I think it's a really great song. I think it's definitely recognisable. Some of the accidentals and adlibs really give it a signature sound. I think it's a really strong track. For me it comes together really well. FUMF had all the right individual parts but sounded wrong when you put it together. It was missing a bit of magic that could bind all of the instruments. This sounds cohesive. From what I've heard of I Am, I don't know that it's going to have a huge impact but I've got no idea what they've got planned. Either way, I really like what I've heard of this I Am, Ladders and I Got You. Essence of Me I found a bit bland, but I know others found Thunder bland so it's all relative. But I don't like EoM at all. Power sounds good vocally but not to my taste - it definitely sounds interesting though. I think Leona's voice has a tone to it which is coming through really well on the tracks, particularly on Ladders, I Am and Thunder. Really looking forward to hearing more now.

Saying put money in her and slots in the same sentence make it sound like she's a slot machine haha
  3. Yeah, I much preferred that as soon as I heard it. Not a fan of Alive in general but the Drive one gives it more of a story. It sounds like she means it more somehow. Less clean. They need to have the vocals more raw like this. I'm listening to it now and it sounds 10,000x better.
  4. Yeah, I know some people love FUMF and I'm so glad that they do. I'm always gonna buzz off of people liking her songs but sadly for me FUMF was never gonna hit the big time. You know a hit record when you hear it. Bleeding Love obviously a hit. FUMF didn't sound like a hit for whatever reason. And Joe, I can see what you mean now haha :P.

I agree. One of my favourite posts. 100k+ copies of an album is enough for someone to make a career out of. Plenty of people do that. I just hope that at some point she does something a little more creative along the lines of Janelle Monae or Frank Ocean. Just takes more of a risk.

I do agree that Leona's diction isn't particularly clear. I really like the big notes on Thunder because she's never really done full Leona attack before. The lyric thing, I'm afraid I do agree with you not because it's repititious but because it's about something that people don't necessarily relate to. I'm speaking as someone who hates empowerment songs with a passion so maybe I'm biaised but I don't think it's people's jam to listen to songs about overcoming adversity all the time.

I don't know why fans roll over about this. Leona has a horsey vibe. She doesn't look like a horse and even if she did, it's not necessarily a bad thing. It's not like she looks enough like a horse to confuse her for one.

It sounds, to me, a million times better than FUMF. The vocal is much better and signature of Leona. On FUMF she sounded like she was about to cough at some points in the first verse. I'm new here, so I can't post the link but just look up Thunder Leona Lewis on YouTube. It's there.

Did Siri seriously just call Leona a horse? I think that's a general response which has unfortunately sounded like a dig at Leona. I love it as a recent philosophy graduate. I don't think Leona would have a problem with the horse stuff. She's obviously a really beautiful woman so she's got no reason to take it seriously.

It might be the end of Leona's commercial success but I think it's a bit more open-ended then that. Lots of people comeback from the brink but I can understand why people are quite dubious about her chances. I really love Thunder and I hope it does really well. Haha I remember the days of Natasha Bedingfield, she was actually quite talented! Whatever happens, I think she'll have a career to speak of. Going the way of Natasha Bedingfield is fine, just so long as she doesn't go the way of Sinitta. It's sad though: Joss Stone had crazy vocals but she didn't last long, same with NB. These things happen. You've just gotta hope the artists can find peace with what they've got. Watch this space though, it might not be over. You might be right, but I hope you're wrong
  11. Looks like Leona's fire is causing a MELTDOWN! ;)
  12. Haha okay. Truce man. Let's grow. Fly like a bird. You totally got me there, I'm in the habit of acting like a nun ;).
  13. There's no beef. It's all good. It was a riposte. No intention to go one with it. It's confusing having two forums though. Didn't even know there was another one. Makes me wonder how many forums there are like this. I know Soe mentioned ATRL but I've got no idea about that one really. This looks like a happy place so I'd look to keep it that way. That one rejoinder aside.
  14. I know right? What an unprecedented arsehole. Let's just hope he doesn't join Buzzjack. And in terms of locking up... my behaviour has not lead to absolutely no punitive measures whatsoever: carceral binding is not a stone's throw away for me my friend.
