iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 31st July 2015
It's kind of brilliant that One Direction have had so many red updates yet they're still selling three times more than anybody else. I've got a feeling they're not gong to let this slip like 5SOS did, it's not like Silento has set the world alight on itunes so far anyway. I'm pleased to see Galantis rising too, and that's before their airplay kicks in

I absolutely loved Night Changes which didn't perform amazingly so hopefully when I hear the new 1D single I'm not disappointed because to me it's headed for number one this week, you can see a huge difference already between the lead 5SOS had and the lead they have right now. I'd imagine it'll not take too long to catch up with Silento on streaming and honestly it can't be a good thing, that Silento song is awful!

Radio 1 Discussion 2015, Part II
I can see Radio One playlisting Peanut Butter Jelly by Galantis today. It's been featured in the advertisements for their Summer mixes and the video was just released yesterday. Example is another one I'd be surprised to not see play listed after he was TOTD the other day. I can't remember if the new Aleeso song has been play listed yet but Radio One seems keen on it already

British TV Talent Shows - Chart Stats
It's odd because when I was reading about Andrea's album sales on Friday and wondering how he stacked up against other releases by X Factor alumni so thanks so much for putting all the figures together. I wonder how Ben Haenow's album and the next X Factor winner's single are going to perform

Aston will be flying up the charts now in a similar way to how 5SOS did last week, as a front loaded fan buy to begin with that then stabilises and falls down towards the end of the week. I'm kind of rooting for him to do well in a weird way, there's always been something kind of likeable with the JLS guys in my eyes, being available on NOW will definitely help his cause too.

With the title making me instantly think of a novelty song I genuinely thought I was going to hate Peanut Butter Jelly but I heard it on the radio on Sunday and since then I can't stop listening to it, it's infectious, a little bit crazy and so euphoric! I much prefer it to Runaway now and hope it does well!

The #1s Show with Cel Spellman
Sam and the Womp, out of all the number ones over the years that they could play, they had to choose this...

The #1s Show with Cel Spellman
I kind of like that there's relevance to some of the number ones, like the song that's number one in the dance chart and was number one last year. It makes more sense than just random number ones throughout the whole episode, I actually like the show and the idea of a threat to track what number ones were played

Could have the Chart Stayed Sunday's
I'm happy enough with the change and prefer it to companies releasing big singles on Friday and only having two days of sales worth before the Sunday Chart is revealed but I do wish that the current Friday format would be tweaked just a little. To me starting the chart at 3:30 would be much more ideal and would give them enough time to play the new entries. I don't even think it's a matter of cutting into Scott Mills show, before when the midweek chart update was on a Wednesday his show lost half an hour so I can't see the harm it would cause. I just think for bad or for good it's not fair that a song enters the top 40 in the charts and doesn't get played so that's the only change I'd like to make.

I don't know if many people have noticed but Aston's song is actually on the new NOW album, which Nathan Sykes wasn't able to achieve. I can see it charting in a similar position to Nathan though, but with that said it'll be more impressive for Aston, considering it'll be a full week with streaming more than likely all included.

I can imagine whatever fans Stereo Kicks will have left will be blaming themselves for the lack of success Love Me So received. I always felt there was no chance an eight piece boy band would work, their lack of popularity even during the show itself was writing on the wall to begin with

I expected it to be falling from the number one spot on Sunday, but I'm surprised at just how quickly She Looks So Hot is tumblng on Kworb. Says a lot about the 5SOS fan base when they reached number one on iTunes yet One Direction fans recently couldn't get No Control into I think the top 100 during No Control day

Now I understand the John Newman stuff I do find it kind of funny, but that's not to say I would have if I'd been around reading about it for as long as some have :P Reminds me a little of that Livewire prank that happened earlier on this year! I guess number one really will depend on how much streaming Little Mix have been getting, I definitely can see 5SOS tailing off when their fanbase have bought the single, it's not the sort of single I can imagine many of their non fans buying and streaming unlike their other two hits which I found pretty infectious actually

Do you really think so? I mean I can't imagine it'll sell as much in the first week as She Looks So Perfect, and I doubt it'll sit at number one on iTunes all week. Also it seems like Spotify are sorting out their problems so Little Mix will have a strong streaming advantage from the get go EDIT- I've also only been browsing on here since the turn of the year so I'd love to know the meaning behind the John Newman love, it even had me double checking his number ones today to see if I'd missed a few somehow :D

I see 5 Seconds of Summer have announced a new single to be released in two days time... I wonder if by release they mean it'll go up for pre-order then or if it'll be immediately OA/OS from the get go, it's not on iTunes yet

I love Body Talk but right now I'm not sure that it's going to chart in the top ten either. It's such a good song that I'm hoping it'll be put on the A list by Radio One which will help it have a bit of longevity regardless of its peak though

iTunes Weekly Thread 5 days/C 5th July 2015
I find Black Magic to be quite listenable but I'm surprised to see how amazingly well it's done on pre-orders. I wonder if it has a chance of coming close to the biggest weekly sales song for this year. I think the current biggest weekly seller is Wiz Khalifi but I can't remember his exact sales

QUIZ: name the uk top 40 hits of 2015
I just got 60, mainly because I was playing the game and customers coming into my work halfway through. I'd have managed around 100 without the interruptions though I stumbled over the spelling of a few songs I knew. Needing the bracketed words in some songs makes it a bit more difficult

Radio 1's chart day
Finally catching up on here from the beginning and I'm loving it, everybody has done such an amazing job, I don't think I've ever been on a forum where members put in so much work to make the experience of reading it as enjoyable for everybody else. I'm kind of sad that charts are finished with on Sundays, but mainly because I think it's a shame that the top 40 won't be played in full any longer :(

Predicted End Of Year Top 10
I definitely think that Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars will be able to hold onto the top spot. This week Omi will cross the 1 million mark but his sales are beginning to slow as new Summery songs are beginning to take over and I reckon Uptown Funk will hold on. I also think See You Again, Take Me To Church and Love Me Like You Do will hold on but that's when it gets more difficult. Hold Back the River will probably hang on to the top ten and I reckon Lean on will reach there soon but the rest, I'm not so sure about

Chart Battle Predictions: Sunday 5th July
I'd love Years and Years to get the number one spot but I have a feeling Fifth Harmony have pretty much got it sewn up with David Zowie being the closest contender. There's just something about Worth It that screams number one to me, even though it's not personally something I'm keen on.

iTunes Weekly Thread w/c 29th June 2015
I think if Freak of The Week manages to snag a top 10 position it's going to surprise a lot of people, off of the top of my head I think it's currently doing better on iTunes than Fester Skank was which missed top ten by a whisker. A lot of it is definitely down to the Jerimiah effect, seems like everything he touches over here does quite well in the long run

Radio 1's chart day
I'm going to be away all weekend for my anniversary but at this point I'm almost more excited for getting home on Monday and reliving this thread/listening to the music on iplayer. I loved following the one hit wonders and this is going to be even better because most songs are going to have retained their familiarity.

PREDICT: Avicii - Waiting For Love
I think that there's no way Avicii can possibly get past Little Mix in their first week for some reason, I just can't shake Black Magic claiming number one, and quite easily now at that. I also feel that in the second week Little Mix will have enough about them to beat Avicii on sales and with their streaming increasing I think they'll hold on for the second week too. While I'm far from a Little Mix fan I actually really like Black Magic but that doesn't stop me from wanting Avicii to still reach number one. Though with that said, I've found that Waiting For Love is a song that I loved when I first heard it that has sort of worn off on me a bit, if the same happens for everybody else it may struggle.

iTunes Weekly Thread w/c 21st June 2015
I'm hoping that the interest on pre orders will allow it to come close to reaching the top 20, it's so catchy and Jerimiah seems to have some form of a fan base over here because his features constantly seem to do quite well. I'd trade a top 20 placing for it lasting around the top 40 for a good while though.
