Far more than I thought when I first saw this thread! I've seen Matthew Koma live supporting Owl City (this was waay before I joined Buzzjack though) and I guess Owl City was a BJSC artist too with "Strawberry Avalanche" and a feature on "All About Us" by He Is We. As of last week I've also seen PVRIS of course as well as both Coin and Tyne supporting them. I've seen Bastille (Laura Palmer was an entry right?) and BJSC 78 winners Rationale supported them (before I joined BJSC so I didn't know them before but still). I've seen Years and Years supporting Clean Bandit (they were on a feature on Magician's "Sunlight" - of course that blew up I guess after the contest) and Clean Bandit themselves as they were in BJSC 52! Also seen Shell Perris who I believe was a Seyetana entry. Seen Against The Current too! I've seen The Hoosiers twice and weirdly enough it looks like they were entered into BJSC 6! :o From my own entries I've seen Imperial Leisure, Sœur and Meadowlark live. If we're including Nuggets I've seen Wildwood Kin and Beach Weather. So 15 in total, 17 if you include UP/ Nuggets. Honestly didn't think I'd seen too many artists live but I guess it really does add up if you include support slots and events. I don't think I sought any of them out as a result of BJSC but certainly from my list seeing them was an inspiration to enter them. Still, it was cool making the connection and the entries piqued my interest in several of them more, plus them being in the contest sometimes indirectly got me more interested in them. I think the contest has more of an influence on me than I realise sometimes- the first I heard of PVRIS was St. Patrick because of BJSC and it slowly grew from there. I've gone on and collected more music from several artist entries before if I really liked the entry song.

The artwork is a weird one because in the past Owl City artwork has always been so aesthetically pleasing and Cinematic seems way too busy. The cityscape background and the reels on the side look great but all the items and people in front look kinda stuck on and out of place. I get where he's going with it because (iirc) the album's supposed to be more autobiographical than previous albums so the images are meant to represent that I guess? But it could've been blended better- maybe if half the images were cut it'd work. Tbf I do like the lil Ocean Eyes era Adam in the background haha. For the first few seconds on my first listen I got so excited haha. That said, I'm not a huge fan of the group vocals (I can live with them but they're not great) but when it gets to the "let me hear you say yeah" part at the end of the chorus it seems really odd, like it dips into a different song then back out again. The 2nd chorus is great because it doesn't go into that section. The song also ends that way. It's a shame because it's a song with great potential that's slightly spoilt by an odd structure and cringe. There's lots of good in it but overall it just didn't work, no idea what happened with it- I've not felt any real desire to go back and listen to it a huge amount which is unusual for new OC. Fiji Water is lovely- slightly reminiscent of early OC. The 5th of July is really cute too, lovely power ballad. All My Friends aside I love how his sound is maturing, of course I'll always miss Ocean Eyes/ All Thing Bright and Beautiful but this whole guitar/ electronic mix is working really well for him.

Okay this is still happening just had a networking event at uni! Going to aim for 20:30 to start this- at the bus back home right now, might be a taad later but 9 at the latest. Fortunately it's only 25 songs so either way it won't go too late for anyone with an early start (I reckon 2 hours max). See you then! Ooh yeah the trackpad's great. I got a (2nd hand) Magic Mouse 2 as well, use it occasionally if I'm at my desk and that's great as well but the finger combinations on the trackpad >>> any other trackpad. Yeah I didn't think it was huge but I only had a couple of weeks to experience Sierra, overall the OS has run without a hitch really. The addition of "High" makes it sound even more swish though and I like it. :lol: But yeah to update my answer to the original question: On my 2nd Laptop and I guess 2nd Desktop (or 1st because the other wasn't solely mine)- in both cases, 2nd time lucky. x

I guess the walkers were actually quite prominent (still bitter over Shiva x) but what I mean is they're not really "the enemy", they're either a mildly dangerous inconvenience most characters can deal with fairly easily or tools used by either side of the conflict. Still, they were used well enough in the last episode with Ezekiel being vulnerable and seeing them take out unwitting saviours. Like I say I'm still enjoying it, and you're right there's no point watching if you're not going to be constructive or even mildly optimistic about the show's future- it does irritate me seeing too much destructive criticism too, no idea why you'd watch something you hate. I'm enjoying all the episodes (except for episode 2 - I think it was 2 - the one with literally just firefights for the entire episode) and I look forward to it every week. That said, while it's still a good show it has declined so I'm probably being critical because of the previous higher standard.

I love it, absolutely made the right decision. :lol: I still use my desktop a lot but I use my Mac at uni all the time, also when I travel or just generally around the house rather than just my room. It's so pretty, has a really nice sound system (I couldn't believe they were laptop speakers when I first used them), runs smoothly, has fantastic resolution and I love the touchbar/ touch ID. Plus it's got Logic X which I've been wanting for ages- I still use Ableton a lot tbh because that's great too but it's nice to have the choice, there are things you can get in one you can't get in the other. I also have access to Final Cut Pro and the like if I ever decided to get into video editing (maybe one day who knows x). No regrets. In terms of laptops, yeah this is the best I've ever come across- looks like it's set to last for years. Windows should only be for powerful desktops, it's painful how slowly it runs on lower end laptops. x High Sierra's going well for me so far as well, recently upgraded from Sierra a no problems so far. Have you got it yet?

Yeah I've got work Friday evening but I'll sneak a peak in my break and catch up when I get home. It's fine, I haven't got my own entry to track anyway. x #notbitter

^Okay there are a couple of others that are fine to win. xx But really qualifiers as a whole were very disappointing to me and this was one of the few I was really happy about getting through, this is probably one of my favourite BJSC discoveries.

No idea what the results will be like but for me this is the only acceptable winner.

Forgot to comment last week but turns out having Morales back was utterly pointless seeing as he was killed after mere minutes. Why even bring him back if the plan was just to kill him? I guess it ties up loose ends with what happened to him but it was a wasted opportunity. This week was ok I guess - sad to see Shiva go - might be interesting to see how Ezekiel's affected. Still enjoying Carol but even with her there are still too many firefights. I'm so done with the ducking behind cover and machine guns thing. Everyone's still too separate, people surviving as a group was great. That said, looks like the Kingdom's unravelling so maybe the cast will eventually be back together in one place? Idk, I'm still enjoying the show but I miss what I got from it in the early seasons. Also can the walkers become an actual threat again? I don't know how it'd be done but they seem so secondary.

Come on, Send Them Off! is an absolute bop (as is Blame). There are loads of amazing tracks on Wild World (it helped seeing them live as well x). Still prefer Bad Blood overall I think but Send Them Off! is in competition for my favourite. World Gone Mad is very different to what I expect from them (with the acoustic intro and everything), not their best song by any stretch but it's lovely. :wub:
