Brazil vs. Peru in the final. Brazil beat Peru 5-0 in the group stages, getting revenge for Peru's 1-0 upset in 2016 Centenario edition of the tournament which knocked Brazil out at the group stages that year. Peru is a MUCH better side than being the losing end of a 5-0 thrashing, hopefully they'll step up.
  2. But in all fairness, well played to England giving all they have and thwn some!
  3. Haha seeeeee ya Bright hit the showahs!
  4. Justice is served what a save!
  5. Now THAT is a bad call.
  6. Get White an Oscar for that bit of acting, my word!
  7. Thank goodness for VAR that was the correct call. Offsides by a fullstep.
  8. Looking at all these English fans 'praying' for a different result today, haha. Not against the Brazil of Women's football. 3-0 U.S.

I think it looks like a clear Brazil vs. Argentina and Colombia vs. Uruguay semifinals to me, though any South American team can beat one of their rivals on any given day. If I were Qatar or Japan, I wouldn't be ashamed with their performances.
  13. I personally think in this case, having teams like Japan, Canada, and Brazil not in the QF is a surprise in itself. You have to remember that those non-European teams were originally more of a powerhouse in women's football than some of the newer Euro squads who've developed like France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and England. Those teams were not QF regulars prior to like 2015.
  14. That penalty was very weak, especially at that juncture in the game. I was rooting for Japan because their play was more adventurous and bold. However, that Daniella De Donk on the Dutch team is a cutie.
  15. Haven't been able to watch but two Rapinoe penalties have us winning 2-1 with barely any time. Were both penalties clear cut?
  16. Romania is League C, Scotland is the top of League C so they would play someone from League B because they would only have three teams in this scenario...
  17. According to UEFA yes, but not FIFA.
  18. If EURO qualifying ended today: Qualified England Czech Republic Ukraine Luxembourg Northern Ireland Germany Republic of Ireland Denmark Hungary Slovakia Spain Sweden Poland Israel France Turkey Belgium Russia Italy Finland Playoffs Portugal vs. Croatia Netherlands vs. Switzerland Bosnia-Herzegovina vs. Scotland Austria vs. Wales Norway vs. Romania Serbia vs. Bulgaria Georgia vs. Belarus FYR Macedonia vs. Kosovo
  19. Group A - England have this in the bag, but what will be fun are the two matches yet to be played between Czech Republic and Kosovo which will decide the second slot. Group B - Ukraine is pretty much in. Luxembourg only has points against Lithuania so realistically they're out and it really comes between Serbia and Portugal. I give the edge to Serbia since they already have a draw in Portugal. Group C - Let's pump the brakes on crowning Northern Ireland, since they've only played Estonia and Belarus. Netherlands on the other hand have only played two matches. Group D - Ireland have set themselves up but still have a few tough matches left. Denmark did themselves well with that wild 3-3 draw in Switzerland, but the Swiss have an additional game left to be played. Group E - Hungary got two key home wins but they're in a tough group and only have one Azerbaijan game left as an 'easy' win. Wales are in some trouble unless they get some big wins in the fall. Slovakia and Croatia seem to be the ones to watch for qualification if you ask me. Group F - Spain and then it's between Sweden and Romania. Norway would've been in this discussion but getting only a draw at home versus those two hurts. Group G - It will be Poland and hopefully Israel who still have a return trip to Austria after beating them at home. Slovenia could still be a sneaky threat since they have four home matches remaining. Group H - The most competitive group so far. France have the softest schedule though or so it would seem. Iceland still have to go to Turkey but I would say all of their remaining matches are winnable, even the home match versus France. We'll see though. I'd put my money on France/Turkey. Group I - Clearly Belgium and Russia. Group J - Clearly Italy and Finland.
  20. Turkey romps France 2-0 on their home turf and turns around to lose away to Iceland. So this shows Iceland aren't dead quite yet. Greece dismantled by Italy at home, then lose one to Armenia three days later at home, that spells doom for their World Cup chances.
  21. The 'Group of Death' is D because Namibia are better than that 113th ranking. Also Mauritania have been developing very well the past 5 years or so, as well as Madagascar. I wasn't shocked one bit to see them qualify. Don't be surprised if they make it to the knockout rounds. I'd have to say Senegal or Morocco win this.

Brazil have this in the bag, I'm afraid. I'll be interested to see how Qatar fare as this could be a nice preview of how they'll do as hosts in 2022, showing people how they stand up to real competition.
  23. Only "upset" there could be argued to be Kosovo but I'm not calling it one because frankly Kosovo is better than people think. Too bad Luxembourg couldn't sneak a goal in there for a surprise draw, it would've really made the dream of their unlikely qualification more possible.
  24. First tournament winner this month is Zambia winning the COSAFA Cup over Botswana, their fifth such title and first tournament victory of any kind since their upset win over Ivory Coast in the 2013 African Cup of Nations. Asia has Guam, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Mongolia, and Bangladesh advance to the second round of its 2022 WC Qualifying where they will join the 34 nations with a first-round bye. Groups for that are drawn in July.
