I just think it's the virality of her songs, having memorable lyrics, catchy hooks and offering something a bit lighter and more fun to the likes of her other contemporaries. She's also just marketed very well and comes across likeable. I don't see anything wrong with her live performances? Lol. She's not the best singer but she always has a lot of fun and commands the stage.
