The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
oh my the wiki x Reynolds girls is hilarious https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Reynolds_Girls After their brief success in 1989 with "I'd Rather Jack", The Reynolds Girls had a public falling out with Pete Waterman, who accused them of being difficult. They parted ways with PWL, saying they wanted to direct their own careers. The girls self-released a second single, "Get Real", funded by their parents remortgaging their family house, but the song failed to chart. The duo have not made any real media appearance since. In a documentary about PWL that aired in 2012, the people interviewed admitted that the single was indeed a tongue-in-cheek response to the critics, and in part did ruin the siblings' career after they'd recorded it. It is unknown what happened to them after that and they could not be traced for a 2012 PWL reunion concert. In 2013, ITV started a search for the sisters, so they could appear in a commemorative documentary about Stock, Aitken and Waterman As of 2022, their whereabouts remain unknown.

90s Top 10 sales- Week By Week- 1997
oh Joga! I was actually in the UK when Diana died studying English, but one of my good memories from that time is going to a record store and buying the Joga CD singles!! Never understood why but it was ineligible indeed. Too bd cos it's one of the best songs ever and deserved to chart and sure had been a big one if allowed. And also poor One Little Indian label releasing so many formats for nothing. It also has Bjoek's best b-side ever, so Broken <3 also funnily, took me like 20 years to realise the song was not about "yoga<<2, it's actually about a friend called Joga, who I believe was Bjork's assistant back then.

Lana Del Rey
Lana just announced that her new album, which at first it was gonna be Lasso, then changed to The Right Person Will Stay, has been renamed once more and will have a still-unknown title. Lana is really the queen of changing her mind so I thought I'd take a look at her intended original album titles... Born to Die: many titles planned, she said at one point she had 4 titles in her head: God Bless Americam Do U Love Me Yet, The World is Ours and The Best of Lana del Rey. I've also seen people mention The Revenge of Lana del Rey. and also Born 2 Die. Ultraviolence: was Melancholia Honeymoon: original title was Music to Watch the Boys to Lust for Life: was Best American Record Normal F Rockwell: original title was Bird World. Chemtrails over the country club: original title was White Hot Forever Blue Bannisters: original was Rock Candy Sweet Did you know there is a tunnel under Ocean blvd: original title was even longer and weirder: Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd Pearl watch me on ring a bell Psycho Lifeguard

90s Top 10 sales- Week By Week- 1997
yes Stand by Me should have been the lead and deserved #1 status it's like a million times better than D'you know Be here now only has 2 great songs, Stand by me and Don't go away, so not many choices I also love the Janet Jackson, but I have to admit I love it now but not so much back then, kinda passed me by and didn't buy the album either although I have bought Control and Janet The Eternal one is a bit cheesy but always liked it too the rest are all kinda meh and shows it was borderline too easy to go top 10 in the Uk by 1997, Please or Just for you are average songs at best, that wouldn't even trouble the top 100 if released now.

-
The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
Like a Prayer <3 and what a debut, never imagined she had done > 80K! A true classic of classics although I slightly prefer some of her mid 90s singles like Live to Tell, Into the groove and Papa don't preach also crazy it was her 18th top 10 hit in such a brief period of time also loooove Paula Abdul's Straight Up, was obsessed with it as a kid and even bought the album which was surprisingly very good that Donna Summer song I liked it, not a fav from SAW, but insane they had 3 out of the top 5!

Lana Del Rey - Henry, come on
I love the strings and general sound, which is like zero zero country to me, it's more like a continuation of Cghemtrails/Tunnel my only "but" is the bit that is 1000% identical to Brooklyn Baby, too much recycling
