By-elections 2024
Wow, I didn't expect Labour to hold on here especially seeing how many votes Galloway took (gross). Hopefully the Chesham and Batley results will put an end to the 'Tories are invincible' narrative now.

Wimbledon 2021
It felt like rewinding at least 5 years watching a tense late-night Murray match again. Amazing scenes with the crowd back on Centre Court too!

UK Ratings Discussion • 2021
All of the soaps are being pummelled in the ratings the past few weeks. Corrie has been barely above 4m and Emmerdale dipped below 3m - neither far off where EastEnders has been settling ratings wise the past few months. Whatever the circumstances, shocking to see EastEnders drop below 2m for the first time and it's happened for 4 episodes in a row!!

England vs Germany
Southgate's tactics of boring us all to death for 80% of each match actually working!! 😭

England vs Germany
I can't quite believe England won lmao. Shocking miss from Muller - it would've made for a very different game towards the end if Germany equalised. Credit to England as being the only team to have not conceded a goal yet in the tournament. Pickford making some important saves again this match

Coronavirus Discussion
It's certainly looking like the UK is heading for a substantial 'exit' wave that may even eclipse January given the insistence that full unlocking will go ahead. The only saving grace so far is hospitalisations remaining relatively stable despite the surge in cases. What's strange is the surge in Scotland compared with the rest of the UK? All nations have similar vaccine uptake (Wales a bit ahead) and fairly similar level of restrictions. It does seem more than a coincide that the big surge started in the 48 hours following England v Scotland! That really can't have helped at all.

The Weakest Link
Now confirmed by the BBC! It's a 12-part series that has been ordered.

The Weakest Link
The Sun is reporting that The Weakest Link is finally coming back for the revived celebrity series, this time with Romesh Ranganathan as host! I had a feeling it would come back since the recent US revival went fairly well. Romesh is an interesting choice as host.

The Tory lies and deceit thread
A breach of social distancing laws (not guidance) and potentially yet another breach of the ministerial code then. Nothing seems to be a resignation or sacking event anymore. Even Theresa May at her weakest had the balls to sack Williamson and Patel. What does a senior minister have to do to get the sack from Johnson?!

Group F
France, Belgium, Italy and Portugal all on the same side of the knockouts(!) Whoever wins of England and Germany looks to have the relatively easy route to the final.

That was quite a lot of chopping and changing in the table over 90 minutes. Whew.

Lorde vs Lana vs Billie
Lana >>>> Billie is great too but she hasn't been around long enough to compete with Lana really. Never heard of a Lorde sorry x

Evening Standard list Dua's best songs
Cool getting the recognition it deserves

England v Scotland
Very poor from England...Scotland very much deserved that point. Indeed it's quite a final match up for Croatia v Scotland. All or nothing - a draw will see both teams out!!

By-elections 2024
Stunning result for the Lib Dems :cheeseblock: And they managed to do it without sustained daily media hype like the Tories had with Hartlepool.

By-elections 2024
It would be quite a turnout for LDs to take Chesham & Amersham but I don't see it happening.

The Tory lies and deceit thread
Cummings is now leaking WhatsApp messages with Johnson repeatedly calling Hancock 'hopeless' and wanting to sack him back last March/April (!) @1405114704629055496

UK Ratings Discussion • 2021
With thanks to DS, here's how GBeebies performed on Day 1. It beat Kay Burley's breakfast show on Sky but overall came in third place for the day, marginally behind Sky. The demographics skewing massively male and ABC1 can be quite valuable for them in terms of attracting advertising revenue (well, those who are willing to be on the platform lol). Sadly, it looks like GBeebies is safe for now! GB NEWS 6.00am – 9.00am Breakfast 79,200 (2.5%) * Peaked just after 8am with an audience of 140,000 (3.3%) * Men accounted for 70% of the audience, with almost two-thirds of viewers (62%) from the ABC1 demographic. 6.00pm – 8.00pm Dewbs & Co. 135,000 (0.9%) 8.00pm – 9.00pm Andrew Neil 153,000 (0.9%) SKY NEWS 6.00am – 9.00am Breakfast 58,000 (1.9%) News Channels > All Day Average / Share (6am – Midnight) BBC NEWS CHANNEL 138,400 (1.7%) SKY NEWS 78,000 (0.9%) GB NEWS 74,100 (0.9%)
