I totally agree, I hated Whoa, Nelly! But Folklore really has a few gems in there (Build You Up, Explode, Try, Childhood Dreams, and Fresh Off The Boat). And I do like Gabrielle, just not heard that album :P

But stereotyping an audience is always going to happen, artists AIM to please their fan base and if sexuality does come in to it, then so be it. Obviously there is always somebody who doesn't fit the general rule, and as ever, that will always happen.

Are you serious? Most of her fan base are gay males, I'd say. I think she's not that well known for it because she's not all that popular now, the music she produces though is SERIOUS camp pop, and so I think she aims to do that to please her fan base.
