  1. AKA alternative R&B – as adopted by the likes of Tinashe, The Weeknd (his earlier material), Frank Ocean, SZA etc.
  2. Rihanna has released her whole album for FREE download. So surely people will stop paying to download "Work" from iTunes if they have any common sense. The album is very good if you're into PBR&B. Pop fans may be disappointed. I think it's great!

Always makes me chuckle when I see BRIT nominations and only 10 categories when you look at the GRAMMYs and it's like hundreds.

I can't predict who will win until i know the voting process for each category. Obviously social media friendly/younger acts like 1d and Little Mix benefit from fan voting categories... I'm assuming album of the year is decided by a panel. That's surely the most obvious category with Adele walking it. Jamie XX got critical acclaim but I just can't see him beating Adele. I think album of the year and best female for Adele are in the bag for her and her name currently being engraved on the trophy.
  5. But I specifically said WW as i know in the US she has already closed the gap considerably so there is a possibility. WW is a different story, even with all the future singles, future promo, touring etc. It sold 15m in 6 weeks during xmas and during the hype of her comeback. Now it is selling at a more "normal" rate. Sure it will have spikes with future singles but not enough to challenge 21 WW...which is STILL selling at a pretty high rate since the 25 campaign (#11 best selling album in the world this past week). But I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one :)
  6. IMO anyone who thinks 25 will outsell 21 WW is completely delusional. Never going to happen.

Obviously not that obvious, as you'll be wrong ;) Alessia certainly won't be top 3!

Bieber playing reverse psychology lol. If he loses no. 1: "Justin Bieber decides to forfeit his number 1 lead in aid of charity" etc. ....... even though NHS would have taken it anyways since the gap has closed significantly. But now if they are "suddenly" and "unexpectedly" number 1 in tomorrow's update many media outlets will be attributing it to his support. Nice calculated PR move there :D

I for one would be cool with NHS taking it. There have been far too many snide/smug posts on here claiming that "they don't have a chance", "Justin has 10000% got in the bag" etc...I found those posts funny because NHS have been actively campaigning from the beginning of the week, so, even before they re-took the lead on iTunes, it should never have been assumed that they were just going to sit back and not put up a fight, given they have been very active in their campaign to get to number 1. Meanwhile Justin probably could not care any less so is not benefitting as much from the "campaign" aspect of it.
  10. It is not Gareth Malone's choir...

Yeah i'm in no doubt Frank's new album would do well over here too, at least first week! He has a big fanbase and has been very anticipated all year.

Sia said Rihanna was at her house a few nights ago still looking for songs for her new album "ANTI". Drake has released 2 "albums" this year already. I would guess with Frank Ocean. I know he's not huge over here, but Digital Spy are only re-reporting the story which was first reported by a reputable US outlet earlier in the week, and Frank is massively anticipated in the States. Wouldn't rule out Kanye either.
  13. Stormzy now playlisted on Capital – every little helps!! (no sign of Louisa)
  14. Yes, Xmas no. 1's used to be a real event in chart music, so I hope it is back to being such next year!

Feel a bit bad for those thinking or hoping Louisa will be number 1 whether this week or next week. It is not happening.
  16. Nope it was absolutely the right song. Unfortunately people are still not signed on to the fact that her & her team care more about album sales than "prepping single no. 2". It's probably the least of their concerns; they want to sell the album, and a performance of one of the biggest hits of the moment will do just that!
  17. I don't really think it has much to do with the song (X Factor winner's singles aren't exactly known for being pop masterpieces) and more to do with fact X Factor is on its last legs and people really do not care like they used to.
  18. Adele's cackle for xmas no. 1
  19. But what stats will they display on her VT package? SoooooooooOOOOOOOoooooo many to choose from.
  20. Adele/Coldplay/1D for the Sunday results show. Probably the strongest lineup they've ever had. Three massive global acts & all British, which is cool.
  21. I'm surprised Ella wasn't roped in. Yes she doesn't have a new album out, but something like "Glitterball" would be well suited to the occasion/finale!
  22. Because 1D's first two singles (Drag Me Down & Perfect) aren't at all tailor made for radio haha.
  23. She doesn't need to lip sync to be fair so there's no reason e.g.: She may not be peak Mariah or peak Whitney or Beyoncé etc. etc., but she is a competent live singer for the most part, as shown above in the acoustic performance. I think because she's an X Factor judge she gets automatically grouped with Cheryl and a few judges that have gone before her and people think she can't sing. & besides, if you were gonna lip sync I don't think it would make sense to pre-record pitchy vocals as that defeats the purpose. (yes, she was pitchy in parts).
  24. I know Leona can sing, obviously, but I think Louisa would bury her if she was to go all out in the duet. Hopefully she holds back/shows a little restraint, for Leona's sake. :o
  25. Well she did a few weeks ago with "Coming Home", and typically does with all her performances... She's no Cheryl in that regard.
