  1. loved Siobhan in Bananarama and was a big fan of Shakespeares Sister since day 1 I really liked You Break my Heart but You're History was miles better and a well deserved hit oh I actually though PSB had written Losing my mind for Liza Minelli SAW starting to go really cheap with cover bands like Big Fun
  2. I think it was a big pity she gave up on music so quickly, think in 91 or 92 she said the pressure was too much and gave it all up and never released anything again after album 2 (I think)-
  3. exactly who cares about AOTY? No one at all, deranged fans a go-go check Metacritic instead
  4. this album has got pretty bad reviews especially from the serious press, Pitchfork gave it a 4.8 a 4.8 on Pitchfork means worst album of the year territory, even the crappiest albums get a 5 or 6 Also other serious press like The Guardian or The Telegraph or Mojo or the Independent the only high scores are from outlets I've never ever herd in my life and that sound very low key the previous album from 2021 I think was genius but here there is a serious serious drop in quality imho

AM unfroze now and Ed is up to #50
  6. Poison was clearly from the same guy that was writing for Bon Jovi, great song Toy Soldiers is great, loved Martika back then and thought she was gonna have a great career ala Madonna I notice one of my fav songs of the year peaking at #14 this week, Transvision Vamp-Landslide of Love, single #3 from Velveteen
  7. Gravity is the best Embrace song for me. It was an early days Coldplay track so that might explain it.

  10. oh wow Undressed up to #4 and with over 300K too bad the increase was on a Thursday! I noticed Gaga's Just Dance is on the rise, is it tiktok?
  11. oh love Torn so much, one of the best pop songs of the 90s, bit unlucky with the timing Barbie Girl is such a silly song but you cannot deny peopl loved it with those sales also liked the Embrace single some hideous songs from Peter Andre and N-Trance covering the worst song of the 80s
  12. Old Phone was released yesterday wasn't it? I mean it was a Thu release, right? could potentially show up on Spotify today strange it's not shown up on Apple yet though
  13. Lorde suddenly big climbing on Amazon #26 now Ed's Old Phone already #33 on Amazon, ka-ching! Amazon: 9 Love me not 10 Benson - Mystical 11 Miley 26 The Lorde 33 Old Phone
  14. You mean a grat? Do grats still exist? Some pre-album campaigns can be very long with multipletracks becoming available to generate preorders but doesnt mean they are singles Surprised his pre-album campaign is so long, the tendency now is 2-3 months
  15. From 1 to 1000000 It sounds 0 Like Kirsty McColl but alas
  16. The Stone Roses had their first chart entry ever in at #36 with She Bangs the Drums I was an instant fan of the band and already bought the album in mid 89!

loving the Barbie pink RBs <3
  18. One of my least fav songs from Kylie, not even sure how I did buy the album on the back of this cos I didn't like it back then and don't like it now, really think it's album filler at best :/
  19. I disagree, think she's both a singles and an albums artist. Also we were discussing if a comeback single would go to #1, which I fear it might not for Taylor
  20. I was only following the singles but not the album charts as a kid so no clue London Boys did so well, also kinda genius album title: The 12 Commandments of Dance :) but @dandy* just curious, you bought the album back then in 89 or later in life?
  21. oh my there have been so many extended, special editions already... per wiki: As part of the album's extended rollout, Gomez made the previously unreleased 2016 track "Stained", available for digital download via her official website on March 22, 2025.[13] Two days later, on March 24, a new special track titled "Talk" was released as a digital exclusive;[14] the song had previously been featured in an Apple commercial to promote the iPhone 16e and interpolates Cake's "Never There".[15] Gomez released the Seven Heavens Version of the album for digital download on March 25, featuring the song "That's When I'll Care" (Seven Heavens version).[16] The following day, she released the Call Me When You Break Up Special Edition, which included the acoustic and extended versions of "Call Me When You Break Up".[17] She further released two digital limited editions, with live from Vevo recordings of "Scared of Loving You" and "How Does It Feel to Be Forgotten" included respectively. On April 30, she announced the deluxe version of the album, titled I Said I Love You First... and You Said It Back, to be released on May 2.[18][19]
  22. I didn't recall the Lil Louis one but just listening and sounds fantastic also didn't know London Boys had had a top 2 album, or even released an album for that matter how many copies did @dandy* buy? :)
  23. oh my double dreadful this week with Bros and Jive Bunny amazed the label greenlighted the Bros single, so terrible and mediocre more than anything I genuinely liked their first 3 singles and When Will I Be Famous is a great single but Too Much is no good, the only redeeming factor is that Sonia beat him and then there's Jive Bunny, oh my I hated them with a passion back then and still do they really killed the rest of 1989 for me
