    "You're a spark set fire"

Our new entry is "Dear Adelaide" by Breanne Düren, known for her work with Owl City and more recently a couple of solo EPs (and an older unreleased LP). This is actually Breanne's second entry since "Daydreams" was entered to BJSC years ago-- I actually got obsessed with that track at the time because of that so thanks whoever entered that! I've been following Breanne's solo material for a few years and this EP Gem is relatively new (2015), I contributed to the fundraiser for it and received a signed physical copy of it! I've only recently got into this EP in a big way and I was ridiculously torn between this, "Dizzy" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17kPL_mfL2w) and "Sign Of Life" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqkpmkjf044), particularly "Dizzy" which builds so well and is an absolute tune- it even has the lyrics "Oh you spun me like a dj, got me dizzy from the replay" which I thought would be so appropriate for this contest.

The only reason I switched was Dizzy takes a little while to build up to it's glorious peak (please listen to it if you're interested!!) and I sort of felt if I entered it it'd be a bit like that moment when you're showing a song you love to a friend and you're going "wait wait the best part's coming in a moment" and they're totally not into it. Like usually I'm not worrying too much about what people think but also your own entry is as much an opportunity to share a song as it is for yourself and I sort of decided "Dear Adelaide" was a better song for introducing Breanne (even tho Dizzy really got me into this EP but nvm).

ANYWAY, "Dear Adelaide" itself is a great indie pop track with lots of stuff in there, a good amount of banging synths with some lovely guitar decoration and a beautifully catchy chorus, the bridge/ instrumental section really got me with this one though so listen for that- hope you guys enjoy!

Also the "clue" is because her EP is called "Gem". ^_^

It's The Walking Dead, if any show can get away with more gore it'll be this one.

Maybe we won't see it as directly as that again though, potentially some sneaky cutaways could make it less graphic.

  3. That wouldn't be so great but I doubt it, we've still got 4 episodes to go this season and I don't think even TWD (tbf only S7A really did this) would drag a short term storyline like that over 4 episodes. I don't think they'll be rid of Negan though at the end of this season, I think they'll defeat him perhaps and regain their independence (not for sure but could well happen) but I think the saviours are going to be around for a little while more.
  4. Idk I really liked that episode, besides they weren't just focussing on Eugene (who I'm actually liking more and more as the series goes on), there was a lot more of Dwight and his backstory and you got even more of a sense of what life's like at The Sanctuary. I think Negan's over the top acting is an essential part of his character, he needs to be swaggering with confidence to be able to pull off and maintain the operation based on fear he's got going. It's remarkably sinister how quickly he can switch from his intimidating fake chumminess to srs/ possibly murderous.

Also in the most recent episode it was really good to see walkers actually being mildly scary again (in that fairground/ army camp).

I agree it's great to see the group back together and it feels like things are actually picking up a lot and there's a real sense of hope for the main characters which is what S7-A desperately needed but never really got. Not sure what the hell is wrong with Rosita though, way too hot headed at the moment and honestly I have a feeling that whatever she's planning with Sasha's going to backfire and have repercussions for the rest of the group. We'll see though.

She just completely took me out of the moment with the way she was talking, I kept thinking why is she talking like that? It was like she hadn't had human contact in decades, which she obviously has.

As for Carol this is the woman who was willing to kill people of her own community when she thought they were infected in the prison illness storyline, blew up terminus killing loads, killed Lizzy as she was so warped etc. I just don't buy this whole story line for her.

True but that kind of thing will have a toll on an individual, especially considering how different she was pre-apocalypse, she gained the ability to do all those things but she's not a sadist without a conscience so I don't think it's unrealistic for her to be on the brink of a mental breakdown.
  5. Ha yas now I'm revealed I can finally thank Harry for giving top 2 to fake me and real me, perfect set of votes there.

Aelandor is supposed to be a useless nation.
M8 you know I always do better in spinoffs. I picked Atlas Genius because I thought Stockholm was such an unjustified DNQ and was hoping to get justice for them in this. Hopefully that'll work out.
