Has 2016 been the worst year for UK top 40 in its existence
I don't it's been bad musically, plus a lot of songs I've liked have debuted in the Top 10. It's just the painfully slow turnover that's let it down.

Listen to Roses - that's by far the best.

Worst album chart drops from the top 10
Lol. So an album that dropped from 2 to 41 to 94 will be considered more successful than an album that peaked at 13 yet had huge longevity. Ok then....

OCC: Calvin Harris' Official Top 20 biggest UK singles
How Deep Is Your Love and This Is What You Came For are so average.

Predict: Emeli Sandé - Long Live The Angels 1st week sales
I think some people are underestimating this. Time of year coupled with inevitable X Factor performance should see this between 90-100k at least.

Is the album format dying?
It's not what it once was, but it certainly isn't dead. Big artists (Adele, Beyonce, Kanye, Taylor Swift etc) still generate far more buzz when releasing a new album than they would with a single. The singles chart, in many ways, has been more damaged due to bad turnover higher up the charts and lots of non-single tracks making the charts very stale. Album sales are dire during Summer months yes, but they recover as the year wears down.

Round Round was #1 14 years ago
Meh. I'm just not bothered about Siobhan. She doesn't feel like a Sugababe to me. Yes, I'm sure she performs the 2.0 material well, but looking back she'll always be the random girl from the first album for me, and most of the general public (and that's coming from someone who initially liked her during the One Touch days). And I don't agree about Heidi being the weakest vocally, I've always really liked her voice. And either way, I'd rather see Heidi perform the 2.0 songs over Siobhan as they are actually Heidi's songs. I'd hate to think of Siobhan singing Stronger, as that middle 8 was very personal to Heidi. To me, the Sugababes will always be Mutya/Keisha/Heidi.

OCC: Sugababes' Round Round was Number 1 this week in 2002
So much of those songs from 2002 wouldn't stand a chance in today's music scene (Round Round being an exception). It's made me feel pretty old seeing that.

I've been a fan of Sugababes since Overload and I'm 28, so that's over half my life. Looking back on it all, 2.0 ARE the Sugababes. They may not have been the original line up, but they were easily the best.

OCC: Sugababes' Round Round was Number 1 this week in 2002
Sugababes 2.0 were unstoppable. They were by far the best line up. If the 2012 reunion had been MKH, I'd have actually been interested.

The NOW Music Thread 2.0
Cold Water is only just out though this week. Lean On had already been out a while when Now 91 was released.

Good tracklisting. Hotline Bling being on is a basically a massive compromise for the rather obvious omission... The only snubs I would say were Zayn, Disturbed and OneRepublic The rest either haven't granted permission (Adele/Beyonce), will make it onto Now 95 (Christine & The Queens/Olly Murs), or are too old (Rinse And Repeat should've been on Now 93). Biggest surprise is Bieber being on.

The NOW Music Thread 2.0
There's no way Now will go down to just 2 compilations a year - they sell way too much. Now 93 had a lot of none Top 10 songs on yet still sold brilliantly.

I'd also say Stay and Here For You deserved much higher.

From bad to good in the space of one hit
Someone already mentioned it but Melanin C Goin Down to Northern Star was a collosal step up. In fact, everything on the Northern Star album was better than Goin Down - why she lead with that I'll never know....
