iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 31st July 2015
I'm not just as sure how well Marvin Gaye will perform in the second week now. Like it's said above I thought it would be top 40 in pre orders as well now. I know pre orders aren't what they used to be but Marvin Gaye has been in the top 100 for iTunes preorders for what seems like an absolute age so I can't look past it being number one next week no matter how little it performs in streaming

Friday Chart Predictions (Thursday Update + Top 5 Sales)
I finally heard Drag Me Down and it sounds almost Maroon 5-esque which for me can't be a bad thing, like it's said above how their release was handled is a true triumph and shows OA/OS can work during the streaming era. I'm interested this week how well Joe Stone and Silento chart. To me Silento was written all over as a massive number one so its underperformance is pleasing. I'd also love Shaggy to reach the top 40

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 31st July 2015
I'm now imagining an older ML Hammer in 40 years time who has brought his children up listening to the classics such as Freak of the Week and Trap Queen  I'd love to see Cilla Black chart in the top 40 as well but I hate the attitude that because some song is by a boy band or pop act that it's any less "real music" than the music they like, it's simply not a fair attitude to have. I'd say if this Youtuber reaches number one on iTunes he'll be guaranteed a top 40 place this week no matter how hard he falls, it was enough for 5SOS two weeks ago so I can't see why not

Friday Chart Predictions (Thursday Update + Top 5 Sales)
I love how what seems like a boring and slow week sparks into action and becomes one of the more interesting ones in a while. I do think One Direction will run away with it this week though, their streaming numbers are incredible

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 31st July 2015
It's kind of brilliant that One Direction have had so many red updates yet they're still selling three times more than anybody else. I've got a feeling they're not gong to let this slip like 5SOS did, it's not like Silento has set the world alight on itunes so far anyway. I'm pleased to see Galantis rising too, and that's before their airplay kicks in

The Buzzjack Friday Chart Show Thread- 31st July 2015
I'm really happy with the top 10 this week, there's not one song on it that I can say that I don't like, though sadly that's to change next week when Silento gets involved, I think that Glitterball being top 4 was a good result, especially if it has any form of longevity, I wouldn't say Ella has to worry about her career yet. Happy birthday by the way Jade :D

I wasn't expecting John Newman to have such a dramatic fall which is disappointing, at least the peak position for Come and Get It was decent

The Buzzjack Friday Chart Show Thread- 31st July 2015
I like Greg James but I hope he doesn't make constant comments every week about how a song is too slow for being played on a Friday. It's the chart, the most popular songs of the week, people aren't going to decide not to pay for a song because it'll sound out off place on a Friday afternoon

I'm not overly worried for Disclosure because with increased radio airplay and a full week of sales it'll be well into the top twenty this time next week. I'm so disappointed for Foxes though, I was convinced Body Talk would fight for the top ten and come pretty close, but I'm hoping it'll rise a little next week, Foxes isn't flopping just yet.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 31st July 2015
I absolutely loved Night Changes which didn't perform amazingly so hopefully when I hear the new 1D single I'm not disappointed because to me it's headed for number one this week, you can see a huge difference already between the lead 5SOS had and the lead they have right now. I'd imagine it'll not take too long to catch up with Silento on streaming and honestly it can't be a good thing, that Silento song is awful!

Friday Chart Predictions (Thursday Update + Top 5 Sales)
The mods do so much hard work on here with the updates they provide and such I'm surprised there's not a lot more insignificant typos than there is <_< I think its a better idea to thank them for all they do instead of nitpicking :P I'm crossing my fingers that Aston hangs on to the top 25 so he can get a play on Friday. He has such a devoted fanbase and is even on NOW so I'm disappointed he's falling so hard in the predictions. I'll be interested to see if The Score and Shaggy can sneak in tomorrow on another note. It has to be the Score's last chance! (Something I feel like I've said every week since they started to perform well on itunes!)

Radio 1 Playlist 03-08-15
So pleased to see Galantis being added after my initial skepticism to the song, the increase in airplay should be enough to see it begin to rise on iTunes now. I'm disappointed to see Tame Impala dropping out because the DJs have given it a lot of praise this week which I thought might be a sign it was going to last another week and surprised to see Pharrell Williams rising, because Freedom doesn't seem to be doing much right now. I'm also sad Conrad has been snubbed because after hearing his song as Track of the Day I was convinced it'd be added and go on to do big things. It's a bit of a lost opportunity for Radio One in my eyes, especially after the success of his vocals on Firestone.

Radio 1 Discussion 2015, Part II
I can see Radio One playlisting Peanut Butter Jelly by Galantis today. It's been featured in the advertisements for their Summer mixes and the video was just released yesterday. Example is another one I'd be surprised to not see play listed after he was TOTD the other day. I can't remember if the new Aleeso song has been play listed yet but Radio One seems keen on it already

Friday Chart Predictions (Thursday Update + Top 5 Sales)
I'd love to see Shaggy enter the top 40 again after all these years. Considering how well he's doing on iTunes now I think he's going to make it! I don't know why it's a massive issue that Little Mix are benefitting from extra NOW sales though, because it would just end up with the other version being bought a bit more and Little Mix's streaming is more than enough to keep it at the top anyway regardless. I'm interested about how next week will work out however, it's going to be such a slow sales week so I'm curious about what happens

Friday Chart Predictions (Thursday Update + Top 5 Sales)
Honestly Glitterball was a song that I imagined would perform similar to Higher, charting in the top 5 during the midweeks then falling a bit more by the end of the week. Now considering the lack of weekend streaming it'll be well within the top five so personally I think that'll be considered as an excellent result for Sigma, especially if it beats Higher out in terms of longevity. I'm surprised Aston is charting so lowly, I wonder if he'll be able to hold on in the top 25 before Friday now.

British TV Talent Shows - Chart Stats
It's odd because when I was reading about Andrea's album sales on Friday and wondering how he stacked up against other releases by X Factor alumni so thanks so much for putting all the figures together. I wonder how Ben Haenow's album and the next X Factor winner's single are going to perform

The Buzzjack Friday Chart Show Thread- 24th July 2015
She's Kind of Hot fell from number ten on Wednesday to number eighteen?? Considering how badly it's falling on iTunes I'm not even sure if it'll be in the top 40 next week! Shocking!
-
The Buzzjack Friday Chart Show Thread- 24th July 2015
I thought when I seen that song by The Score in the top 40 on Wednesday's predictions I was convinced it'd stay in there, guess that's the last chance for it now... I guess also it was the last chance for the Chemical Brothers, a shame because I think Go is a real tune!

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 24th July 2015
Aston will be flying up the charts now in a similar way to how 5SOS did last week, as a front loaded fan buy to begin with that then stabilises and falls down towards the end of the week. I'm kind of rooting for him to do well in a weird way, there's always been something kind of likeable with the JLS guys in my eyes, being available on NOW will definitely help his cause too.

Friday Chart Predictions (Wed Update + Top 5 Sales)
I personally think Andrea has done quite well if he manages to hang onto a top ten spot. His first album was never going to be a big chart topper in my opinion but it's done well enough to ensure he does have a career in music. If One Direction are the only third place act to ever release an album he's done amazing to get this far to begin with. Also I agree it would have been the perfect album for the Mother's Day market, though I guess they risked him just having a covers album ready in time for then

Friday Chart Predictions (Wed Update + Top 5 Sales)
I don't hate 5SOS in the slightest or particularly love them so I feel like I've got an impartial opinion on the matter but personally I can't see She's Kinda Hot performing as well as Don't Stop or She Looks So Perfect because honestly I don't think She's Kinda Hot is as good as the other two. To me it's nowhere near as catchy so how it's doing isn't really that bad. Id imagine they have a bigger single planned that won't be OA/OS that will challenge for number one just as much as the first two singles

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 17th July 2015
With the title making me instantly think of a novelty song I genuinely thought I was going to hate Peanut Butter Jelly but I heard it on the radio on Sunday and since then I can't stop listening to it, it's infectious, a little bit crazy and so euphoric! I much prefer it to Runaway now and hope it does well!

Friday Chart Predictions (Wed Update + Top 5 Sales)
I only realised through accidentally listening to it on Spotify. Originally I thought it might have been somebody's cover version of Lost Frequencies, an easy mistake to make because it was just an album track that didnt get much recognition originally. Andrea Faustini's album place has to be a little disappointing considering he has built up what seems to be a bit of a devoted fan base since leaving the X Factor, for their sake I hope it doesn't fall too hard during the rest of the week

The #1s Show with Cel Spellman
Sam and the Womp, out of all the number ones over the years that they could play, they had to choose this...

The #1s Show with Cel Spellman
I kind of like that there's relevance to some of the number ones, like the song that's number one in the dance chart and was number one last year. It makes more sense than just random number ones throughout the whole episode, I actually like the show and the idea of a threat to track what number ones were played
