ALTYR HYPE!

I think for the next contest only, there should be a shorter confirmation window, and the reason I say that for now is that even though it's only February it seems again we are already behind schedule with the hosting, and that is not in any way the current host's fault (nor even the last one), but if we are to complete one contest a month as is usually expected then the final for that contest should be completed in the same calendar month as the semis and ready to start confirmations for the next contest the month after. As it currently turns out this contest we are about to begin won't end until at least the first week in March by the time results are all over. So yes, +1 for a one-off shorter confirmation window, with all current participants made fully aware at the end of this contest that that will be the case so they can be ready sooner. Hopefully by end of March will be back on schedule again.

Based on titles mine might be; Sleeping With My Eyes Open (just sounds an abstract concept and against the norm) Gimme That Boom (fun and poignant) The DJ's Got A Gun (scary and mysterious an fitting for an October entry) It's worth pointing out that all of those failed to qualify in their semis.

Hey @Calum could we have the Spotify playlists please. 🙏🏼

Oh I've heard this one before, I think I know the punchline too.

News just in, the people of Persephonia have a fear of purses, there are reports of people throwing them into fires. 🔥

When were either even last logged into BuzzJack?

Michael Jackson and David Bowie as a minimum who defined the decade.

I guess now we wait for "The Definitive 1980's Yearbook" covering the whole decade, though I can't see many good songs being left to mop up from tbh.

I can think of many reasons why Bré would think that's a bad idea... but at least I'm not one of them. 🤓

Still after that first victory!!

I know I'm bumping a very old thread, but with so many new nations joining in the last few years alone it would be good to revisit a thread like this, not only to hear of new countries but to revisit some meanings behind some of the older ones too. So @matto as the thread starter, you get to begin! Let's learn a little more about Deandria again. 😁 Of course anyone else can take part too if they want to share the inspiration behind their country name choice, and perhaps if they would ever consider changing it in the future?

Apologies in this case to @!!! @blacksquare and @Jade and we will make room for you all.

Thanks Jim; that's clearly an oversight on my part, would you remind me of the three podium songs from that contest please. 🙏🏼

It's funny how everyone wants to guess who sent The Cheeky Girls... I guess it would have to be someone very brave so hats off to them for taking a wild gamble! My guess is maybe @Julian_ perhaps?

Definitely eager to see what bangers there are served up this evening! I hope it's nothing but pure hits and big sounding party starters! 🥳

There's a big clue in your signature that even before Girlicious formed as a band they were having cat fights in hotel rooms over who had the best nation out of Persephonia and The Actual Republic Of Bellamia... and to this day nobody knows.
