iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 22nd January 2016
I could not agree more. In a dream world Work starts dropping 0.10 per update and finishes out of the top 10 by midnight Friday, but I don't think that's going to happen.

Aly's top 40 of 2015
I never really understood what went wrong with Lighthouse. It wasn't radio unfriendly in the slightest, most people who heard it lied it... It was very good aswell. It's a shame they split up afterwards, but that does make them the second band whose last single was called Lighthouse. Currently Karen Harding's second single "Open My Eyes" is on pre-order, scheduled for 12 February.

This is the track which made her famous, and 18 months later it's still fantastic. This will become a classic.

#22: Karen Harding - Say Something SiwgvQA8ksE Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {48-2-3-4-6-11-12-14-10-17-19-20-23-28-35-32-32-31-34-36-39-50-66-58-69-74-65-67-62-33-60-83-96} Peak: #2 Weeks on top 100: 33 It may have been the only one of the four top 20 new entries in the week it entered to be listenable, but Say Something is a really great tune which thankfully got a decent bout of success, spending 3 months in the top 40. It's been almost a year and it still sounds great.

#24: Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk OPf0YbXqDm0 Year of release: 2014 Chart Run: {3-1-2-1-3-3-5-4-6-7-11-15-20-22-24-28-35-26-18-15-21-34-39-41-47-46-44-49-61-67-84-97} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 29 2014 EOY: #82 The biggest hit of the year lands in at #24 here. Again, a catchy song that anyone can dance to, but I do hope the tradition of the first number one of the year being the year's biggest seller, aka I don't want Love Yourself to be the biggest seller of 2016.

#25: Foxes - Body Talk VAerYplzZUE Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {3-4-8-12-14-7-6-5-7-10-14-17-25-30-37-35-41-48-57-63-67-78-88-92-89-66-58-53-49-43-60-83-100...} Peak: #3 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 29 Kicking off the top 25 is Foxes with the disco-esque Body Talk. Somewhat amusingly, its position here is also its peak position in the UK chart. Yes, this peaked at #25 and spent only two weeks in the top 40. Which means one of the best tracks of the year and the second worst "song" of the year peaked at the same position. Rather frustratingly, that song spent longer in the charts and had international success, while this gem ended up completely forgotten.

#26: Sigala featuring Bryn Christopher - Sweet Lovin' F4HuIqwGuBU Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {89-100-68-45-46-41-8-1-4-6-7-5-2-1-4-3...} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 12 Sigala beats DJ Fresh to the #26 spot in this countdown (I don't think he's too mad at him for that, after all they collaborated on his next single). I actually prefer this to Easy Love now, and it spent another week at number one in January 2016. For the past two weeks it's also held the distinction of being the highest song in my chart not to be by David Bowie, so perhaps if he hadn't died, this could have been my number for four non-consecutive weeks?

#27: DJ Fresh featuring Ella Eyre - Gravity ujlPY31ZAJQ Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {18-11-1-3-4-6-6-8-11-13-14-17-20-26-37-39-40-48-58-65-76-68-73-76-75-98-95-94-95-94-65-52-55-73-88-98-x11-95} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 36 After two abominations (not the two songs immediately preceding this of course), this was a return to form for DJ Fresh. Featuring the vocals of Ella Eyre, this was the biggest hit of the year for both artists, and actually outlasted Louder and Hot Right Now to become the DJ Fresh single with the longest top 40 run.

#28: Jess Glynne - Hold My Hand cLyUcAUMmMY Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {20-17-20-22-27-30-36-8-3-3-1-4-5-7-16-23-30-33-41-54-66-83-98-x6-92-87-84-53-46-53-55-42-39-43-55-72-x4-73-x2-94} Peak: #1 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 36 At #28 we have Jess Glynne with the fantastic Hold My Hand. I still remember the day when I first heard this beauty, two months before it was released. See, that's what was so good about the pre-order age: you could watch a song build up momentum before being released. Personally, I miss pre-orders; the chart was a lot better when they were in place.

This spent 17 weeks in my top 40. It's a really euphoric track, and I can't wait to hear more from Galantis.

#30: Disclosure - Jaded zjVSewbKllk Year of release: 2015 Chart Run: {29-13-8-6-5-5-9-11-14-17-16-20-24-31-27-21-27-41-48...} Peak: #5 Weeks on top 100 in 2015: 15 Starting off the top 30 is Disclosure with what is by far the best song from Caracal. After having disappointment after disappointment, I was losing faith in Caracal (a bit how FourFiveSeconds, Bitch Better Have My Money and Work has made me go completely off ANTI, the difference being Disclosure were making disappointment and not horrors) but this put me right back on the bandwagon. Both the production and the vocals are great, I love the futuristic theme, and for once in the era, it's a job very well done.

This is incredible, and while not quite as good as Wish You Were Mine, it's still fantastic and it should have been a hit!

"Work (feat. Drake)" // 1st Single
This is terrible! What is wrong with her? I've completely lost hope in Rihanna now. ANTI is an album I'd rather never have to hear. Still, at least Russian Roulette, Disturbia, Only Girl (In The World), Diamonds, We Found Love and the like exist.

Which reminds me I completely forgot to add Beyoncé in the redemption event. Anyway, this is fantastic, contains more quality in its first second than in the whole 3:36 of 7/11, and it returned Naughty Boy to the charts, giving him the last laugh over Zayn Malik.
