ah, i just assumed the voice notes were a new thing because of your post in their thread yesterday, i haven't been following 5sos the way you seem to have been following dua. we may have to wait a bit longer because yes, dua added them to the cd later on to up the ante, but dua remains booked x

tell the truth - how many voice notes are you getting? :P

probably the plan to send them later all along then - they were being offered (granted in certain bundles) from the beginning, unlike the voice notes x

pop music is winning right now! boyfriend gets a new top 10 peak, break up song + break my heart debut top 10, physical's up to #3! :wub: dua debuting at #2 in the albums is fine, she'll get plenty more chances at #1 + i got the signed album for a bargain! it's a good job those 5sos boys won't be able to go out for a while - imagine how many voice notes they're going to have to record :lol: dua on the other hand had already signed the cards, anticipating demand. the albums are already en-route x

nobody in this thread is going to tell me that 5sos + their team care so much about giving to the nhs. they could just.. donate? they could make it all of their songs that they’ll give the proceeds to.. they wouldn’t be baiting their brand new album, in a battle for #1 this very week, as a tool to provide a percentage of only those sales going towards an nhs fund if they actually cared. tactics like that can affect the charts in an unfair way + then, to some people, makes it less about the artist + more about donating to the nhs. for example: sandra from facebook may not give a toss about 5sos but hears that they’re donating a percentage of the funds to the campaign + wants to help provide more for the nhs. she’ll probably bin the cd + think she’s done good. it has cheapened their campaign. both acts were fighting fair by offering bundles, signed cards etc but it’s a cheap tactic to pull on the heartstrings in the middle of the week because the gap is closing in - cause that’s all it is.

dua isn't underperforming - you can't compare her singles success because albums are a different game. regardless of what happens this week, dua will sell more albums so there's no real need to worry. it's a little disappointing that 5sos have resorted to using the nhs to try + sell more albums, it was a clean game until then.

at one point she was pretty big in the uk - had a string of top 40 hits including 6 top 10’s, one of which was a #1 single.

yaaaasss! buttons in my fave pcd track, back then + still now. to me it epitomised what the group was about much more than don’t cha which was just a novelty in the end. i remember when don’t hold your breath got revealed to be nicole’s, i was ecstatic. at the time, we’d heard about 4 different versions of it with different vocalists, different production.. so when this track was released it was so refreshing to hear nicole’s take on it + how they’d amped up the production - though carl falk + rami never disappoint. it was a good time to be a nicole fan because she’d got so much good faith from the uk scene + when she began promoting this, it was so well received that #1 didn’t seem out of the realms of possibility (it was in the days where songs were #1 for a week + there was an actual race each week) - very exciting + a deserved winner IMO. i don’t know how people can argue with the results when we’re the ones that did the voting x

wasn’t a huge fan of rock m so it isn’t a huge loss. aiden, widow + brita to go soon - they’re my least faves rn.
