I don't want to jinx it, but is the government actually going to succeed at something for once? Some much needed positive news in a week of bleak / grim stats in the UK. @1353013673862819849 (also proves that outsourcing to the private sector is bad and this is what the NHS can achieve when it's allowed to do its job without the Tory chums interfering)

Me trying to add up to 15 songs

I think It's A Sin will be quite low overall but 16-34 audience will be strong. I expect it will be similar to Russell T Davies' last project Years and Years in that it was hyped, had a good buzz and was well received but won't have widespread appeal beyond the twittersphere and younger audiences.

An interesting poll from YouGov suggesting a wave of pro-vaccine sentiment sweeping Europe with UK the highest at 81% willing to take it. @1352549339579736064

Rumours are that the Euros are now going to be in a single location, presumably to reduce travel between countries and increase the prospect of having a small number of fans in attendance.

I just noticed all of the government briefings / news specials are on iPlayer going back to the first one on 16 March. Can't wait to catch up with the series, I missed what happened x

It's quite eerie / shocking thinking back about how fast things escalated and how slow people's mind sets changed from Covid being a little threat that will pass one week in Mid-March to being incredibly serious and with us for the long haul. Even as late as the first/second week in March, I was still being made to travel for face-to-face meetings and court hearings and clients were making jokes like 'let's not shake hands and elbow instead lol', 'see you in a few weeks when this will all have passed'. Then within 2 weeks everyone was ordered to stay at home. The week of 16 March to 23 March had so many 'you had to be there' moments. It's quite alarming looking back when you think on the Monday, the government's message was 'wash your hands and keep your distance' at the first Downing Street conference and then just 5 days later all bars and restaurants were ordered to shut and people were being encouraged to start working from home if possible and then another three days later a full national lockdown.

I ended up binging this really quickly just after New Year. I thought the first episode was a little slow but once you get to episode 2, it's quite a ride right through to the series finale. Episode 1 is the slowest so anyone who is wavering shouldn't be put off, it's very much a scene setting episode before the big drama that follows. I agree that the non-linear story telling is definitely the highlight! I'm not normally a big fan and can find it hard to follow but in this case if it had been linear, I don't think the story telling would have been quite as impactful or effective. When I saw it was an eight part series, I expected it might be a bit of a drag to pull it out across so many episodes. But it's very well crafted and spaced out!

Be The One vs. Physical

Top programmes in the consolidated ratings for the week of 4-10 Jan 2021 (including devices) 01. Prime Ministerial Statement - 14.08m / 14.33m (BBC) + 5.45m / 5.48m (ITV) 02. BBC News (Mon 20:10) - 11.05m / 11.13m 03. Death In Paradise - 8.32m / 8.42m 04. The Masked Singer - 7.27m / 7.32m 05. Coronation Street (Mon 19:30) - 6.78m / 6.88m 06. A Perfect Planet - 6.35m / 6.44m 07. Countryfile - 6.32m / 6.34m 08. Emmerdale (Mon) - 5.88m / 5.94m 09. The FA Cup (Sun 16:30) - 5.69m / 5.76m 10. EastEnders (Tue) - 5.25m / 5.40m A couple of big ratings on Channel 4 - Gogglebox (5.14m / 5.21m), 24 Hours In Police Custody (4.45m / 4.57m). 24 Hours In Police Custody seems to have come from nowhere with a stonking rating?! The second episode was only slightly lower. I can possibly only see an England match in Euro 2020 (do we officially call it Euro 2021?) and maybe Line of Duty or I'm A Celeb topping that by the end of the year. A strong start for Death In Paradise, which is up around 300k year on year and very good for The Masked Singer (one of its highest ever ratings there).

I didn't think I'd ever say this about a sea shanty but I am fully on board with Wellerman becoming one of the defining hits of 2021 lmao

I'm a sucker for a song with some garage influences, so naturally am loving this. It's definitely Anne-Marie's best in years! She's churned out some right shet recently.

Belated reaction to Save Your Tears entering officially :cheeseblock:

This is boring as hell

Agreed! The outro sounds a bit flat without them - I really don't understand why they'd go to the trouble of including the outro on the track itself but then take out the adlibs :/

Lana is climbing again on Apple Music today so hopefully she'll have a nice rebound on Spotify with the NMF effect.

Both Doja and Megan's verses are fab! Agreed, it's a shame the third verse was cut from this remix but at least we have the original version.

 He can't even keep up with his own trolling anymore :')

Yeah it seems very unlikely "motive" is going to be a single now. Especially since we all know how quick Ari likes to move on these days (RIP "bloodline" and "bad idea").

I'm surprised The Pembrokeshire Murders increased that much for its final episode. I tried a bit of episode 1 but also didn't think it was anything special? There have been better dramas recently that have rated worse, but true crime + ITV always seems to be a winner! Reminds me a bit of The Salisbury Poisonings on the BBC last year - nothing particularly special / very little online hype but rated very well.

I honestly cannot believe her vocal adlibs over the outro in the video are not on the track itself!

OMG get this to #1 NOW! The Kunts who?

I'd very surprised if Doja isn't one of them since we know she had a verse ready for this that was scrapped. Or maybe it was for a remix all along?

Omg who is it? Two of Doja, Nicki or Megan pls x @1349400919377645576
