  1. How are plug sessions looking? I'm good for tonight or tomorrow for semi 2, could host it as well if no one else has planned to.
  2. Surprising winner but a very pleasent surprise! Great to see Marmozets win. Fab hosting as always Leww.
  3. BJSC 101 // How To Destroy Angels - Welcome Oblivion AxraUvHlfJk For those who don't know, How To Destroy Angels is comprised of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross from Nine Inch Nails, as well as Trent Reznor's wife Mariqueen Maandig (the vocalist for the band) and Rob Sheridan, the digital artist and photographer for the band. They have some similarities with NiN but rather than making industrial rock they make industrial dirty electronic music (listed as Post-industrial, experimental, electronica on the source of all knowledge that is Wikipedia). I found this album through a suggestion from my friend who's a big Nine Inch Nails fan and after listening through it once instantly fell in love with the title track (as well as the preceding track "And The Sky Began To Scream" - plz check that out too!). Welcome Oblivion has this grungey, dirty, glitchy sound to it and it perfectly fits with the theme of both the song and album. I adore Mariqueen's voice and love the distortion ever more (distortion is the best right?), this track is a work of ART. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do and give me all the points make a great discovery here!

I know it's fairly late but I made a YouTube playlist for myself and thought I might as well share it: Not forgetting our singular SoundCloud entry: https://soundcloud.com/woman-e/you-stole-that-summer-bright
  5. Merged the topics! Genuinely can't wait for CHVRCHES' third album, I really liked The Bones of What You Believe but I adored Every Open Eye and ended up listening through it on repeat. Would say that EOE is the better album so hoping for good things for the third!
  6. Another Paradox game, Crusader Kings II! I started off as a count in Aargua in the Holy Roman Empire, plotted and schemed to take the county of upper Burgundy and as the same countess achieved that aim. I deposed most of the other counts so I could rule directly myself AND after crusading against muslim invaders in Sicily the pope make me Queen of Sicily! Unfortunately I had gavelkind succession so my next character lost half his titles to stupid siblings and then he died in battle after only a couple of years (he was amazing as well) so I'm now his daughter. The territory I own is so messy rn because I have a couple of counties in Eastern and Northern Germany through grants from the Emperor and dodgey inheritance. as well as (obvs) parts of Sicily. If you don't play the game that will all seem like nonsense soz. ETA: Oh yeah and my current character's cruel, nihilistic, a drunkard, a lunatic, a glutton and a kinslayer (had to kill off a couple of sisters because they had counties I wanted) so no one likes her much sadly.
  7. BJSC Andra Chansen // Swimming With Dolphins - Silhouettes daKsTQN0218 Finally getting round to making a post for this! Huge thanks to Dalisska for entering ages ago. I have known and loved "Silhouettes" for years and when I found out it was a previous BJSC entry I jumped at the chance to re-enter it myself. There's a beautiful dreamy quality to the song (while it still manages to be really upbeat!) and that sound is starting to get nostalgic to me- the late 00s early 10s indie electronic thing that was around on the internet so much for ages. This song still gets me really emotional, I was listening to this and other tracks like it when I was first getting into music. I really hope some of you guys have made this gem of a discovery from this! Also, Breanne Duren's vocals are featured in this (partial self-recycle x).

Aw I wish I could've been there for the plug sesh, would've loved to see the reaction to my entry (and of course see all the others and check if I remembered any).
  9. This may be a personal gripe because I pay next to no attention to charts any more but who cares? Singles charts seem to be getting more irrelevant by the year. The album got to #5 in the UK, #1 in the US, sold hundreds of thousands of copies (in this age of streaming) in many different countries and received near universal critical acclaim. I think she's doing ok.
  10. After seeing them live yesterday in Cardiff (which was so amazing btw), "No Friend" has grown on me even more, it was honestly one of the highlights of the night (of which there were many, I really didn't want it to end I wanted them to play another 10 songs x). Felt really lucky to see it live because they toured with Mewithoutyou supporting and I'd guess if Aaron Weiss wasn't readily available like that they wouldn't do it.
  11. Lucid Dream is released! On my first listen right now but I'm impressed, seems like he's gone fairly trancey on this one. :o

Sabotage!! #Nepotism is over. Well done T Boy!! Tbh when I heard you'd applied I was thinking "Oh yeah he'd be a fab choice". Last time openings came up I didn't feel up to it at all (which is why I didn't apply), now I would be I think but I'm not too disappointed not to get it, maybe it's for the best because I would've thrown myself into it and I'm hella busy as it is. Like I said in my application I only wanted to present myself as an option and really I just wanted what was best for the site. Seeing as T Boy's often in the lounge already as a voice of reason it makes perfect sense. Only because of a promotion. Now a quarter of GMs are female!1!!!1! :o
  13. Bip bip, popadom, bip, da popadom.
  14. Aww. Even more annoyed I forgot to nominate now because I would've had two. -_- Glad Soeur made it through to this stage anyway!
  15. You missed me. :(

  18. Might have been my favourite entry of the year? Deserved better but considering its place in the actual contest 26th in TBO is amazing! Banging banger tbh. Great winner! Happy to have something in my votes top the leaderboard haha. Weirdly I gave Saving Light 7 points, the same amount I gave it in it's contest.
  19. Thanks for hosting the final Seven! Bit of a shame about the turnout but it was a nice opportunity to hear all of these tunes. Great winner, (and a bit of a runaway despite the low numbers :o ) though tbf a high proportion of the songs were fantastic.
