The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
oh love love love Sam Brown-Stop, was totally obsessed with this song back then and is one of my fav songs of the 80s. Too bad she never managed to have another top 10, great vocals I was one of the many that didn't have bad on CD so for me Leave me Alone was a brand new single. Was a great single too the Rick Astley single really is weak, a miracle it went top 10, not sure if deserved that just remembered that my fav bad at the time, All About Eve, had also released a cover of She moves thru the fair, as part of their debut album, was never a single, but was one of the album highlights, accappella, more folkish and faithful to the original and very much preferred that version to Simple Minds

I think it's the tiktok generation not giving a damn about big name comebacks. and looks like it's even worse in the US. by the way, who's #1 in the US? Drake-Nokia :/ cos he's viral once again, hard to eradicate the very foundation of bad music :)

what is absolutely insane is how poorly Ed is doing in the US, I was doing a search for Azizam in the US Spotify top 200 and nothing came out and couldn't understand but Azizam has done a 60-145-OUT in the US. And that's with him doing US promo for the song already and being on late night shows etc at least Sleep Token held up better in the US, did 3-9-13... Miley did 26-98-93, not good but at least she's there

Lana Del Rey - Henry, come on
Apparently the song has been already uploaded to Spotify but it's not playable yet which kinda suggest a release sooner than later it's over 5 minute long too cannot wait!!

was trying to figure out how many of those are over 100K? cos I could recall an occ article about 1989 TV: Taylor Swift's re-recorded album, 1989 (Taylor's Version), achieved remarkable sales in the UK upon its release in October 2023. In its opening week, the album sold 184,000 copies, more than doubling the original's first-week sales of 90,000 in 2014.Of these, nearly 62,000 copies were vinyl records, making it the fastest-selling vinyl album of 2023 in the UK. By October 2024, sales had surpassed 84,700 copies. x Harry's House, the only info I could find is this: Harry's House sold 36,041 vinyl copies, accounting for approximately 31.67% of its total 113,812 first-week sales. By October 2022, Harry's House had become the best-selling vinyl album of the year in the UK, with sales surpassing 60,000 copies. But it must have continued selling if he's above 1989 TV

Nothing amazing this week, I don't mind the Simple Minds and Yazz ones, but Michael Ball I kinda hate that song

thats terrible for the newbies especially Miley thats insane that Miley's old song Party in the US is the biggest climber on today's Spotify at #137 but the brand new single is out of the top 200
