that is a lovely piece - and i agree, having driven to glasgow then up along loch lomond on hols, - its amazing- beats la imo hands down
  2. yes i was thinking of mb when i saw that, thanks for going to all that trouble,meg..virgin has been slow for a couple of days and keeps cutting off intermittently for us, we have to keep turnng the modem on and off.
  3. yes, indeed - i was impressed with that aspect, and the warm hugs with the coductor and acknowledgement of the orchestra, and the bit with the audience singing. i couldnt quite catch what he said when he held the mic out to the crowd, something about make a sad song better if we sing together..perhaps that was my ears lol all in all great.
  4. yes, they did a duet, i suscribed to the channel, as they have all the perormances on youtube, should be under beatles 50th ann rah - if they havent been removed that is snd yup its all emotive - i would rather d critised for doing his own version on this occasion- than for being kareoke which imo would have been a lost opportunity with that orchestra
  5. i think its the worry that makes the relief all the sweeter when it comes
  6. that is ridiculous, i know there is a size limit as one of my garden ones just seemed to stay uploading for an age and i had to cancel it. yup, re liz..i watched theirs on youtube, and wasnt impressed, was worried due to that chap dissing d and liz and antonys twitter mates saying they had smashed it etc..everyone sees something different i suppose. i think darius' experience in all the things he has done puts him in good stead -as he comes across as very self assured on such a large stage, its not a case of wandering on and singing, loved the way he introduced the conductor etc..

    :???:
  8. totally agree, i am always wanting something more from such performances - or what is the point. someone had tweeted they had seen antony costa and liz murder ticket to ride, akin to a kareoke, i would rather not have darius accused of that
  9. thats crafty..never thought of that
  10. that would be a nice gesture, and probably some tribute at the performance, minutes silence or something, it would be impossible to continue as if nothing had happened at a theatee he had been doing panto for so many years really
  11. oh that sounds marvellous! looking forward to going to some next year, all going well -
  12. well we could have just had a beatles cd to listen to - what is the point of such lavish instruments -if someone just does a kareoke to them, watching the original with mccartney singing on youtube..i cant say that would have had made much impact on me oh and on watching that, i noticed paul did sing get first time round, not find-
  13. so do i, as you say this sort of tour is something performers did all the time, its a niche that needs filling, proper music other than pop...i really want that dvd and cds though.
  14. sounds great, darius sang the lady is a tramp at woking, he didnt at st albans..the first show, in fact he sang a few less on the first show, so glad i go to go again. lovely that it was heaving..even if it wasnt as profitable, people got to see him,and get to hear him sing- and super that loads waited to meet him after.
  15. yup, lovely reading the comments
  16. those are the ones I love, that one of him looking down is just lovely. the other one I love is theayayayay one..I couldnt seem to save the pics fomr that site, kept saving a pixel as a gif? like my hubby, that twitter chap in the chorus said he didnt like song because darius shouldnt have changed an iconic song..which is wierd coz using a full blown orchestra and huge choir is sort of changing a pop song somewhat lol,
  17. some smashing ones there, now i know who took the pic when darius and dame shirley posed. love the one when he is giving t some ayayayaysyay hey jude..lol
  18. exactly, nice tweet from nordoffrobins NordoffRobbins1 We really enjoyed the Beatles 50th anniversary concert at @RoyalAlbertHall last night! Thanks so much @DariusOfficial & @DSBtigerbay!
  19. tut, my hubby doesnt think much of the song..he said darius is singing too deep..thought he should sing it like he sang colourblind..
  20. that has happened to me too, glasses can be a bind, even wiith these variafocals trying to see the lcd screen somtimes makes me think its blurred, nice photos though, loved the manly hugs
  21. she always has, she is the best female performer out there, a true star, a fantastic voice iconic along with barbara striesland in my book= its just i expect her to be tip top, take it as read lol i grew up on a diet of shirley bassey. i would imagine going by the sound on your video she was really belting it out, on youtube the sound doesnt relect the power of her and tony christies voices, hence it wasnt really anything but a bit of a disappointment - having heard them sing thesesongs before with better sound. the sound is fantastic quality on your video - and amazig knowing how far back you were
  22. thats fine as funny enough he's the only one i'm interested in, all respect to the icon and the voice dame bassey, but i have heard her do that better in the past i am sure(although when I mentioned that Shirley bassey had done this song a lot to my hubby, he said he thought that was the one Joe Longthorne used to do -)whereas Darius never ceases to have me on tenderhooks worrying, then wows me with his performances, editing to say meg=your vid is so much better, the sound too - perhaps i didnt appreciate the other performances due to the poorer sound quality - but darius; voice sounds magnificent, goosebumps on watching that..thanks so much
  23. this person has the whole set of performances from the night on their channel -
