currently my favourite from them, although Love Me Like You could take that crown. I wish we had absolutely fabulous, successful in the UK only number ones instead of the good but not great such as Love Yourself or Stitches. How anyone could think Worth It is better than this is beyond me, but apparently those people exist, but I wouldn't pay attention to them, especially since they like talking to pillows.

#10: Little Mix - Love Me Like You 1WpoKRnoPRU Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {20-3-1-3-2-3-4-3-5-6-7-2-5-6-1-2-8-11-11...} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 14 Kicking off the top 10 is Little Mix with Love Me Like You. Everything about it is fantastic, from the sha-la-la-la parts to which I used to go down the stairs, to the verses, and the chorus. It's a shame this didn't make the top 10, but with all its success I don't think that matters too much.

Personally, I quite like Earthling, although Little Wonder sounds like it was produced by The Prodigy (I'm not saying that's a bad thing, it's just really too un-Bowie). David Bowie is still number one! After moving aside a week for Absolute Beginners, Ashes To Ashes returns to number one. Subsequently, this is the first time two songs have occupied the top 2, then changed places, and then changed places again the following week. We have a new non-Bowie number one! (as in highest non-Bowie track) And it's Secret Love Song, which was number one in December. So far, not a single 2016 song has reached number one (or even gotten close) and the Bowie effect has nothing to do with it: in the three weeks where Ashes To Ashes or Absolute Beginners were number one, the highest placed non-Bowie tracks were Sweet Lovin' for two weeks and Secret Love Song. If anything, it's actually helping: the current peak for a 2016 song is #26, the position at which I Can't Give Everything Away, from Bowie's final album Blackstar, is this week. Lush Life climbs two places to #4, and Lazarus falls a place to #5. Sweet Lovin' seemingly starts to fall away, descending three places to #6. The Girl Is Mine reaches a new peak of #7, six weeks after reaching its previous peak of #8. In The Night also enters the top 10, climbing five places to #9 and the rest of the top 10 is Bowie, with Heroes falling a place to #8 and Under Pressure falling two places to #10. Further down the chart, Coldplay's Hymn For The Weekend reaches a new peak after being sent down 13 places by the Bowie tracks. it climbs to #13 in its seventh week, and the possibility of a new climb into the top 10 is currently not out of the question. Also scaling up the charts is Fleur East, both with her current single More & More, which climbs 6 places to reach a new peak at #21, and with Sax, which after crashing 32 places two weeks ago, is slowly scaling back up the chart, climbing 5 places to #44. The only new entry in the top 40 comes from Sigala, DJ Fresh and someone called Imani with Say You Do at #34. Both of Sigala's previous hits had lower starts (#70 for Easy Love and #89 for Sweet Lovin') but eventually climbed to #1, so this isn't a bad start for Say You Do. Can it climb up the chart to give Sigala a hat-trick? Ex's & Oh's charges 49 places up to #42, while Light It Up climbs 17 places to #53. Both could enter the top 40 next week. After a few weeks off the chart, Charlie Puth's One Call Away re-enters at #64, four places below its peak. With it starting to catch on in the charts, and the release of Nine Track Mind, it could very previously reach the top 40 next week. Ahead of the release of This Is Acting, Alive rebounds 12 places to #57 and Unstoppable enters at #92. 'Tis A Pity She Was A Whore and Stitches both re-enter at #91 and #96 respectively. The final new entry is All My Friends at #98.

#14: Adele - Hello YQHsXMglC9A Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {1-1-2-4-2-6-14-15-9-11-17-31-43...} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 9 At #14 we have Adele's comeback Hello. This spent two weeks at number one for me, and although it has dropped quite a lot during these past two weeks, it's still fantastic. This will become a classic.

#15: Sigma & Rita Ora - Coming Home tS26xch5U24 Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {6-1-1-5-2-4-4-3-4-4-10-13...} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 8 Sigma & Rita are next with the fantastic Coming Home, which is really, for the latter, a massive return to form after the lackluster Poison and Body On Me. This has spent 11 weeks in my top 10, although it has taken a bit of a hit in the last two weeks due to the Bowie invasion.

#16: Little Mix - Weird People mutmwnYlbpM Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {1-2-5-8-11-9-9-8-11-11-13-12-22-22...} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 10 At #16 we have Little Mix with Weird People. I really hope this is a single, as it's an absolutely fantastic jam. The verses and the chorus is excellent, and that last chorus just makes me want to dance. It's currently spent 14 weeks in my chart, with only the last two being lower than #13.

#17: Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth - See You Again RgKAFK5djSk Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {1-3-6-12-8-9-9-16-19-22-29-18-23-26-31-31-38-41-43-44-53-59-58-59-73-76-79-83-89-96} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100: 30 At #17 we have Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth with See You Again from Fast & Furious 7. This was one of the biggest hits of 2015, and deservedly so as it is a beautiful song and a lovely tribute to Paul Walker. Wiz Khalifa hasn't yet followed this up, and Charlie Puth's follow-up didn't really set my chart alight (it peaked at #33 and spent 8 weeks in my top 100).

This spent 35 weeks in the official top 40, despite peaking at #8, and on my chart it spent 45 weeks in my top 40 in total. Unfortunately what is allegedly its response song (Ellie Goulding's On My Mind) didn't exactly set my chart alight (it peaked at #27 and spent 6 weeks in my top 40).

Despite peaking at #15 in the UK chart, it still spent 22 weeks in the top 40, and every one of those weeks was more than deserved. This is absolutely fabulous.
