I'm pretty sure Murdoch's paintings don't lie in his attic. At least not those of himself.

T83:Y96's 2016 End Of Year Top 200
:puke2: #1: Fifth Harmony featuring Ty Dolla $ign - Work From Home 5GL9JoH4Sws Chart Run: 23-11-4-3-2-3-4-4-5-5-8-10-10-12-13-14-18-20-23-26-27-24-28-37-38-42-44-53-56-60-67-67-74-81-82-90 And the worst song of 2016 is of course Work From Home, by Fifth Harmony featuring Ty Dolla $ign. Where do I even start? The production is generic, although the intro is recognizable, but not in a good way. The lyrics are tacky (and I'm really fed up with all these songs about sex, don't you have anything better to sing about?) and create unrealistic expectations for young men on what their female counterparts want (I will admit, however, that All In My Head (Flex) is worse in that aspect as it puts pressure on younger women or girls as to what they're supposed to enjoy in sex by telling them that any pain which may come from intercourse in "all in their head") , and of course Ty Dolla $ign's rap is awful, playing the role of the objectifying creepy rapper who turns for thirty seconds to deliver a bridge about how he likes to have intercourse with women. Splendid. And of course everybody lapped it up and very nearly sent to the top of the UK charts, because of course they did. Really Work From Home is the perfect example of everything that is wrong with pop music.

:puke2: #2: Desiigner - Panda E5ONTXHS2mM Chart Run: 74-47-27-25-15-12-7-8-11-12-12-13-13-19-21-23-31-34-39-44-45-50-59-61-63-65-72-78-80-85-100-100 Can Kanye West kindly stick to putting out his own tripe instead of also making other people's tripe a big hit? Desiigner's Panda, which, like Dawin's Dessert, technically dates back to 2015 but was a hit this year and is too awful not to appear, was heavily sampled by Kanye West on a track on his album The Life Of Pablo, and this made Panda a chart hit, reaching the top 10 and making us wonder when the 4-minute nightmare was going to go away. It turns out it actually fell rather quickly (by 2016 standards at least), so at least we didn't put up with it too long. Still, it's absolutely horrific and I hope never to hear it again.

:puke2: #3: Rihanna featuring Drake - Work HL1UzIK-flA Chart Run: 13-4-4-3-2-2-3-5-6-6-8-10-10-13-16-18-22-22-23-23-31-35-35-35-41-47-55-59-59-58-59-63-69-70-73-75-86-91-92-99-98 And to think two years ago I liked Rihanna. The three songs she released in 2015, even FourFiveSeconds, sound great compared to this thing. Sadly it was a massive hit, spending 12 weeks in the top 10. At least This Is What You Came For was an improvement (I say improvement, it wasn't particularly good but at least it was better than this).

:puke2: #4: Zay Hilfiger & Zaylon McCall - Juju On That Beat (TZ Anthem) a2v_zGWawP0 Chart Run: 97-68-46-40-37-40-57-89 Like most viral challenges, this 'song' climbed up the chart and then, thankfully, fizzled out quickly. The video is awful aswell (that's not usually what happens with police officers and black teenagers). How much worse can things get?

:puke2: #5: Dawin featuring Silento - Dessert NZp_axebSfQ Chart Run: 93-64-44-35-42-42-44-50-57-60-62-56-54-59-62-60-87 At #5 is a song that isn't technically from 2016, but which was a minor hit this year and is simply too awful to not be included here. The first hit for Dawin and the second (and hopefully the very last) for Silento, also responsible for the horrific Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae), this climbed up the top 100 in January but thankfully stalled at #35, although it was included on Now! 93.

:puke2: #6: Nevada featuring Mark Morrison & Fetty Wap - The Mack -cy78b9uvBs Chart Run: 60-44-23-17-14-17-19-20... In sixth place we have Nevada, Mark Morrison and Fetty Wap (again) with this utter crap called The Mack, which is a (terrible) remake of Mark Morrison's Return of The Mack from the 1990s. It has currently peaked at #14 in the UK charts, and I can only hope it doesn't go any higher.

:puke2: #7: Selena Gomez - Hands To Myself FMlcn-_jpWY Chart Run: 75-70-54-45-41-40-32-21-20-20-14-18-20-30-32-38-59-65-75-81-81-76-74-75-79-92 Selena Gomez's Revival era started off well, with Good For You being quite good, however the rest of the era didn't impress me. However, while Same Old Love and Kill 'Em With Kindness were simply uninteresting, this was really bad. Unfortunately it became a sizable hit, although it didn't stick around too long.

No Money is great! Not as great as their first two, but still brilliant. I'm looking forward to the top 40!

:puke2: #8: Rae Sremmurd feat. Gucci Mane - Black Beatles b8m9zhNAgKs Chart Run: 36-4-2-2-2-6-10... The first few seconds actually aren't bad, it's more the vocals and the extremely misogynist lyrics that do it for me, ruining a somewhat interesting production. The song took off and quickly became a big contender for number one, but thankfully it was stopped by Rockabye, and now is falling rather quickly.

:puke2: #9: Fifth Harmony featuring Fetty Wap - All In My Head (Flex) jsbeemdD2rQ Chart Run: 82-62-62-46-36-25-26-26-29-33-37-41-48-49-51-61-87 The second atrocity Fifth Harmony inflicted onto the world this year was All In My Head (Flex), in collaboration with Fetty Wap. Unsurprisingly it wasn't any good, but luckily it failed to reach the top 20 and disappeared relatively quickly.

:puke2: #10: Jonas Blue feat. Dakota - Fast Car 5yXQJBU8A28 Chart Run: 61-3-2-3-4-3-5-5-6-7-7-9-12-11-14-18-20-23-23-24-24-32-34-36-37-38-46-44-47-65-69-74-79-84-87-77-84-95-97 One of the biggest hits of the first quarter of the year was Jonas Blue's "Fast Car", an awful rendition of Tracy Chapman's classic song which sucked out all the life and soul of the meaning, and then somehow outpeaked it, reaching #2 in the charts compared to #4 for the original. His later hits "Perfect Strangers" and "By Your Side" were better, but that's still no excuse for this.

:puke2: #11: Iggy Azalea - Team KVGRN7Z7T1A Chart Run: 80-91-82-71-62-89 Iggy Azalea returned after a bit of a break in March this year with the godawful Team, the lead single from her second album Digital Distortion, expected for next year. Thankfully it didn't go any further than #62, and it hasn't had any follow up as of yet, although one is expected for January.

I haven't heard Shed A Light (yet). Thanks for commenting! We'll just have to agree to disagree here. Thanks for the comment anyway. I loved Night Visions, although Smoke & Mirrors was a disappointment, and I did lik Renegades aswell. Well, terrible songs are always more enjoyable when drunk. Thanks for the comment!

Ultraviolence's End Of Year 2016: Singles + Albums
Hymn for the Weekend second worst song of 2016? Are you kidding me? That song is magnificent! I do agree on Black Beatles, Panda, Sex and The Mack though, all four are diabolical.

:puke2: #13: The Chainsmokers featuring Halsey - Closer 0zGcUoRlhmw Chart Run: 33-12-4-3-1-1-1-1-2-3-2-3-3-5-8-9-9-10-11-15-18... By some distance the worst number one of 2016 (although, somewhat worryingly, four songs which have yet to appear in this top 20 nearly made it), Closer spent a month at the top in August and September. While not nearly as bad as #SELFIE, which remains one of the top 10 worst songs ever, it's extremely generic and boring, something made worse by its success. Why couldn't Don't Let Me Down go to number one instead?

T83:Y96's 2016 End Of Year Top 200
John Newman does actually appear in my EOY of songs I like later on. Well, it's better than the other songs they released this year, but that's about it. Of all-time? Anyhow, thanks for commenting! Thanks for the comment, it's always appreciated! Thanks for the comment! Thanks for commenting! Thanks for the comment! Well, I disliked pretty much everything Drake put out this year. I dislike Controlla, but I find it merely boring, as opposed to Fake Love which I find really grating. (Sorry for speeding through your comments like this, it's just that I only have 5 days to finish the hatechart and my top 5 albums of 2016 before starting my favourites of 2016).

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 23rd December 2016
"Careless Whisper" is my personal favourite, so I'm glad to see that leading the charge.
