iTunes, Weather & Justin Bieber W/C 28th August 2015
Sometimes I forget that officially Summer doesn't end on the first September :( I'm still sorry to see Cool For The Summer not achieving the success I assumed it would. With Air Play increasing for What Do You Mean and the VMA/video effect still staying strong Bieber is actually pulling even further ahead of his competition. I guess that's number one sewn up for this week if it wasn't already

iTunes, Weather & Justin Bieber W/C 28th August 2015
I'm not as seasoned when it comes to where a song charts in correlation with its pre-orders but for whatever reason I was convinced that Demi would definitely at least challenge for the number one spot so it's been disappointing that really she won't even get close to it. I almost wish it had been released a little earlier too, it just doesn't feel right that a song called 'Cool For The Summer' won't even be officially charting in the Summertime.

iTunes, Weather & Justin Bieber W/C 28th August 2015
I kind of expect Justin Bieber to go on a run almost in between how One Direction and 5SOS did. He won't canon ball down the chart after losing the iTunes number one but he also won't stay there long enough to be number one like One Direction performed. Time will tell but I think he'll grab a lot of attention slotting solidly into the top 5 somewhere.

Sigala ~ Easy Love
I'm nearly certain that it's going to be number one and achieve at least 100,000 sales on its first week, especially if they continue to rise and rise on streaming like they have. This song has long running hit written all over it

The Buzzjack Friday Chart Show Thread- 21st August 2015
Thanks for the amazing job you've done as co-host today Joseph, I'm looking forward to more great Friday Chart days like this. :) It's crazy this is Jess Glynne's fifth number one already, despite the fact as a big star Jess kind of goes under the radar in my eyes, which is a good thing. I learned a lot today, I never knew that Martin Solveig was the man behind Hello and what Galantis sampled for Peanut Butter Jelly, another song I'm overjoyed to see finally cracking the top 40 this week!

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 21st August 2015
I'm not a lover of Fight Song but it reminds me of the likes of Sara Bareilles and Vanessa Carlton, it's been a while since we had a female singer songwriter one hit wonder style song so I welcome it. Drag Me Down by One Direction has started to rise on iTunes to coincide with the video release. It'll be interesting in its chart history to see the sharp drops for two weeks and then the rise this week

Predict the peak position of JoJo's comeback tringle
Below top 40 for sure, I didn't even know that Jojo was releasing music again. I used to love Leave when I was younger so I wish her all the best. I didn't know that she'd had so many problems with her record label too, I see Leave is non existent on Spotify and even difficult to find on Youtube.

Predict Demi Lovato's Cool For The Summer debut.
I'm really convinced that Cool For the Summer is headed for number one. None of the new entries that week will beat her and I think that the sales of Aint Nobody and Fight Song will have dropped enough for it to squeeze in.

Radio 1 Playlist 24-08-15
I'm really surprised to see the remix of Aint Nobody not being supported by Radio One. I thought it has a radio one A List staple written all over it and it even was a track of the day as well. I'm so glad to see Run Away with me added like a few others wil be, I think I enjoy it more than I Really Like You. I'm surprised to see One Direction didn't rise to the A List. I'm not their hugest fan but they had no problems promoting that awful Bring Me the Horizon song to the A List

Friday Chart Predictions (Thursday Update + Top 5 Sales)
Has Galantis climbed into the top 40 yet? :) With Peanut Butter Jelly just to specify

Friday Chart Predictions (Thursday Update + Top 5 Sales)
I'm not One Direction's biggest fan because they're not my kind of music (though they've done two great single releases in a row now!) but I don't think you can say that they outright have no talent, even if performing was all that they did and they had no input into writing, and it's undeniable that they're the biggest boyband in the world right now and will be for the forseeable future. I'm surprised to see Drag Me Down fall out of the top 5 though, their streaming has remained quite decent so I thought they'd only fall a few places. It's hardly a fail when they got to number one with the song regardless. It's good to see Peanut Butter Jelly just out off the top 40 at number 41, I think it's going to squeeze in by Friday!

Friday Chart Predictions (Thursday Update + Top 5 Sales)
Mint Royale hasn't given much away in the last few weeks due to being busy with other things it seems so we need something else to talk about :D I think Marvin Gaye is going to break the 90,000 to 100,000 sales barrier this week. I have a feeling it's pre orders are going to surprise some people, they aren't what they used to be but it's been in and around the top 100 sales on itunes for quite some time

I had a feeling Calvin might sneak in and grab number two! Little Mix did have an amazing run at the top for three weeks though.

I agree, I gave The Hills a chance last week and haven't regretted it, absolutely adore it. I don't hate CFMF though to be honest!

14 weeks in the top 10 for Cheerleader now, it really has been the anthem of Summer 2015 for me, though I have to admit that I'm pretty much tired of it by now

I really like Omen on the first few listens I've had, I'm guessing it's going to begin to pick up more and more steam in the next few weeks and reach the top 10

The Buzzjack Friday Chart Show Thread- 7th August 2015
That was my first time hearing Silento in full and it actually was as bad as I originally thought it was, sadly I still think it's going to rise in the next few weeks, especially if streaming continues to pick up for it, it really is just random noise in a way. And next up is Trap Queen, I bet ML Hammer is enjoying this sequence :D I can't see how Cilla not charting in the top 40 is "disrespectful" either. Does that mean that everybody who didn't buy the single was showing disrespect towards her? I wish she'd reached it too but I didn't buy it and it wasn't out of disrespect.

The Buzzjack Friday Chart Show Thread- 7th August 2015
Cilla Black just missed out at number 41 which is disappointing :( I'm glad they mentioned her at least though. Oh dear at Foxes too, I wanted her to do so much better than this...

The Buzzjack Friday Chart Show Thread- 7th August 2015
I'm hoping that Cilla clings on to a top 40 spot after the events of Sunday but I have a feeling that she won't have managed just enough which is a bit of a shame. I'd also love to hear Shaggy reached the top 40 but I'm not sure how likely that will be. Fingers crossed Joe Stone gets a decent enough chart position too, though Silento can fall as far and as fast as it wants to -_-

Radio 1 Discussion 2015, Part II
I noticed that they do that with a few other songs such as Criminal by Lower Than Atlantis and Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People (normally played at least once every fortnight on Greg's show). I know the later was still a much bigger hit than The Ballad of Mona Lisa but it's just a strange strategy when a few other acts struggle to get listed at all.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 31st July 2015
I don't view One Direction falling to third with practically no AirPlay as a flop, they're number one for sure this week and I reckon they'll hold up for a top five easily enough when AirPlay picks up next week. They were itunes number one almost all sales week. It's not like 5SOS who were only there for like a day. I see Peanut Butter Jelly is beginning to rise after being played a couple of times on Radio One today. Expecting it to properly hit its stride when the B listing kicks in on Monday.

Friday Chart Predictions (Thursday Update + Top 5 Sales)
The battle for album number one is pretty interesting, I think the Maccabees did a live session for Huw Stephens last night which might have helped them regain the lead today but it seems like Linanne La Havas has been catching up during the week and holding up better. It's a seriously impressive outing no matter what

Radio 1 Playlist 10-08-15
I'm sad but not surprised to see the Vaccines, Foxes and the Chemical Brothers leaving but overall I enjoy most of the new entries. It's nice to see Galantis added to the B list especially when Maroon 5 and Tinashe are stalking at the C list

Friday Chart Predictions (Thursday Update + Top 5 Sales)
I don't find her slotting into the top 40 as make or break a deal now because no matter what she won't receive a play so I won't be as disappointed if she manages to miss it by a few spots. Musically the song isn't to my taste but I do agree it's a nice tribute to somebody who was a massive star so I really hope it'll

Radio 1 Discussion 2015, Part II
Gregory Porter getting that Radio One relevancy is a sight to see! Without sounding overly pessimistic I wonder if they made it track of the day because in essence they have to have something for track of the day and decided to use it. I guess it doesn't always guarantee playlisting does it?
