I haven't seen Orphan Black, but I do recommend Sense8 strongly. It takes a while to get going and there are a few completely unnecessary sex scenes, but once it does get going it really grips you. Really strong characterization and storytelling, and it does actually manage to tackle some pretty serious stuff maturely. I do believe a second season is coming soon to Netflix, too.

  5. Just listened to both and they're pretty good but not mind-blowing. They've got some cool moments (the bass that kicks off All or Nothing is sooo good) but nothing too terribly striking. I kinda feel like I should like them more than I do, though.

Sooo....the moon legendary is 4x weak to Dark and the sun legendary is weak to Fire. Okay. Also, Rotom Pokedex is a really cool idea! Does this mean you may start out with a Rotom in addition to your starter? Because, if so, that would be literally the coolest thing.
  7. I watched both videos all the way through, and neither of the songs has really gripped me so far. The videos are so interesting (if a bit meandering at times) and the songs are so ambient that it feels more like the soundtrack to a set of weird but kinda cool modern short films than music videos at times. Not sure how well it'll work as stand-alone listening music, but as far as incidental music goes it works very nicely (which is a vibe I get from a lot of Radiohead's music, and is probably why Johnny Greenwood's film scores work very well). I'm not a huge fan of the production on either track. The arrangements are fantastic (speaking of, someone has already done a brief analysis of Burn the Witch, which is pretty interesting!), but the mixing sounds so bass heavy and muddled which makes it hard to decipher what's going on some times. Definitely prefer Daydreaming to Burn the Witch so far, though. It's a bit more interesting musically, even with that weird ending. Not too impressed so far, but I'll just have to wait until the album comes out to see how everything works out in context, I suppose.

  9. Aw, shame I didn't qualify. Would've been fun to have been a dark horse (or even win with that monstrosity). The good news is, however: 12 Q 10 Q 08 Q 06 Q 05 Q 04 Q 03 Q 02 Q 01 Q A bit of a bittersweet victory.

I have sent my votes in at the last minute.
  11. Some ideas for Spin-offs me, Lotti, Mattias, and Lindsey came up with: Groups - Contestants are split off into groups of 3-5 (either through random.org or by choice) and given a genre/artist/theme and they collectively decide on a song in that category to send Genres - Similar to Worldvision in a sense, each person picks a number and is assigned an subgenre (e.g. Jazz Fusion, Glitch hop, Neo Prog) and must enter something from that genre Out of Genre Experience - send a song in a style the artist wouldn't normally do (e.g. Lady Gaga's jazz albums) Instrumentals - Self-explanatory. One on One - each person is assigned another person, and you give each other a song/artist that you think they'd like to enter in the contest Epics - where you send one of the three longest songs a group has put out Covers Disney - send songs by Disney Channel artists (Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Britney Spears, etc.), from Disney movies, or from Broadway adaptations of Disney movies Soundtrack/Score - send songs in from film scores or soundtracks

  16. Order of the Phoenix is my absolute favorite book/movie of the series, so I'm going to be casting my vote for Deathly Hallows Part 2.
  17. I'm actually really satisfied with how everything ended up ranking in the end, and I'm also incredibly unsurprised. It's amazing how close some of the scores are, though! Some songs are only ahead of the one before it by like .02 points!
  18. I Knew You Were Trouble when you made me use up all of my cheesy I Knew You Were Trouble jokes because you were in the poll a lot longer than you should be.
  19. I Knew You Were Trouble when you got to the Top 3 no matter how many times I tried to vote you off. Hopefully it goes out soon because I'm running low on jokes for this song.
  20. I wasn't really hooked on to it at first and I thought the video was a bit silly and cliched at first, but the last minute or so really changes the whole video and wraps it up quite nicely. It fits the song quite nicely and plays off the title too. I'm definitely liking this one the most from the 1989 videos so far. Which is funny because it's one of the weakest songs from the album for me.
  21. I'm doing really well so far! Hopefully I don't take a nosedive down the toilet like I did on the last one.
  22. Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Forrest Gump, and The Dark Knight Rises.
  23. Daredevil for the tie-breaker and Spider-Man 3 for the poll.
  24. The Dark Knight Rises, Forrest Gump, and the remaining Hunger Games movies for the poll, and Sixth Sense.

Just so you guys know, neither of these videos work for us American users. Or didn't for me anyways. I'll check them out through the mp3s but just so you guys know.
