i think it’s pretty lame of artists to keep dropping her name to bring some hype to their projects.. regardless of who they are. it’s the 2019 celebrity version of saying something on msn + then going “that was my friend”

out of them, i want david to win the least.. which means he probably will. the most deserving has to be steph but i feel like the final 4 are really boring now + i’m not really rooting for any of them to do well.

the media has to grasp that with each year that passes, the way that people consume television evolves. so many steaming platforms, the catch-up services.. and it means that live/overnight figures don’t mean as much. the final number is really all that they care about and the consolidated figures are never reported on as they represent a much better number + have less of the shock factor. strictly’s numbers are down year on year but that’s probably because their line-up isn’t as strong but that also adds to those that don’t care too much about watching it live + will catch up later. x factor is doing fine! there’s nothing to replace it that will pull in those figures so we will be seeing it for a while. the only thing i can think of is the masked singer being a massive hit + they put it on in autumn the year after.

i don’t understand why they released this so much earlier than the films release date. i mean, unless it’s an actual musical, the soundtrack doesn’t give anything from the film away so doesn’t build much hype?

i don’t understand how that affects your enjoyment, though? whether it’s just for charity or they get a recording contract, the process is still the same. plus, i think the idea is that they get to make an album. so it’ll be the usual syco fodder. it doesn’t mean they’ll quit their day job to become a singer. the format is different for the celebrities so it’s just something on the side. bradley walsh releases albums but still does the chase.

just dance! i think it’s a bit disingenuous to claim that poker face was the track that set off her success.. it was a 1-2 punch that took her to the next level but just dance is a million-selling hit + it’s iconic! so easily identifiable - the amount of people that thought she was singing “a red wine!” at the beginning of the song.. :rolleyes:

yeah, this season is missing a star. billie, leslie + cody are great supporting cast but it feels a bit more scream queens than ahs this season tbh. emma is a scene stealer, she shouldn't be leading the show - that's what went wrong for scream queens. i think it would really benefit it to add another more familiar face; adina porter, kathy bates or frances conroy - taissa could have even been one of the 'gang'.

i think the right person went, he did absolutely nothing! and it annoys me when they do nothing and then go into the boardroom like "this is a mistake, bringing me in!" :lol:

she/the label had one shot at making her happen when sweet but psycho got to #1 but so am i was not it. psycho was a faceless hit so she can’t ride that, i’d bet a large proportion of the gp wouldn’t be able to tell you who sang it. i don’t know where the fault lies - she should have promoted over here much sooner if she wanted any longevity. we just don’t know anything about her, she’s boring + she doesn’t have the bops to back her up.

the song itself is not flat - for me, i think it's more to do with ava + her delivery. it would be lauded if another pop girl had it to give it some personality.

i love her but taylor pretending to not know how that works when she released 4 almost-identical box sets for her fans to buy to manipulate the charts is a reach.

i am living! i absolutely adore jlo + was so disappointed when she cancelled her manchester show. really wanna see her live, she gives everything! shakira will be fab too. i’ll be staying up to watch this one :wub:

because she’s a pop artist + the tide will always turn. she’s already starting to lose a little momentum (#13 debut?) and as much as she says it doesn’t matter, if she starts to ‘flop’ with her peaks it won’t be good for her. she needs to let people miss her!
