Could the Official Chart ever move to commercial radio?
OCC should never be associated with the BBC as this is purely commercial activity

Could a Christmas song go to #1 this year?
So who decided about streams being included to the charts? Did streaming companies give money to OCC under the table or artists like Drake/Rihanna etc paid them for including it? I would remove streams and add votes to song popularity instead of sales. People could send emails or have a song lisstings on a website and can vote for songs Remember Reshuffle on this website works really well pushing likable songs and eliminates thrash pushed and pumped by music industry pretty quick. Last weeks can be reshuffled with last three songs being permanently eliminated from the charts would do a brilliant work IMO

The Buzzjack Friday Chart Show Thread- 16th September 2016
Good morning ladies and gents. I did not read this thread yet (damaged Sky line) but I can say one thing Calvin Harris song 'My way' is sooo good (heard yesterday on Wolverhampton Free Radio) that if it does not go straight to number one next week something is wrong in the chart on merit. This song will be club anthem for next months and I can only regret summer is nearly gone

The Buzzjack Friday Chart Show Thread- 9th September 2016
Chainsmokers produce a lot in a very sort time. They are on top so they have to deliver a lot in a very short time. That implies copyright violations. I think it is a good business to sit on their neck and study everything they release It is way more profitable for them to say straight they copy and give a source than got caught later Dont mentioning image scar, it is well at least it should be a big image scar when band got caught on plagiarism

The Buzzjack Friday Chart Show Thread- 9th September 2016
Chainsmokers took big chunk of their song - the chorus - from that song Question is are they friends like Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Williams so it was officilal or was it a cheeky jump. The second scenario usuallly does not pay off

Closer is a copy of this song Christine and the Queens - Tilted No one spotted similarity there? At least chorus is 100% copied

Lady Gaga song is awful and nothing to remember. More like Drake farting but she is no black so no chance to stay high and being played all over UK

Ed Sheeran sued by Gaye family
Songs are no way similar. Gaye family everyday searching youtube and trying to find some 'alimony' It is like accusing random man on the street of paternity. If they have 'tool' why not py them I wonder how on earth did they get sentence - judges or jury were 100% black? Only in these circumstances. BTW taking a melody should be not penalised few months after song leaves chart. Plagiator contribute towards greter exposition of original artist and help him to sell more. Why should they pay for this. It is rather cover artists should be payed for increasing popularity of the 'original' at least after original hit has been forgotten

Friday Chart Predictions
I think with all the evolution album chart is pointless and boring. Some albums stay for four years in the charts, artist can buy himself number one in chart when managing his debut in weak period and big promotion expenditure like Michael Kiwanuka recently and many others. Only singles chart in the race, of course there are some mega albums debuts each year but PEOPLE ARE BUYING SONGS - NOT ALBUMS. And Im afraid it goes more and more towards singles. Will Bastile roll into TOP 10? I thinkits impossible they beat 'Pompei' but they develop in interesting way
-
Friday Chart Predictions
I mean reverse situation. Not 'single selling album' but 'album selling single'. There is much bigger sale of singles than albums anyway in general. It is logical when album is sold it means single in it is sold. Iasn't it? But how is this sorted out?
-
Friday Chart Predictions
Does album sale add to single sale when single is included in the album? It definitely should!

Friday Chart Predictions
I tjink the chart should be compiled in a different way. Yes it is a weekly chart but the sales should be taken from let's say three previous weeks. We would avoid 'blitz'es which distort chart, just because artist died is no argument to make him number one unless he sells really lot. Charts run like NEW at number one then dropping onto 28 or from TOP 40 at all - that 'comets' should be eliminated. How? Just sum three weeks of sales ahead of each chart compilation and you have the whole picture. Real hits will make number one anyway but it will be less of them Next week just cut the very last week from three week period and add recent week's sale And we will have a real picture of hits

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 4th August 2016
Where is DJ Snake/Bieber clip to be heard? Not in youtube? Another greeedy artist combining how to increase revenue? Well maybe gets one week in the charts and then get off!

Friday Chart Predictions
If they weren't dead no one would give a toss about them Shame for the artist - selling only because of death, and customers - buying only because an artist has died

Friday Chart Predictions
Ariana Grande 'Into you' Another likeable song was slayed on the chart due to greedy policy no putting the song openly but forcing people to pay for listening This just adds to Olly Muirs woeful performance. Hopefully 'One Dance' was one off case and from now on all the greedy artists will bbe non existing on the chart, I dont want even to hear about them

Friday Chart Predictions (Wed Update + Top 5 Sales)
Why is American market so 'steady'. Once song gets into TOP 10 stays there for 6 months, hardly any moves and maybe a few NEW ENTRIES in TOP 10 for a year. Typical British Top 10 (this week, last week, totAL WEEKS) 1. NEW - 1 2. 1 3 3. new - 1 4. 2 12 5. 8 3 6. 24 2 7. new - 1 AND SO ON MANY MOVES AND NEW ENTRIES Typical American top 10 1. 1 14 2. 3 10 3. 2 22 etc you know what I mean No new entries, longevity of singleson the charts, almost no changes Why is it like this?

Friday Chart Predictions (Wed Update + Top 5 Sales)
If I was Drake I would buy 50 thousand copies of his own song to make a history. 16-18 weeks on op would be historical for decades Low price for eternal fame

Friday Chart Predictions (Wed Update + Top 5 Sales)
I still claim Olly has lost due to limited reception. If I recorded a new song I would care to spread it everywhere possible, as early as possible. Limiting access is an own goal and backfires and he is a victim of this backfire and this is why his song is not top 3-5 but 30 which is laughable for such a catchy song. He did put youtube song way too late, it was impossible to hear it many days and when he saw the song debuted at place 23 and next week was no better he decided ultimately to release it in yt - way too late And I hope everyone trying this 'smart' strategy in future will not even get into charts

Friday Chart Predictions (Wed Update + Top 5 Sales)
Not at all Song is an advert for a people to buy CD, DVD, go to artist concert, raise popularity and awareness. Why should people pay for advert? Are you mad? I know some people are so stupid they pay but chart singles are an advert for artist and it is in theyr interesst to have it popularised as early and widely as possible I am flabbergasted artist find mugs who pay them for seeing their adverts
-
Friday Chart Predictions (Wed Update + Top 5 Sales)
If Olly put his music openly for everyone he could enjoy TOP 3-5 presence, now due too his greeedy strategy he will be nowhere near there Where do you you see 'smartness' here? He gambled and lost, he can not even manage even top 20 which is shameful performance by not so bad song. Spotify is a paid service, everyone knows and there are plenty of gimmicks even if it is named 'free' so I and majority not even bother to go there And now I have a gleee every song trying to follow Drage will be clobbered in the charts
-
Friday Chart Predictions (Wed Update + Top 5 Sales)
Yes he put his song on youtube after seeing tragic run on a charts. Greedy strategy did not work so he desperatly tries to get into the charts pretending he is 'open' But first idea was to put song only in paid websites and he was severely punished by so poor chart run People are no fool long term now the song is tooo 'worn out' and he will not have a good chart run at all
-
Friday Chart Predictions (Wed Update + Top 5 Sales)
Olly Murs thought not putting song on youtube will repeat Drakes career. And I am very glad he has been severely punished as his song is likeable and potential top 3 song but is deep in the basement.Hopefully every artist which wants us to pay to listen to his songs will be heavily punished like Olly from now on as he will surely lose a lot of revenue thnks to this

here we go virtual song is number one again I will make a song and say 'this is the best song of the world but you must pay 1000 L to listen to it but you won't regret' And make millions, just about spreading gossip in social medias People are fools
