Streaming is killing the charts
It's annoying because whatever your opinion is, the fact is streaming is rising and rising year on year and is becoming the next big thing. Just like physical single sales are now 96% digital. I think OCC just wanted to keep up with the current trends, I hope streaming doesn't take over actual downloads but unfortunately I think that will be the case in the future. It was going to happen eventually (them incorporating streams) but thank god we don't have YouTube streams or anything like America does, then it's basically just a free for all

Bad Blood (ft. Kendrick Lamar)

Reflection | 1st album
I Searched through the #5HUKInvasion tag on twitter! Friday Download is gonna be 10th July (S: CBBC) G-A-Y is still the same (S: Jeremy Joseph tweet) GMB was confirmed by Simon in an interview with Richard Arnold and Summer Time was tweeted BUT.. BGT performance looks unlikely. Semi Finals all next week and and the Finale on the 31st. They're performing on the 30th of May in London, so it is a possibility, but I don't know whether Simon will give them THAT much promo

Tinashe - Watch Me Work 39. Disclosure - Bang That Analysis The BBMA's impacted the Charts this week, with Taylor Swift's star-studded 'Bad Blood' music video catapulting the song into pole position, making a the first #1 debut of the chart from it's inception. Other debuts include Little Mix at number 3 with 'Black Magic', Tove Lo at number 19 with 'Not On Drugs', Meghan Trainor at number 29 with 'Title', and two Eurovision entries from Conchita Wurst and Eurovision winner Mans Zelmerlow. Charli XCX is the only entry that has stayed put since last week, the rest of the chart moving with a downward pattern seeming to overtake an upward lift in chart positions. One of the greatest gainers in Empire's 'NY Raining' featuring Charles Hamilton and Rita Ora, up to number four this week. Expect next weeks chart to be heavily Eurovision influenced, although who knows what could happen by the end of the week!

Reflection | 1st album
They're doing Friday Download for CBBC G-A-Y on Saturday 30th May Good Morning Britain on 5th June (with Simon Cowell) Summertime Ball on 6th June All they need now is Graham Norton (although they'll probably do Alan Carr, Graham just seems to have more of an impact on the Chart) and they've definitelygot a top 15 in their hands. Although I think the UK were Robbed never getting a proper 'Sledgehammer' release. That is Capital FM personified :cheer: And knowing Simon, he'll have them do BGT Semi Finals or Finale, considering this isn't getting released until the 21st June

Time to get out
I don't think we should withdraw, I think we should go back to National Selection and maybe not be a Big Five.

Bad Blood (ft. Kendrick Lamar)
No. 1 on iTunes and No. 10 on Midweek :w00t:

Iggy Azalea - Trouble (feat. Jennifer Hudson)

Eurovision Song Contest 2015 · Semi Final One
:D Finland and Denmark  Scandanavia must be crying. Although Sweden are a front runner I kinda hope they don't win this year. Props to Estonia, Serbia, and Belgium (Although I think he got through on popularity - on Tumblr he's big for being a Lorde / indie alternative male) Maybe the UK has a *slight* chance of making a dent in the Top 15 purely because it's not boring :D
-
Bad Blood (ft. Kendrick Lamar)
Oh sorry my bad! I thought Z100 was on Urban, I know it was played Hot 97 in NY which is Urban :) - I think it's the Kendrick effect though. He's arguably the biggest rapper in the U.S. so far this year (perhaps Drake is bigger, Big Sean also) so he definitely adds more appeal for the Urban audiences. Yeah I completely agree with 'Sugar' - number 8 debut purely for it's MV I believe - but Taylor is arguably the biggest pop star in the world right now - we'll be able to predict further when VEVO 24H comes through! :D
-
Bad Blood (ft. Kendrick Lamar)
Could this finally dethrone SYA from the US Hot 100? I think if she gets a 300k+ sales week, YT streams reach 25m+ and she's got a chance, it's just radio that takes time to get on board. The remix is phenomenal, and I think they cut both of Taylor's verses so that it would impact Urban Radio in the US as well as Top 40 and Rhythmic. US Station Z100 (Urban) already stated they're playing this on the hour every hour, so who knows B-)

Iggy Azalea - Trouble (feat. Jennifer Hudson)
At least it's a certification, and for the SEVENTH single of an Album campaign, to get a certification is decent enough for her to end TNC+RC's album campaign. I believe Work, Fancy, Black Widow and Trouble would have all received certifications this era? I'm happy enough with that :D
-
Iggy Azalea - Trouble (feat. Jennifer Hudson)
Any sales update for this? Has it gone Silver yet?
-
Meghan Trainor feat. John Legend - Like I'm Gonna Lose You
Eh, it's nothing special. The "feat. John Legend' might excite Capital enough to playlist it, Radio 2 possibly also, If this goes on Radio 1 i'd be surprised. Top 25 is my estimate
-
Bad Blood (ft. Kendrick Lamar)
Initially I hated 'Bad Blood' but the new remix >>>>>>>>>>> This has Top 20 potential, would like to see Top 10 but it's very US-centric so that's unlikely.
-
Charli XCX - Famous
I'm undecided how I feel about this single. We've still got till the 1st of June before it's official release so maybe with some radio playlisting and some TV performances (dare I say it, possibly BGT) we could get a Top 20 peak and then I'd be very happy with the Sucker campaign. 'Need Your Love' is my favourite but that can never be a single. For an album that peaked at 15 (I believe) to get two top 10s, a top 20 and a top 40 is decent enough if this follows through. Video is cute though :P
-
Bad Blood (ft. Kendrick Lamar)
The Kendrick revamp is so much better than the original. I would have kept her second verse though. I've seen people on here complaining people were thrown in for the sake of it, but we need to remember it's a music video and not an actual film. If you were Taylor Swift, with a phonebook longer than most of her competition's chart history, and you wanted to make a camp, fun, girl power video - why would you get random extras when you can have your million dollar supermodel friends? :D

Israel · Eurovision Song Contest 2015
Strongly believe this is Israel's best entry in years, would love to see it make the final
-
Pretty Girls ft. Iggy Azalea
Imagine if we got a BGT finale promo spot :w00t: (But obviously not happening due to Piece of Me) (And Iggy neglecting this country) (Even though we're the originals) (If she performed Beg For It on X Factor it would have at least gone Top 40, and If she performed Trouble on 'The Voice' it could have gone Top 5)
-
Britney Spears & Iggy Azalea - Pretty Girls
I'm gonna say 8-12. Top 5 on sales, Top 20 streaming. If they add it to Spotify in the next week or so, then they get it playlist in like HotHits UK or something like that, Streaming could be on board and we could see Top 5. I agree - but Radio 1 seem to back Iggy (especially 1XTRA) so maybe they'll see the Iggy feature and roll with it. The 'Official Chart' twitter tipped PG for chart success in the coming weeks, get that promo :cheer:
