she sounds great when she’s singing with her chest voice but this sort of talky singing she’s got going on doesn’t work for me. it’s a musical theatre trait of course but she sounds like she’s talking through it + it has that really banal tone from her speaking voice throughout it. i’ve heard much better versions of ‘with you’, bless her. ‘i know him so well’ features sheridan smith btw - not ‘with you’.

forget you not was one of my top 3 from lm5 - the fact they paid it dust + made it a deluxe track is literally insane + showed that the label really didn’t have a clue. little mix knew the fans loved it, they even acknowledged it when they announced the set list for the tour + it wasn’t there. it got a huge amount of hype when perrie was playing it in the car + that was just a snippet on instagram. complete wasted opportunity!

i haven’t seen the episode yet but i’ve seen the spoiler + i’m not mad, just disappointed. priyanka’s a good drag queen so it’s deserved + it could have been any of the top 5 tbh! i just came to say.. that lip sync song - ICONIC.

i didn’t want rita to win a few weeks ago but i’ve done a complete turnaround - out of the 3, id prefer her. i think she’s funny, i understand her more, she’s worked hard + overall the most polished. priyanka is too messy, thinks way too much of herself for what she’s offered + her looks have never been anything breathtaking. she was funny at first + i was living for her but she got too much + i’m over her. i think ms bobo got lucky, didn’t do much of note + definitely not crown-worthy. it was a toss up between lemon + jumbo for me as fave from the season but i went for lemon. even though i preferred some of jimbo’s looks a little more, lemon just had more about her. for miss congeniality, i went for tynomi just because i think they’ll feel bad that she was a ‘star’ + kinda bombed.

blindly believing it was live is misguided. it’s not a slight or a dig, the whole performance was pre-recorded, multiple shots + reshoots. the vocals were pre-recorded for ease in post-production. she sang those vocals just not live at that time. listen to how gaga talks through the mask when she’s accepting the awards (slightly muffled) vs the clarity in which the vocals shone through in the performance x

i thought the performance was just gift after gift. the only thing i would have changed is the running order - to give stupid love the end slot when it wasn’t nominated was a choice. to me, it would have flowed better had it kicked off with a bang with 911 (which went off!) then slowed it down to do her thing with the piano + then ramping it back up for stupid love full band to set the pace for rain on me to be the finale + the ‘event’ but it i guess they wanted ariana out a bit quicker. vocals were on point (again the whistle register) but i definitely feel like they were live pre-records. they had plenty of time to record them masks off - there are points where gaga doesn’t have the mic anywhere near her mouth + the sound never falters.. but i mean, it didn’t affect the performance at all + i can’t even comprehend how they performed with them on to begin with. i might be on a high but i think it’s my fave vma performance from her :o

i love the video! now it’s all cgi it’s easier to understand the initial delays - it seems they struggled with jade’s first chorus as you can see the lines around her hair. that section also annoys me because she sings “all up on my body babe” first but she’s clearly singing “feel up on my body babe”. i hate spotting things like that cause now i’ll always look for it :lol: did they do this socially distanced too? the scene where they’re together against the wall, was that cgi to put them together? cause they did a great job on that if they did! love the mermaid scenes, how glossy + airy it all looks - it just clicks visually and sonically.

he does on the version i’ve heard?

we have back to back bops + i’m shook! there’s actually some awesome material here - ‘teary eyes’, ‘tucked’ + ‘not the end of the world’ are standouts for me. ‘resilient’ has really strong verses but the chorus lets it down massively.

it was quick, to the point + precise - what more could we need? :lol:

imagine having the salute album + releasing 'little me' + doing a cover of 'word up' when you have the likes of 'competition' 'towers' + 'a different beat' sitting right there!
