  1. Thanks for all the points everyone! Particularly Frank with the 20. I really didn't expect to do this well, though I was happy with the plug reaction. Can definitely recommend the entire Color Therapy album Mr Wolf Is Dead if you liked Screw Eyes. Really happy with 9th though was worried I'd slip out of top 10 for the last few, very tight with points in the lower end of the top 10.

Very well deserved winner and nice results overall, voted for lots of the absolute bangers near the top here.

okay okay now I'm seeing the title of Color Therapy's song in an entirely different light

(most of the time I can call Jacob's entry but I was way off this time, I thought he'd be Laura Jones)

Omg I didn't even consider that but that's incredible and I'm taking it. xxx

I did like Laura Jones, it only just slipped out of my votes at the end. :(

Tbf that ambient sound with big drums and stuff is very me I think. :o

  2. I absolutely adore Hybrid Theory as an album, I can see why they left this off because the rest of it was so decidedly Nu Metal and yet it still captures their sound at the time perfectly. The vinyl scratches, the mixing on Mike's rapping, the guitar tone. Reminds me a bit of My December, bonus track off Hybrid Theory originally. Chester's voice is amazing of course- it's really beautiful here though (kinda rare to hear him sing falsetto like that). Now I'm just even more sad I'll never get to see them live.
  3. ^ you still have the wrong Myriam Fares song in that playlist Jacob!
Oh weird! I used a direct playlist converter from Spotify and it's been pretty reliable with everything else.

Checked Apple Music and that's all that comes up as well when I search it. I'll remove the song from the playlist and put a note to check YouTube or Spotify.

  4. I love making twitch clips I once made one of a streamer and friend I mod for and it got featured in this overwatch compilation video which was pretty cool!

Also Jacob, that's amazing (which you already know since I dm'd you as soon as I saw the opening post haha) I've followed you!!

    Thanks Harry!

Actually going live right now with some Crusader Kings 2 if anyone fancies dropping by, could be a fun time. :o

  5. Very #late and idk if there's an embed for it but I made a playlist for Apple Music with a converter that used the Spotify one, this has changed everything for me- makes it so much easier to listen. :o

    Missing:

    10 | East Rukahavian | Mick Mazoo - Serotonin*

11 | Tartford | Music Instructor - Rock Your Body (Brainbug Remix)

*Is there but greyed out for me atm, might work. x

  6. asdf embodies early YouTube in lots of ways. Short*, "lol randem XD", lots of mildly endearing somewhat amateur animation and of course, all wonderfully low in pixel quality.

*None of this 10 minute minimum for most videos for the midroll ads because there were no ads anyway and no one made careers of of YouTube, just short lil skits or quick uploads. It's much more longform these days and shorter content has migrated to other platforms a bit I guess. Not quite the same kind of content though, was really of its time. The content was often immature and silly but I'd take it over cringe lipsyncing on Tik Tok or music.ly.

  7. You can get bluetooth speakers with aux inputs but it's not very common to get wired duel pc speakers with Bluetooth compatibility, not seen them before honestly. PC speakers are usually just wired, because generally they stay in the same place all the time, and of course you can connect to Bluetooth speakers from your PC. Of course you can connect the aux straight to your PC from a Bluetooth speaker if they have an aux (duel ones are less likely because they'd still have to connect to each other via Bluetooth to feed through a single aux, or they'd have to be wired to each other which would defeat the purpose a bit), something like this or this- you could get two but then of course they'd be separate devices, though you might be able to work things out with some wired/ software trickery (Idk you'd have to experiment)- but it'd work well if you were find with a single speaker.

I did find these duel Bluetooth PC ones, but they have bluetooth as an alternative rather than in combination with wired.

I'd suggest going with something like those, you can just connect via Bluetooth from your PC and do the same thing from your phone/ tablet. Same as any Bluetooth speaker really but they are duel "PC Speakers" which isn't very common for Bluetooth ones- getting two speakers in as one "device" is very nice, usually they're those singular brick types as above.

    In their description:

Simple Switching : Integrated with Logitech Easy-Switch technology, these stereo mini-speakers let you seamlessly switch between audio devices just by pausing the audio on one device and pressing play on the other
So literally just pause on your PC and start playing on your phone, sounds like exactly what you want and no messy wires! :o

A tad expensive but not too bad for what you're getting- not a very common product and Logitech is a decent brand so the audio quality should be quite nice. Plus you have headphone input, sort out the newer iPhone's lack of aux inputs if you've got one of them! xxx

  8. I’m not sure what your role is, but teachers are still being paid as we are still working. Our support staff are also doing shifts looking after key worker kids so I’m pretty sure their still being paid too.
I work in a school as support staff, I'm on furlough because they filtered out who would be furloughed by role, everything's pretty much online support now and I'm not a teacher. I mostly provide practical support with music tech so I can't really work again until schools are back.

I really hope that furlough thing is just a rumour. If work's there I'll go, I'll have to (and want to honestly) but what if there's nothing to go to??

We're absolutely not ready to come out of lockdown and any easing (which we're also not ready for) should've had much clearer lines drawn. Expecting a 2nd wave now and maybe even 2nd lockdown in June which would be utterly disastrous- both in lives lost and a double hit to the floundering economy.

  9. 29th is still in top 30 and an unique position for me! :o

    Could be worse. x

Amazing hosting Rob and congrats to USJ!! First time winner after entering for a very long time it seems, always nice to see. The song didn't really stand out to me tbh but I get the appeal, has a great 90s/00s feel! Great to see Persephonia and Séyetana top 10 too. ^_^
