The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
^oh interesting, bad label decision it seems. love All I Want is You from the newbies, the hidden gem in the rather lacklustre Rattle and Hum album. also love the Beautiful South single, a great debut. the Prince song I also kinda like it, love how messy it is. I take it Soul II Soul will re-release the album with the single version added?

Did something happened between Sinitta and SAW? They kinda stopped giving her songs after her debut, despite the huge success, and only one track on her 2nd album is from SAW

I loved Cyndi Lauper's debit and both Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Time after Time but album 2 was a let down for me, never liked True Colours, way too much AOR I don't think it's fair that everybody talks about Cyndi's version of I Drove al Night like if it were a cover Maybe she wasn't the intended 1st choice but that happens to hundreds of songs She was the first to release it anyway

Yes, just take a look at her discography, just 4 top 40 hits and nothing even close to the top 10 besides her debut Royals! I still recall Green Light was super unlucky, was released same day as Ed Sheeran-Divide otherwise it would have peaked much higher, #20 is a travesty for such a gem!

on Apple songs take like 12 hours minimum to show up and thats with new music Friday playlist support, don't think mid-week releases usually chart on Apple the Lorde song is great but obviously is not a 10 weeks at #1 kinda song like As It Was or Bad Habits

I love Cyndi Lauper and love I Drove All Night, also the parent album is an underrated gem full of great great songs Soul II Soul never really cared, but didn't know the lyrics were so literal! Surprised Madonna struggling at #5, thought this had been top 3 I know it made #2 in the US, which is also surprising in an era where the big names like Michael and Janet Jackson , Whitney and George Michel and even Paula Abdul could get 4/5 #1s in a trot from an album

HAIM - I quit
They also debuted a new song called Blood on the Street!! from Rolling Stone: Haim enlisted Addison Rae to help them debut a new song, “Blood on the Street,” during their show in Los Angeles last night. The performance, part of Haim’s headlining show at the Bellwether, featured Rae writhing around the stage as the band premiered the mid-tempo rock track. Oddly, Rae didn’t join on the vocals; she just danced around as Haim themselves sang. During the show, Haim played several of their new songs, including recent single “Everybody’s Trying to Figure Me Out” and “Down To Be Wrong,” which is set to be released later today. The trio also announced the name of their forthcoming LP, which is titled I Quit, along with its release date of June 20. The group kicked off their show with an intro visual that revealed the title and included numerous variations of the name like “I quit what does not serve me” and “I quit caring about what you think.” Haim kicked off their new album cycle with “Relationships,” which arrived last month. I Quit was produced by Rostam Batmanglij and marks the band’s fourth LP. Haim’s most recent album, Women in Music Pt. III, arrived nearly five years ago. lana Haim recently told I-D their new album is “the closest we’ve ever gotten to how we wanted to sound.” She added that it was a “completely different experience” recording than on past albums. Danielle added, “Working with Rostam, in general it’s very quick, kinetic with him, which I really love as an artist.”
