i don’t need to listen to them back, i listen to them regularly + melody sings on most of them, especially the ad-libs. that’s erm.. singing. i’m perfectly aware of the friction + i acknowledged it can’t have been nice. i’m saying that she’s still bitter about it + can’t get over the fact that she isn’t a lead singer in the group. if you’ve watched the documentary, you’ll know that carmit, melody, ashley, kimberly + jessica were hired to be dancers for the group. it was only when they took off that there was an issue + they then wanted to change the contracts. they had no leg to stand on, which is how they didn’t get anywhere sharing the vocals but the label threw them an olive branch + let them record solo songs for doll domination. melody’s delusions of grandeur exploded on stage numerous times + her not doing this reunion whilst releasing her own single is petty asf. i’m a massive pcd fan + back in the day (10 years ago on the doll domination tour :cry:) some friends + i went to quite a few of the dates on the tour. we would wait outside their hotels to meet them + finally met them in london. they were leaving the hotel + were heading to this morning to perform whatcha think about that. ashley, jessica + kimberly came out first and were the sweetest. they spent around 15 minutes with fans taking pictures + signing autographs. they all got in to one car together + left. melody then came out on her own, with an entourage, and told the 7 fans waiting that she was just taking pictures - not signing autographs?! she took the pictures + got in her own car. nicole came out last, signed my cd, hoodie + took pictures before getting into her own car. i guess for a singer like melody, signing autographs may have been too much for mic-holding hand.

it was behind the music. + it was always melody that was doing the shouting at concerts or stirring them up. can’t have been nice for one of them to be treated differently but i think it speaks volumes that she’s not doing this because she’s still a bitter betty. melody more of a singer? so much so that she did dancing on ice this year that included.. no singing. and passing up the opportunity to sing in this. she had vocals on pretty much all of their singles. she would have sung on this comeback.

i think it’s pretty clear that melody was the cause of a lot of the friction in the band. can’t have all been nicole if the other 4 are willing to work with her on this but didn’t reach out to whiney melody. + i know the gig would be nothing without nicole but nicole/ashley/kim have supported each other throughout their other endeavours so there can’t be that much bad blood.

the distorted vocals throughout are from the chorus - it’s “for the moment” + “ever searching” on loop! it’s most prominent as the song opens.

i watched this last night + i was bored.. i usually have a few i’m rooting for but i was just sitting around waiting for kelvin. thought the dances were mediocre compared to other weeks (even kelvin’s really) it was definitely missing michelle for sure. not really surprised by the bottom 2 .

i just saw it was nominated! no shade, i love ari ofc, but i don’t think this track is grammy-worthy.

it’s a mixture of uk + us stores but as jay said, they’ve ‘sold out’ on the uk store.

whoever made the decision to move this clear late-summer single to an autumn release needs a good telling off. it’s just not going to gel when everything -the video, the vibe of the track, her look - screams sunshine. some may not think that’s important but the connotation that the visuals from a single provides is really what connects you to a track (especially when it’s not being played on radio/in clubs etc).

so i may have gone a little overboard last week + bought this on cd single, red cassette, green cassette + 7” vinyl :kink:

for the record, i don't think anyone's confused that it's not a single - i think they just don't buy it :kink:

hated that they'd let designers change it up every year, glad its going back to the britannia figure. if there’s talk of them removing the male/female categories, i think it’s time they brought back the genres.
