The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
I love Cyndi Lauper and love I Drove All Night, also the parent album is an underrated gem full of great great songs Soul II Soul never really cared, but didn't know the lyrics were so literal! Surprised Madonna struggling at #5, thought this had been top 3 I know it made #2 in the US, which is also surprising in an era where the big names like Michael and Janet Jackson , Whitney and George Michel and even Paula Abdul could get 4/5 #1s in a trot from an album

HAIM - I quit
They also debuted a new song called Blood on the Street!! from Rolling Stone: Haim enlisted Addison Rae to help them debut a new song, “Blood on the Street,” during their show in Los Angeles last night. The performance, part of Haim’s headlining show at the Bellwether, featured Rae writhing around the stage as the band premiered the mid-tempo rock track. Oddly, Rae didn’t join on the vocals; she just danced around as Haim themselves sang. During the show, Haim played several of their new songs, including recent single “Everybody’s Trying to Figure Me Out” and “Down To Be Wrong,” which is set to be released later today. The trio also announced the name of their forthcoming LP, which is titled I Quit, along with its release date of June 20. The group kicked off their show with an intro visual that revealed the title and included numerous variations of the name like “I quit what does not serve me” and “I quit caring about what you think.” Haim kicked off their new album cycle with “Relationships,” which arrived last month. I Quit was produced by Rostam Batmanglij and marks the band’s fourth LP. Haim’s most recent album, Women in Music Pt. III, arrived nearly five years ago. lana Haim recently told I-D their new album is “the closest we’ve ever gotten to how we wanted to sound.” She added that it was a “completely different experience” recording than on past albums. Danielle added, “Working with Rostam, in general it’s very quick, kinetic with him, which I really love as an artist.”

This really sums up how things are at the moment on Spotify for new songs Azizam stuck behind Stick Season, which has been 2 years in the charts, behidn the white noise for babies thing, and behind Mr Brightside in a streak of 1,500-ish days which is like 6 years ☠️

really hope so x Lorde, sounds fantastic on first listen to me I think it's fantastic to have her back with an electronic upbeat song it's the only big newbie out tomorrow so hoping there's interest although the reception in other places, I mean, Popjustice, has been very lukewarm love how Lizzy McAlpine always has songs going viral Spring into Summer is very good, I already saw it going viral in the US last week or the week before

yes finally justice for Sweet child o'mine I was somehow a Jason fan, guess cos of Neighbours, cos I did buy the album but Sealed with a kiss is a bad cover, terribly done, and didn't deserve the #1 spot I also bought Sinitta's debut album :) my fav from hers was Toy Boy this one not so much... can't recall her having a 2nd album, did she manage to release a 2nd album?

Manchild is kinda famous cos it was written by Neneh Cherry with an "auto-chord" keyboard so it's like a piano and when you hit a single note, it automatically generates a chord progression. So she didn't know anything about music but the keyboard made the chords kinda automatically

if you can beat him, join him :D the lyrics of Ordinary are certainly as cheesy as if they came from Ed
