Had 20p on England leading 5-0 at half time at 190/1 so got £38 for that haha, if only I'd put a bit more on, like even 50p- but I'm not going there. Banking that though, pretty chuffed. Also had a bit (all tiny ones) on Kane scoring 1, 2 and getting a hat-trick so got around a fiver on that too. Lost a few but doesn't really matter because I split the bets into tiny ones and it seems to have worked out, think I only put £4.50 on this match in total. Means I've made a profit from betting so far which seems very unusual so for the most part I'm quitting while I'm this far ahead. Amazing to see England doing so well and getting through to the knockouts for certain, feels like a long time since we had a team looking this good. Not holding my breath in terms of progressing beyond quarters or even the round of 16 but this was a moment in itself, highest scoring match (for one side) of the tournament I believe, a few 5s in there but pretty sure this is the only 6.

Particularly enjoyed Running From My Shadow, Brooding and K. Flay's feature. Great tribute to Chester too, hell I'm still sad about that (I would've loved to see Linkin Park live, I adore(d) Chester's voice and he seemed like a really genuine guy) so I can't imagine how Mike's been doing, must've been theraputic for him to get all this written.

Put a bet on England getting 2-1 (amongst a few others, not all worked but lots did- never bet on anything before so this is kinda new for me)- ended up winning around £15 in all. :o I was starting to think it was so typical of England to start strong, feck it all up and drag things out until it was a disappointing draw, so glad they pulled it back last minute.

^Give it a few more listens, it's hard to tell with the other albums having the advantage of you (and me!) knowing them well already. I'm only halfway through on my 1st listen but I've loving Never Say Die right now. Graffiti and Get Out were great too. Miracle's great too. The general sound/ vibe is maybe a little safe (so yeah, quite like Every Open Eye) but on the whole a really solid effort, the kind of awesome output I expect from CHVRCHES. This is only after listening to half of it but it'd be good to see more experimentation on their next one perhaps. I know artists can't win, they change, people want their old stuff, they don't, people want something different haha. Adore what I've heard so far though, it does have a distinct sound from EOE despite being quite similar.

Cinematic is now out! A bit hit and miss but the hits really hit. On first listen, Fiji Water, The 5th Of July, Lucid Dream, Madeline Island, Be Brave, New York City, Firebird, Cinematic and Montana (Alt Version) are my highlights, bolded my top 3 (ofc I know some already because of the Reel things but I've been mostly saving listens until the album actually came out). Some of it makes me feel really nostalgic and lovely (like Fiji Water, The 5th Of July), I was legit in tears feeling like 16 again listening to The 5th Of July, some of it shows some great musical progression, I absolutely adore Firebird and New York City. Montana (the normal version) has a great chorus but not particularly interesting verses. The alternate version however is so Sky Sailing I'm in love, it has much softer vocals more reminiscent of 2007-2010 Adam Young and the song works much better for me with the instrumentation on the alt version, much more subtle and beautiful. Alt Firebird is cool too and has a similar vibe to Alt Montana, really nice to have but the normal version is awesome anyway in that case. Some tracks are best never spoken of, like All My Friends- such a shame with that track because some of it's really good, just other parts of it make it unlistenable </3. The alternate version is much better but it's still the same song at the core, so not particularly amazing. At least it loses the horrible group vocals and brings in the lovely Breanne Düren which really helps it, though I wish she had a feature on a better song- actually think she's on Alt Firebird a tiiny bit which makes that even more amazing. Most of the rest seem kind of average first listen and the lyrics aren't as strong as they used to be on the whole but it's easily his best Owl City record since All Things Bright And Beautiful for me.
